U.S. Taxpayers Gave Planned Parenthood, Other Abortion Advocates Nearly $1.5 Billion Over 3 Years

By Rick Pearcey • March 30, 2015, 08:35 AM

Dustin Siggins reports at Lifesitenews.com:

U.S. federal and state taxpayers sent nearly $1.5 billion to Planned Parenthood and five other groups that promote abortion and population control between 2010 and 2012, according to a federal watchdog report.

The report, which was released to the public on Wednesday, [is] in response to a request by more than 70 members of Congress.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) provided an update to a 2010 report on funding provided to Advocates for Youth, Guttmacher Institute, International Planned Parenthood Federation, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Population Council, and the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS).

Wendy Davis Supporter Hurls Molotov Cocktail at Pro-Lifers

By Rick Pearcey • March 27, 2015, 08:45 AM

Bob Unruh reports at WND:

A new level of violence apparently has been reached by abortion advocates in Texas, which has been rocked by the issue recently, including a disruption in the state legislature when pro-abortion Democrat state Sen. Wendy Davis staged a 13-hour filibuster and later when her supporters were caught on a recording chanting "Hail Satan."

The latest case has resulted in the arrest of a Davis supporter, Melanie Toney, 52, on a charge she lobbed a lit glass bottle with explosive fuel out of her car at pro-life activists near an abortion clinic.

According to KXAN-TV in Austin, Texas, the Molotov cocktail was thrown at a group of women praying in front of a Planned Parenthood clinic Monday. Charges against Toney now include aggravated assault after Austin police and bomb squad members responded.

Cornell Dean Says ISIS Welcome on Campus: Undercover Video

By Rick Pearcey • March 25, 2015, 10:13 AM

Carl Campanile writes at the NYPost:

This guy is either the dumbest Ivy League bigwig ever or politically correct to a fault -- for welcoming offers to bring ISIS and Hamas to Cornell University.

A video sting operation shows Cornell’s assistant dean for students, Joseph Scaffido, agreeing to everything suggested by an undercover muckraker posing as a Moroccan student.

Scaffido casually endorses inviting an ISIS "freedom fighter" to conduct a "training camp" for students at the upstate Ithaca campus -- bizarrely likening the activity to a sports camp.

"Is it OK to bring a humanitarian pro-'Islamic State Iraq and Syria' group on campus, the undercover for conservative activist James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas asks. Sure, Scaffido says in the recorded March 16 meeting," according to the Post.

"The undercover asked if he can invite 'a freedom fighter to come and do like a training camp for students.' Scaffido responds, 'You would be allowed to do something like that. It’s just like brining in a coach, to do a training, a sports trainer or something,' the Cornell official said," the Post reports.

Starbucks Boiling Point: Let's Talk About Black Racism

By Rick Pearcey • March 23, 2015, 08:48 AM

Jesse Lee Peterson writes:

Starbucks’ "Race Together" campaign was intended to kick-start a national conversation about race relations, but, ironically, the effort has exposed a deep-seated racism in the black community.

And now that campaign, launched less than a week ago, has been poured down the drain.

One Nation Under Allah: Fury After School Recites Pledge in Arabic

By Rick Pearcey • March 20, 2015, 10:21 AM

Todd Starnes, author of God Less America, writes:

Students at Pine Bush High School in Pine Bush, New York, knew right away there was something not quite right about the Pledge of Allegiance. That’s because the pledge was being recited in Arabic.

"One nation under Allah," the student body president announced over the intercom system on Wednesday.

Reaction in the upstate New York high school was swift, and so was the backlash, The Times Herald-Record reports.

Furious students tried to shout down the recitation in their classrooms. Other students sat down in protest.

"School Superintendent Joan Carbone told the newspaper that the Arabic pledge 'divided the school in half,' noting that many complaints came from Jewish parents and those who had lost family members fighting the war on terror," Starnes writes.

The school has apologized. "We sincerely apologize for having the Pledge of Allegiance recited this morning in the high school in a language other than English," said the apology, according to Starnes. "In our school district the Pledge of Allegiance will only be recited in English as recommended by the Commissioner of Education."

