Memo to Rush: The Election Is Never Over

By Rick Pearcey • November 30, 2012, 12:33 PM

Talkmeister Rush Limbaugh opened his radio show today with the observation that Obama is in Pennsylvania today, campaigning as if the election were not over, arguing for his plan to raise taxes to save America from going over the "fiscal cliff."

But there is a sense in which continuing to behave as though the election is not over is not strange at all.

In modern politics, the election is never over. "Governing" is not the point. Power is. Relentless campaigning is war by other means.

Or to say again: Obama and the "Democrats know what they believe and market it very well. Republicans do not do what they believe and market it very well."

Who'll Win: Islamists or Sexy West?

By Rick Pearcey • November 30, 2012, 11:31 AM

Let's see, thinking in the longterm, the Western world wants sex, sex, sex, brought to you by respected universities of diversity, such as Harvard.

Meanwhile, Muslims are willing to die to take over the Western world. And they think Allah is on their side.

While Harvard students are just happy to be side by side.

Who could possibly come out the victor in that struggle?

French Socialist: We're Just Doing What Obama Does

By Rick Pearcey • November 30, 2012, 11:18 AM

CNBC reports:

The French politician who said Indian steel company ArcelorMittal should leave the country has told CNBC that his government is only acting like U.S. President Barack Obama.

Industry Minister Arnaud Montebourg, a member of the governing Socialist party, caused controversy last week when he said that the Indian company, which employs close to 20,000 people in France, should leave after it said it would have to close down a factory.

The French government announced on Thursday that it could nationalize the factory in question, with backing from an unnamed businessman.

Montebourg reportedly "told CNBC after a meeting with trade unions in Paris: 'Barack Obama nationalized. The Germans are nationalizing. All countries are nationalizing. I've also noticed the British nationalized 6 banks.'"

Church Sets Up Exorcist Hot Line to Deal With Demand

By Rick Pearcey • November 29, 2012, 09:21 PM

Grapevine says the White House is thus far refusing to reach out to this hotline to avail itself of exorcismatic services, despite the dramatic rise of demonic activity therein in the past 3-4 years.

Concerned observers may offer words of encouragement by contacting the White House witchboard at 202-456-1414.

Meanwhile, here's the story at the UK Independent.

Get Million Copies of Greg Gutfeld's "The Joy of Hate" Here

By Rick Pearcey • November 29, 2012, 05:25 PM

A review copy of The Joy of Hate came in the mail today. Well, I think it was today.

The book is authored, they say, by the Wilt Chamberlainesque Greg Gutfeld, who is a colleague of mine from our days interning at the National Journalism Center. This glorious event occurred in a previous century.

You probably already knew that.

I plan on saying many, many nice things about The Joy of Hate so that Gutfeld will perceive the wonder of having me on his TV show or shows or showz when I publish my book on The Joy of Resistance.

Please buy 1 million copies of Joy of Hate (a great book!) here. Check it out. Spread Joy!

FYI, Mr. Obama: Why Communism Invariably Goes Horribly Wrong

By Rick Pearcey • November 29, 2012, 02:42 PM

Steven Plaut writes at Frontpage.com:

The problem of all utopians is that they advocate systems and ideas that can only work with imaginary idyllic humans, but never with real human beings. When they discover that real human beings refuse to knuckle under and behave according to utopian expectations, the utopianists respond with violent rage. The greatest strength of capitalism is that it actually works with real human beings, people who are lazy, base, narcissistic, self-indulgent, foul-smelling, mean-spirited, and unsophisticated. Capitalism does not require idyllic fictional humans in order for it to work.

The most violent terrorists and oppressors of others have always been the utopians. The French Revolution turned violent and the guillotine was introduced to attempt to terrorize actual humans into behaving according to the expectations of the utopianists. The leaders of the Soviet Revolution were no slower or more squeamish in following the same route.

Whiny Atheists Protest Charlie Brown Christmas Special

Doug Giles writes

The atheists I grew up with in Texas were a tad bit pluckier than today’s lardy hagfish atheists who file lawsuits every winter when they see a child wrapped in swaddling clothes.

Yep, the anti-theists I used to hang out with in the Lone Star state were rugged individualists who were so busy milking this existence that they didn’t have time to bleat like a stuck sheep because a plastic baby Jesus statue endangered their delicate beliefs.

