Actress Glenn Close: People Who Value Gender Differences Will Have to "Die Off"

By Rick Pearcey • September 16, 2011, 09:39 AM

Kathleen Gilbert reports at LifeSiteNews:

Discussing her gender-bending role in the new movie Albert Nobbs, American actress Glenn Close has said that gender “doesn’t matter” and all those too outdated to reject natural gender and gender roles will just have to “die off.”

Albert Nobbs, screened at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival, features Close as a cross-dressing woman working as a butler in 19th-century Ireland. The idea behind the film, a pet project of Close’s for fifteen years, is to help scuttle conventional ideas of gender -- or any idea of gender.

On the other hand, the Creator of the Declaration, whom American exceptionalism recognizes is the source of unalienable human rights and freedoms (having been "created equal and endowed by their Creator") also created this little thing called male and female, a wonderful expression of humane and liberating diversity.

Imagine: How boring, small-minded, monodimensional, alienating, and otherworldly is this flat gospel brought to us by yet another secular evangelist pounding the podium of Hollywood.

And did I mention how enslaving is this secular gospel? This superficial "tolerance" of Tinseltown?

Enslaving as in opening wide the door for state totalitarianism -- after all, if there is no permanent human nature, no essence of man, no definition of who and what we are, including "gender," there is then no human nature that a centralized state could possibly ever offend.

Altogether Now: Imagine there were no genders . . .  And la, la, la. As the tanks of tyranny fire up their engines.

But how much better and liberating is "Vive la difference!"

This is why resistance is not only good for you, but can be a whole lot of fun.

Meanwhile, Mz. Close, please get back to us when the Creator dies off.