It's a Girl! Therefore, Kill It

By Rick Pearcey • March 18, 2015, 11:56 AM

"One of the biggest threats, the biggest killers of girls today, attacks on women today, is sex-selective abortion," Lila Rose, pro-life activist and president of Live Action, said in a panel presentation at the U.N.’s Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) on Thursday, March 12," Lauretta Brown reports at CNSNews.com.

"I'm not sure how many people are aware of this, but one of the challenges that we're facing in the United States and other countries across the world is what The Economist has called the war on baby girls," Rose said in remarks captured on video available at CNSNews.

"There's over 100 million missing girls in the world today because of sex-selective abortion killing off children in the womb -- particularly little girls because they're not seen as valuable as men, as valuable as boys," Rose said.

Honeymoon Over: Scott Walker Hires Pro-Amnesty, Pro-Abort, Pro-Homosex "Marriage" Staffer

By Rick Pearcey • March 17, 2015, 08:14 AM

Matthew Boyle writes at Breitbart.com:

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker made another massive misstep on Monday, hiring Liz Mair of Mair Strategies to handle communications and social media for his campaign-in-waiting.

Mair’s support for amnesty for illegal aliens, wide-open-borders immigration policies, and public advocacy for the Senate "Gang of Eight" amnesty bill is sure to dog Walker in Iowa, South Carolina, and other early presidential states.

"Steve Deace, a nationally syndicated conservative radio host based in Iowa, said in an interview with Breitbart News that Mair 'is on the wrong side of three issues that are non-starters, non-negotiables for Iowa conservatives'," Boyle continues.

"Deace said the issues that Mair is bringing into the Walker campaign are her support for amnesty, her support of same-sex marriage, and her support of abortion," Boyle states.

“If you go to her website, she’s got her own little pro-killing apologetic she posts up there,” Deace said, according to Boyle.

"Those are bad enough," Boyle also quotes Deace as saying, "but where this delves beyond just issue disagreement into amateur hour is the fact that while Scott Walker is having a debutante ball at the Iowa Freedom Summit hosted by Steve King . . . she is on Twitter ripping the event and ripping Iowans, saying Iowans are 'embarrassing' that as soon as Iowa loses its first in the nation status the better we’ll all be."

More Than 40,000 Support Navy Chaplain Accused of Lacking "Tolerance and Respect"

By Rick Pearcey • March 13, 2015, 10:53 AM

Todd Starnes writes:

Thousands of Americans, including former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and famed evangelist Franklin Graham, have come to the defense of a chaplain who could be thrown out of the Navy because of his Christian faith.

Lt. Cmdr. Wes Modder has been accused of failing to show "tolerance and respect" in private counseling sessions regarding issues pertaining to faith, marriage and sexuality --  specifically homosexuality.

The person accusing Mr. Modder is his assistant, a "married" homosexual "officer at the base who was upset about the minister's views on same-sex relationships and homosexuality," Starnes writes.

It is becoming more and more clear that those who despise the Creator's norms for human liberty and healthy sexuality are not victims but are victimizers.

Their rampant discrimination is an offense to common decency, and their shrieks are calculated to distract from the weakness of their arguments, not to mention the indecency of their oppressive agenda.

But Americans are noticing. They see the hatred of freedom that inhabits the heart of homosexualism.

And let us ask: Is anyone really surprised that those who reject the source of human liberty so easily embrace the techniques of tyranny to dictate to others how they must live?

Bravo to those supporting Lt. Cmdr. Wes Modder. He stands in the mainstream of American thought and practice (see the Declaration of Independence), even as he stands against hateful homosexualist extremists seeking to impose their private beliefs and flawed "morals."

Homosexualists and their fellow travelers are dangerous reactionaries. A free-thinking people revolts.

Surrender Syndrome: McConnell Rapidly Tipping His Hand

By Rick Pearcey • March 12, 2015, 09:16 AM

Daniel Horowitz writes at Conservative Review

For those of you perplexed by the flaccid leadership qualities of Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), there appears to be a method to their madness.