"Pro-Life" McCain: Your Time Is Up

By Rick Pearcey • November 27, 2012, 07:51 AM

Ben Johnson reports at LifeSiteNews:

Former presidential nominee John McCain is urging Republicans to confine their support for the unborn to rhetoric but abandon thoughts of enacting new legislation.

Appearing on Fox News Sunday over the weekend, the Arizona senator said the GOP needs “a bigger tent” to be successful in presidential elections, and part of that means dropping social issues important to conservatives.

Echoing the talking point that men should not weigh in on a female issue McCain said, “I don’t think anybody like me --” then pointed to himself before changing gears abruptly. “I can state my position on abortion, but other than that, leave the issue alone, when we are in the kind of economic situation and, frankly, national security situation we’re in.”

This is the counsel of Republican collapse. As I have written elsewhere, it is a collapse that

. . . . began after the Reagan administration. Reagan understood that American liberty is rooted in a particular political philosophy. It's a vision that declares independence under God instead of dependence under the state. Because Reagan understood there is a vision-for-freedom, he also understood the need to be able to explain and articulate that vision-for-freedom. Unfortunately, then-Vice President George Bush (the elder), despite eight years of seeing Reagan in action, and of seeing that kind of vision win landslide victories at the polls, never seemed to appreciate "the vision thing."

And so the Reagan vision of Americans knowing the "freedoms that were intended for us by the Founding Fathers" (from "A Time for Choosing") would be lost. In addition, the rationale and ability to articulate that vision would be lost. More than that, resources to stand up against a contrary vision would be lost -- even if that contrary vision is false.

We hear today many calls for a third party. I'd settle for a second party.

Pravda: "Obama's Fools and Stalin's Fools Share the Same Drink of Illusion"

By Rick Pearcey • November 26, 2012, 07:44 AM

Xavier Lerma writes at Pravda:

Recently, Obama has been re-elected for a 2nd term by an illiterate society and he is ready to continue his lies of less taxes while he raises them. He gives speeches of peace and love in the world while he promotes wars as he did in Egypt, Libya and Syria. . . .

He is a Communist without question promoting the Communist Manifesto without calling it so. How shrewd he is in America.

His cult of personality mesmerizes those who cannot go beyond their ignorance. They will continue to follow him like those fools who still praise Lenin and Stalin in Russia.

Obama's fools and Stalin's fools share the same drink of illusion.

"Russia lost its' civil war with the Reds and millions suffered torture and death for almost 75 years under the tyranny of the United Soviet Socialist Republic," Lerma concludes.

"Russians survived with a new and stronger faith in God and ever growing Christian Church. The question is how long will the once 'Land of the Free' remain the United Socialist States of America? Their suffering has only begun."

Don't Worry, Ladies, It Was a Transgender Spy Cam

By Rick Pearcey • November 25, 2012, 05:53 PM

CBS 13 in Sacramento reports:

Women were shocked to learn that they were being secretly videotaped while using the restroom at a Vallejo Long John Silvers restaurant.

Police say a teenage employee at the fast food restaurant was capturing their every move.

“That’s disgusting,” said one woman. “It’s a complete violation.”

Female residents were creeped out learning what one customer allegedly found inside the Long John Silvers.

“In Long John Silvers? I go over there all the time. I used to use the restroom too,” said another woman.

Meanwhile, enlightened education accepts the unfounded notion that there is no real difference between the sexes and that gender, orientation, marriage, and family are realy just artificial constructs created by humans. Which can therefore be decreated by humans.

In addition, in a society where abortion is not rare and is always unsafe (ask the babies), those who live outside of the womb, especially those who think they are empowered by the state to invade the privacy of the fetus, up to the point of killing preborn humans, really have no standing upon which to protest when their post-utero privacy is invaded.

In public bathrooms, for example.

You see, the distinction between public and private is just a social construct, as well, it can be argued. And it is probably rooted in that non-evolved One Percenter attachment to private property that Marx warned us about and Obama promises to free us from, so centralized government power can ensure the fair redistribution of life, liberty, and happiness.

In fact, liberalism affirms women and privacy, but only as "sizzle." In substance, liberalism destroys both diversity and privacy.

In a closed-down scheme of merely naturalistic "equality," eventually eveything becomes one -- no Creator, no heaven or hell, no male or female, no in or out, no public or private, but all is one, all is unity, all is tolerated.

But when distinctions disappear, the distinction between safe spaces (women protected in restrooms, for example) as opposed to unsafe spaces (women not protected in restrooms, for example) disappears as well.

It's not supposed to exist, but welcome to Hell anyway.

Ugandan President Repents of Personal, National Sins

By Rick Pearcey • November 24, 2012, 08:18 PM

Michael Carl reports at WND:

The Ugandan newssite New Vision reports President Yoweri Museveni celebrated Uganda’s 50th anniversary of independence from Britain at the National Jubilee Prayers event by publicly repenting of his personal sin and the sins of the nation.

"I stand here today to close the evil past, and especially in the last 50 years of our national leadership history and at the threshold of a new dispensation in the life of this nation. I stand here on my own behalf and on behalf of my predecessors to repent. We ask for your forgiveness," Museveni prayed.

"We confess these sins, which have greatly hampered our national cohesion and delayed our political, social and economic transformation. We confess sins of idolatry and witchcraft which are rampant in our land. We confess sins of shedding innocent blood, sins of political hypocrisy, dishonesty, intrigue and betrayal," Museveni said.

"Forgive us of sins of pride, tribalism and sectarianism; sins of laziness, indifference and irresponsibility; sins of corruption and bribery that have eroded our national resources; sins of sexual immorality, drunkenness and debauchery; sins of unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred and revenge; sins of injustice, oppression and exploitation; sins of rebellion, insubordination, strife and conflict," Museveni prayed.

President Museveni also lifted up his nation to God, praying, "We want to dedicate this nation to you so that you will be our God and guide. We want Uganda to be known as a nation that fears God and as a nation whose foundations are firmly rooted in righteousness and justice to fulfill what the Bible says in Psalm 33:12: Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. A people you have chosen as your own."

Really? "Extreme" Limbaugh, Tea Party Cost Romney the Election?

By Rick Pearcey • November 24, 2012, 01:03 PM

Lloyd Marcus writes at American Thinker:

Word on the political street from GOP consultants and the left is that Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Party cost Romney the election. We conservatives are advised to "moderate our tone" and back away from our "extremist ideas." . . .

I say, "Hogwash."

Here's my take:

A case could be made that Romney was the perfect establishment GOP candidate, a pure expression of the GOP establishment ideal. He was a far better candidate than John McCain. And, yet, ultimately, Romney was unelectable. . . .

If America is to survive as America -- that is, as a nation of freedom and dignity (rooted in the Creator who is the basis for unalienable rights) -- the enduring mainstream of American identity needs a national platform for unadulterated cultural-political expression.

If the house-divided GOP establishment continues to reject this message, either the GOP will die, America will die, or a third party will rise up to speak with a clarion voice.

One way or another, a non-compromised expression of the American ideal must have a clear and coherent voice on the political and cultural scene.

One way or another, the extremism of the Democrat Party, which aggressively wars politically and culturally against the rules of freedom, must be resisted and overcome.

One way or another, the extreme racism, bigotry, and passionate hatreds now organized against the principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness -- hatreds that this hour have an officially recognized home in the party of Obama and the Democrats -- these must be resisted and overcome.

Of course, it is possible America as America might still pass away. And she certainly will if the anti-freedom rules of radicals such as Barack Obama and the Democrats have their way.

But let us at least give America a fighting chance to reaffirm the birthright of every human being, to unlock again the potential of every individual endowed by our Creator "with certain unalienable rights."

And as long as one fights, victory is possible. Freedom under God can break out anywhere, anytime.

Big Brotherhood: Egypt's Morsi Takes Dictatorial Powers

By Rick Pearcey • November 23, 2012, 09:13 AM

Associated Press reports:

Egypt's president [Mohammed Morsi] on Thursday issued constitutional amendments that placed him above judicial oversight and ordered the retrial of Hosni Mubarak for the killing of protesters in last year's uprising. . . .

The Egyptian leader also decreed that all decisions he has made since taking office in June and until a new constitution is adopted and a new parliament is elected -- which is not expected before next spring -- are not subject to appeal in court or by any other authority.

"The moves effectively remove any oversight on Morsi, the longtime Muslim Brotherhood figure who became Egypt's first freely elected president last summer after the Feb. 11, 2011 fall of autocrat Hosni Mubarak," AP reports. "They come as Morsi is riding high on lavish praise from President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton for mediating an end to eight days of fighting between Israel and Gaza's Hamas rulers."