Apparently, they plan to capitulate so quickly on so many issues that Obama will become flummoxed and overwhelmed by processing so many capitulations at once.

Maybe that will slow down the pace of his effort to transform America.

Earlier this week, McConnell publicly surrendered on not one, but two significant issues: raising the debt ceiling and confirming Loretta Lynch as Attorney General.

"Settled Science"? There's Nothing More Unscientific

By Rick Pearcey • March 11, 2015, 08:27 AM

Walter E. Williams writes:

The most disgusting aspect of the climate change debate is the statements by many that it’s settled science.

There is nothing more anti-scientific than the idea that any science is settled. Very often we find that the half-life of many scientific ideas is about 50 years.

For academics to not criticize their colleagues and politicians for suggesting that scientific ideas are not subject to challenge is the height of academic dishonesty.

Report: Boehner Cut Deal With Pelosi to Use Netanyahu Speech as Cover to Fund Obama's Executive Amnesty

By Rick Pearcey • March 6, 2015, 10:14 AM

Matthew Boyle reports at Breitbart:

A new bombshell report from Politico found that House Speaker John Boehner had several days of secret negotiations with Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi . . . leading up to his decision to flip-flop and fund President Obama’s executive amnesty -- including a pre-hashed out deal to use the hoopla around Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Tuesday address to Congress over Iran’s nuclear ambitions as political cover to sneak in the extraordinarily controversial vote.

"Even with the bombshell report, however, Boehner’s office continues to deny any deal took place," according to Breitbart.

The Dictator: Will Obama Impose Tax Hikes by Imperial Decree?

By Rick Pearcey • March 4, 2015, 10:35 AM

"The White House press secretary has acknowledged that President Obama is indeed interested in using executive orders to raise taxes. The long national nightmare that is the Obama presidency gets worse," Investor's Business Daily states.

"America is a representative republic, not a banana republic. Ours is a system that's served better than any government in history," IBD observes.

"The steep price that generations of Americans have paid to establish and hold it is too high to let one president wreck it by continually stepping over his constitutional boundaries," IBD concludes.

LGBTs Lose as Scores Protest Gender-Bender Rules

By Rick Pearcey • March 3, 2015, 09:30 AM

Cheryl Chumley reports at WND:

Hundreds turned out to speak to a proposed ordinance in Charlotte, N.C., that would have allowed transgenders the legal right to use whichever bathroom they most identified with, regardless of their physical genders.

And after roughly five hours of debate, the proposal failed, 6-5, the Charlotte Observer reported.

"All over the world, there are restrooms for men and restrooms for women," GOP City Councilman Ed Driggs is quoted as saying. "It does not place an unreasonable burden on them and it does not stigmatize them."

"Kenny Smith, another Republican on the City Council, denied the measure was even about anti-discrimination," WND reports. "[This is an agenda to] impose the progressive left's new morality on our citizens,” the Charlotte Observer quotes Smith as saying.

Rosie O'Donnell Files for "Divorce" From "Wife"

By Rick Pearcey • March 2, 2015, 09:24 AM

"Rosie O’Donnell filed for a [so-called] divorce against her second [so-called] wife Michelle Rounds in Manhattan Supreme Court Friday, just two weeks after quitting The View," Fox News reports.

O'Donnell's unfortunate experiment in phony marriage has ended in failure, twice. Could it be that "Rosie O'Donnell's Oppressive Coat" is so unwearable that even she can't stand it?

Homosex "marriage" is a counterfeit. It's as real and reliable as a three-dollar bill. And no amount of huffing and puffing can change this fact. No vote or court decision can alter this reality.

People who engage in real marriage of course get divorced. But at least they've got the structure right -- that is, at least structurally, they are dealing with reality.

Their pain of separation is real, and yet it is not metastisized by the pretense of counterfeit "marriage" and the fanatical mainstreaming of that social ill into the lifeblood of human sociey.