Note: Morsi is now a dictator. This is after he "narrowly won the presidency -- about 52 percent of the vote -- to become Egypt's first freely elected and civilian president," AP reports.

Free elections do not guarantee freedom. Any country that elects a national leadership that rejects the rules of freedom opens wide the door to unfreedom.

As his record demonstrates, Barack Obama is an extremist who sees the rules of freedom, as set forth in the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence, as a barrier to his agenda. He narrowly won re-election on November 6, taking the popular vote of 50.6%, over against Mitt Romney's 47.8%.

Action: Coalition of Black Pastors Targeting Counterfeit Homosex "Marriage"

By Rick Pearcey • November 22, 2012, 10:56 AM

Rev. William Owens, who heads CAAP (Coalition of African American Pastors), is not taking pro-homosexualist Obama's attack on marriage sitting down.

"We have an agenda next year where we're going to educate people as to what they're doing and the damage that they are causing to their families and the future of this country," Owens told OneNewsNow.

"The education process, according to Owens, needs to originate from the pulpit, small groups, parents, young people and students -- all working toward rebuilding a strong biblical foundation for the country," reports OneNewsNow.

Video: TV Anchors Resign on Air

By Rick Pearcey • November 21, 2012, 08:53 PM

From Yahoo! News "The Lookout," Dylan Stableford reports:

Cindy Michaels and Tony Consiglio, anchors for ABC's WVII affiliate in Bangor, Maine, announced their joint resignations, citing a dispute with management over journalistic practices.

The Bangor Daily News reports the resignations like this: "Citing a longstanding battle with upper management over journalistic practices at their Bangor TV stations, news co-anchors Cindy Michaels and Tony Consiglio announced their resignations at the end of Tuesday’s 6 p.m. newscast."

“I just wanted to know that I was doing the best job I could and was being honest and ethical as a journalist, and I thought there were times when I wasn’t able to do that,” Consiglio is quoted as saying.

“It’s a culmination of ongoing occurrences that took place the last several years and basically involved upper management practices that we both strongly disagreed with,” Michaels reportedly said. “It’s a little complicated, but we were expected to do somewhat unbalanced news, politically, in general.

We look forward to learning in more detail why these two news anchors resigned. Perhaps their experience will shed additional light on the crisis that characterizes what is now the formerly mainstream media.

Everyone one of us is responsible for what we know. And part of being salt and light in this dark world is to learn from experience, take a stand when such a stand is ethically required, and then to help light the way for others. This, too, is part of "love thy neighbor."

Here is video of the surprising on-air resignations by news anchors Cindy Michaels and Tony Consiglio.

Report: TSA Exposed Breasts of Rep. Ralph Hall's Teen Grandniece

By Rick Pearcey • November 21, 2012, 02:19 PM

Update: TSA internal report blames 17-year-old girl's "'loose-fitting' dress."

Just remember, boys and girls, a government that gives you condoms (after unconstitutional pilfering from workers via oppressive taxation) is the same government that can expose your breasts. And that's just for starters.

From emails to abortions to TSA exposing breasts, extremists in America have opened the door to a radical lack of privacy and a radical, inhumane submission to the masters of the federal plantation. Uppity slaves need not apply.

Moms, Dads . . .  are you just going to sit around and let this happen? Or are you going to get in the face of tyranny and not back down until justice and peace, consistent with the rules of freedom, have finally won the day?

Let us work and pray for a massive uncontainable peaceful revolutionary movement that removes tyranny from this land and restores freedom to the home of the brave.

Former RNC Chairman Makes Case for Counterfeit Homosex "Marriage"

By Rick Pearcey • November 21, 2012, 10:28 AM

Eddie Scarry writes at The Blaze:

Ken Mehlman, former RNC chairman and 2004 campaign manager for George W. Bush, makes the conservative case for gay marriage in today’s Wall Street Journal.

"Some misperceive the issue of marriage equality as exclusively progressive," Mehlman writes. "Yet what could be more conservative than support for more freedom and less government? And what freedom is more basic than the right to marry the person you love? Smaller, less intrusive government surely includes an individual deciding whom to marry. Allowing civil marriage for same-sex couples will cultivate community stability, encourage fidelity and commitment, and foster family values. . . ."

Utter nonsense, of course. But wrapped in the typical liberalist marketing language selling the "sizzle" of "freedom," "equality," and "love," while in fact camouflaging a product loaded with hate, discrimination, and intolerance.

That would be hatred for the rules of freedom (rooted in the Creator who gives both unalienable rights and liberating norms for married love and human sexuality).

That would be discrimination against the wonder of the male-female diversity, oppressing vive la différence with a steamroller of mono-dimensional sameness and flatness (Oh, yeah, "equality").

And that would be intolerance against people who think for themselves and prefer real marriage, real family, and real diversity to pseudo-intellectual counterfeits all gussied up for the county fair in liberaland hickville (imposed by government extremists from Washington).

Arguing there is a "conservative case for 'gay' marriage" is as sound as arguing there is a conservative case for counterfeit money. You can make it, but only fools bank on it.

Finally, a word to the GOP: A house-divided cannot stand. The choice is yours -- the rules of freedom vs. the rules for radicals. Choose freedom and you will live. Choose the extreme radicalism of Mehlman and company and you will not live. Remain a house-divided and you will collapse.

The antithesis is real. Say yes to reality. And throw the well-baited counterfeits of hate, discrimination, and intolerance onto the ash heap of history.

French Protests: Marriage = One Man + One Woman

By Rick Pearcey • November 20, 2012, 08:12 AM

Thaddeus Balinski reports at LifeSiteNews:

Hundreds of thousands of traditional marriage supporters demonstrated against same-sex “marriage” in France over the weekend.

On Saturday, a nationwide rally drew an estimated 200,000 protesters in Paris according to organizers, with tens of thousands more attending rallies throughout the country.

Almost 30,000 traditional marriage supporters demonstrated in the city of Lyon, according to a Reuters report. Police there reported that 40 counter-protesters were arrested after they attempted to disrupt the rally.

Note: The issue here is perhaps better framed not as "traditional marriage" vesus "gay marriage" but as real marriage -- marriage per se -- versus its homosexualist counterfeit, an artificial social construct that extremists seek to impose.

Or you can put it like this:

Pro-homosexualist extremists desperately want people to think of their radicalism as a civil rights issue -- but the kitty kat is let out of the bag once one realizes that acceptance of the "gay" agenda requires the rejection of the basis for any kind of humane and civil society.

You can find that basis expressed the Declaration of Independence, which roots unalienable human rights in the Creator, and not in the state, activist groups, nature "red in tooth and claw," a politician's scary know-it-all smile, or last week's "gender" truth at "Dude, We Are Totally With It" University.

We commend those companies that respect marriage and think with their brains instead of their pseudo-intellectual "transgender parts."

We brazenly commend a politics and polity that courageously affirms the truly liberating family norms endowed upon humanity by "the laws of nature and of nature's God."

We wantonly stand against extremist homosexualist hatreds that discriminate against the institution of marriage, that disrespect the male-female diversity of marriage, and despise the Creator's transcultural norms for human sexuality and married community.

"Go ahead, sweeten this hatred by calling it 'equality,' if it makes you feel better," I have written elsewhere. "But it's as real as a three-dollar bill. And, if truth be told, it's cruel and unloving to try to impose this brummagem upon society."

The Decline of Focus on the Family

By Rick Pearcey • November 19, 2012, 09:12 PM

Joseph Farah writes at WND:

Like many great cultural institutions founded by great Christian men -- Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, the New York Times, yes, even the United States of America
-- [Focus on the Family] lost the Christian vision and passion of the founders.

What am I talking about?

I’m talking about the new non-confrontational, wimpy, smiley-faced, lukewarm Focus on the Family as personified by its new leader, Jim Daly, who seems all-too eager to distance himself and the organization he now heads from the legacy of Dobson.

Daly, apparently, also states that he wants to distance Christians from the Republican Party.

Farah quotes Daly as saying, “If the Christian message has been too wrapped around the axle of the Republican Party, then a) that’s our fault, and b) we’ve got to rethink that.”

"What’s funny about that," Farah comments, is this:

a) Daly sounds just like the leadership of the Republican Party who, like him, don’t want to stand up forcefully and passionately strong for biblical values, and

b) What he’s really talking about is giving up on one of the few cultural and political institutions in which Christians even have a voice and a seat at the table.

Withdrawal from politics is, of course, not an option, just as withdrawal from business, medicine, science, the arts, or church life is not an option.

This does not require, or even come close to requiring, that one identifies Christianity with the Republican Party. That is a silly and easily avoidable error, and I can count on maybe two fingers the number of people I know unsophisticated enough to buy into that mistake.

Rather, all of life is meant to be lived in liberating community with God and man -- and any group or individual that shrinks from his place in this struggle is on the wrong side of the Creator's demand that we be salt and light in this broken world.

Sometimes we can make nice. Other times we have to clear the Temple. It's not as if God Almighty has been unclear about this: Being a human being is not for the faint of heart.

Sex Therapists Want to Legalize "Virtual" Child Porn

By Rick Pearcey • November 19, 2012, 03:50 PM

Ian Sparks reports at the UK Daily Mail:

Two sex therapists have sparked outrage in the Netherlands by calling for "virtual" child porn to be legalized to relieve the urges of paedophiles.

Amsterdam hospital sexologists Rik van Lunsen and Erik van Beek claim allowing perverts to view drawings or computer-generated images of children would "regulate their desires."

The sexual revolution is built on the concept that human beings are merely animals (as opposed to human beings endowed by the Creator with "certain unalienable rights"), who therefore respond as such in a whole range of circumstances, including sexual circumstances.

Throw on top of this ill-formed worldview the academic socially contrived construct of "sexual orientation" and you have a rationale for treating child porn and adult-child sex and just another kind of orientation ("God," nature or society "made me this way!") that shalt not be judged, because, after all, we're all merely animals in the final analysis.

The so-called sexual revolution is a regressive reactionary devolution too small in its worldview for the dignity and freedom of actual human beings created in the image of God.

Yes, San Franciso, there is a difference between diversity and perversity. The pursuit of happiness has nothing to do with the sexual pursuit of your neighbor's children. A humane and civil society knows the difference.

Rep. Allen West Wins Key Vote Ruling

By Rick Pearcey • November 17, 2012, 11:42 AM

Jason Howerton reports at The Blaze

The St. Lucie County Canvassing Board has ordered the retabulation of all the county’s early votes in the highly contested congressional race between Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) and Democrat Patrick Murphy, according to Jeffrey Scott Shapiro, a volunteer lawyer for the West campaign. The board voted 2-1 in favor of recounting the votes. . . .

West needs to gain just 249 votes from those ballots to trigger a statutory recount under state law, Shapiro said. West gained 535 votes in the initial recount of 16,275 early voting ballots, making it theoretically possible that the outspoken congressman could pick up the required votes to force a recount.

Re: Karl Rove -- "The Architect" . . . of Defeat

By Rick Pearcey • November 17, 2012, 10:32 AM

"A surefire recipe for the death of the Republican Party is to continue to listen to this finger-pointing, blame-gaming architect of defeat, discouragement and division among the rank and file of the party," writes Joseph Farah in a column challenging Karl Rove's role in Barack Obama's defeat of Mitt Romney.

"The honorable thing and the right thing for Rove to do would be to admit his own failure and move on with his life -- giving others a chance to steer the ship next time," Farah writes.

Instead of admitting his failure, says Farah, Rove "will continue to attack and marginalize all those in the Republican Party with whom he disagrees -- even to the point of violating Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment and 'joking' about murdering them -- as he did with" GOP Missouri candidate for U.S. Senate Todd Akin.

My argument is this:

If America is to survive as America -- that is, as a nation of freedom and dignity (rooted in the Creator who is the basis for unalienable rights) -- the enduring mainstream of American identity needs a national platform for unadulterated cultural-political expression.

If the house-divided GOP establishment continues to reject this message, either the GOP will die, America will die, or a third party will rise up to speak with a clarion voice.

One way or another, a non-compromised expression of the American ideal must have a clear and coherent voice on the political and cultural scene.

One way or another, the extremism of the Democratic Party, which aggressively wars politically and culturally against the rules of freedom, must be resisted and overcome.

In other words, the GOP must embrace, root and branch, with clarity, the rules of freedom. Equally so, the GOP must reject, root and branch, with clarity, the extremist rules of hatred and anti-freedom embraced by Obama and the Democrats.

On this basis, a party of freedom and humanity can win.

On this basis, a humane vision rooted in the rules of freedom can defeat a dyfunctional vision rooted in the rules of radical unfreedom.

And on this basis, a candidate and party of freedom and humanity can win a victory worth winning.

No free-thinking person created in the image God wants to live in subservience and dependence upon a failed and failing Washington-centric idol.

Red and yellow, black and white -- we're all better than that.

Bible Student Confesses to Killing Spiritual Leader's Wife

By Rick Pearcey • November 16, 2012, 05:36 PM

Rachel Quigley reports at the UK Daily Mail:

The Bible student who confessed to killing a spiritual leader's wife told police he was acting under the orders of her huband, who told him to make it look like suicide.

The body of Bethany Deaton, 27, from Kansas City, was found in a van on October 30 with a bag over head, an empty bottle of pills and a suicide note.

Her husband Tyler Deaton is now under investigation in her death, prosecutors announced yesterday.

Micah Moore, 23, confessed to murdering Bethany on Friday and said he did it to prevent her from telling her therapist she was being raped by men in their spiritual group. He also said the assaults were recorded on his iPad. . . .

Witnesses in the case who have not been named, said the group first met at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and had moved to Kansas City to participate in the International House of Prayer, an evangelical missions organization.

What kind of "spiritual" nonsense would lead someone to accept orders from a "spiritual leader" to murder the spiritual leader's wife?

Sadly, this kind of abuse is a possibility, not just generally in a broken world full of very imperfect people, but also specifically within ingrown, cult-like groups that operate on the basis of "revelation," "I really believe God gave me a verse in Scripture" ("and now I get to run your life") and "God is still revealing his vision for us" ("Meet my son, Moses") -- as if human beings already do not have an objective, real-world and verifiable road-map to living available in information given in the Biblical data.

What does the Creator who endowed human beings with unalienable rights also say? "Test Everything." That includes you, Mr. Moses "I just got some goosebumps in the shower." And you too, Ms. Prophet of the mind-meld.

So, you see, "worldliness" is not just something that happens out there in big, bad politics or business, let us say. Some of the most profound and damaging example of deep evil can occur right under your super "spiritual" noses.

For example, in your favorite Christian bookstore -- where the owners set up a raffle designed to make a favorite customer win.

Or consider a well-respected a pastor who succumbs to tempations to play the God-card and lord it over his flock and be treated like some kind of god. I mean, he's written 35 books! Spiritual giant!

Or consider a Christian school that asks staff and faculty to sign ethically compromised legal documents, the very signing of which is an act of lying, perjury. Or maybe the secular-spiritual divide really is what rules the roost. Forget all that worldview stuff when it comes to power and money.

Interesting, isn't it, that these people who claim special access to God via dreams, revelations, and ongoing visions somehow haven't gotten the message universally available to "we the little people"?

That message is already in Scripture for anyone to read and apply
-- all about not lying to students, not manipulating trusting parents, and not requiring staff or faculty to behave dishonorably.

What this suggests, thinking more broadly, is that the "challenges one faces in politics are no different in principle from the challenges of living as salt and light in any calling of life today, and in any aspect of society," as I have written elsewhere. In addition:

Politics, education, the arts, recreation -- all of life is meant to be lived in community with God and man.

But, equally, in a broken world, each of these can be a distraction and a lure away from our true calling.

A pastor, church, or Christian who fails to apply -- across all of life, including political life -- the verifiable, publicly actionable wisdom given by a knowable Creator is failing to be salt and light.

When that happens, society suffers, as is evident in the news and events of life in America today.

What tragedy and heartbreak is unfolding in Kansas City. And yet how pleased the Devil must be at his success in preparing the battleground for catastrophes such as this -- in the stores, on campus, in church, and even inside the prayer closet. When it comes to resisting evil, resisting this nonsense, now is always a good time to revolt, and here are four action points to get started.

Texas Gov. Perry Says No to Obamacare State Exchanges

By Rick Pearcey • November 16, 2012, 04:07 PM

Tony Lee writes at Breibart:

On Thursday, Texas Gov. Rick Perry sent a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to officially let her know Texas would not partner with the federal government in setting up health exchanges under Obamacare.

Perry had indicated he would not set up a state healthcare exchange, especially as he eyes another gubernatorial run in 2014 and potentially a presidential run in 2016. He made it official a day before Friday's deadline. Sebelius has since extended the deadline to December 14.

As self-governining entities under the Constitution, the individuals states should reject any form of interchange with Washington, D.C., that violates the Constitution and Declaration of Independence.

Washington-centrism violates the rules of freedom and seeks to enslave a people of freedom.

If Petraeus Said It Was Al Qaeda, Who Changed His Memo?

By Rick Pearcey • November 16, 2012, 03:46 PM

Fox News reports:

Former CIA Director David Petraeus stoked the controversy over the Obama administration's handling of the Libya terror attack, testifying Friday that references to "Al Qaeda involvement" were stripped from his agency's original talking points -- while other intelligence officials were unable to say who changed the memo, according to a top lawmaker who was briefed.

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., told Fox News that intelligence officials who testified in a closed-door hearing a day earlier, including Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and Acting CIA Director Mike Morell, said they did not know who changed the talking points. He said they went out to multiple departments, including the State Department, National Security Council, Justice Department and White House.

It's also entirely possible what while the Petraeus memo was making the rounds, the White House was developing its own set of talking points designed to protect the re-election prospects of Barack Obama.

"Passing on an opportunity to end Obama's anti-Christian agenda solely because he is black like you is a Judas betrayal," Marcus writes.

Those "Extremist" Republicans

By Rick Pearcey • November 15, 2012, 10:05 AM

"The fact that 2 million fewer people voted for Mitt Romney than for John McCain should be a huge wake-up call to the Republican establishment," Joseph Farah writes at WND.

"If they choose to nominate another milquetoast candidate in 2016," Farah continues, "they might as well not even compete. If they want to alienate their evangelical and conservative base, there is going to need to be a third party that represents them. (Now’s the time to start building it, by the way, not in 2016.)"

If Romney wasn't a "milquetoast candidate," he was certainly toast by the end of the election.

I have previously argued in favor of Romney, noting that "Obama is a leftist ideologue who rejects the rules of freedom. Romney is not a leftist ideologue who rejects the rules of freedom" and that "Romney is not all we want, but Obama is all we do not want."

A case could be made that Romney was the perfect establishment GOP candidate, a pure expression of the GOP establishment ideal. He was a far better candidate than John McCain. And, yet, ultimately, Romney was unelectable (setting aside for the moment the ample evidence that electoral criminality -- fraud -- may have "won" the contest for Obama).

One way or another, the extreme racism, bigotry, and passionate hatreds now organized against the principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness -- hatreds that this hour have an officially recognized home in the party of Obama and the Democrats -- these must be resisted and overcome.

But let us at least give America a fighting chance to reaffirm the birthright of every human being, to unlock again the potential of every individual endowed by our Creator "with certain unalienable rights."

Sarah Palin on Obama Press Conference: Who Is Running Our Country?

By Rick Pearcey • November 14, 2012, 01:29 PM

Former Alaska governor and VP candidate Sarah Pailn asks a basic question on her Facebook page today: "Who is running our country?"

Palin writes, "We've got a CIA Director sharing security info with his mistress using an unsecure gmail account. We've got the delusional Susan Rice blaming the death of an ambassador on a Youtube video. We've got Iran firing on one of our drones a week before the election. We've got the White House either ignorant of or covering up all of this."

All of this raises a question: "Who is minding the store?"

Palin continues: "Everywhere we look we see the rank incompetence or corruption of the people who are supposedly running our country and our major institutions. Let's hope that responsible reporters at Obama's press conference today ask the right questions Americans deserve answers to."

Palin concludes with a question to Obama: "As our nation's chief executive you claim to be unaware of the most important and tragic situations we're facing; so, as a former chief executive, I'd like to know how long it takes for your staff to tell you things like: 'Sir, your CIA Director is under investigation'?"

Tyranny Watch: Valerie Jarrett's Extremist, Radical Roots

By Rick Pearcey • November 14, 2012, 07:44 AM

John Perazzo writes at Frontpage.com:

Like so many Obama appointees, Valerie Jarrett bears the unmistakable imprint of the president’s ideology.

She is a leftist to her core, with notable personal ties to the communist movement.

Jarrett’s maternal grandfather, for instance, was a Chicagoan named Robert Taylor, who in the 1940s was involved with such communist fronts as the American Peace Mobilization and the Chicago Civil Liberties Committee.

Also a member of these groups was Frank Marshall Davis, the communist journalist who in the 1970s would mentor a young Barack Obama.

Jarrett played a "key role in then-Senator Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign," Perazzo writes. "Following the election, Jarrett was appointed as a senior advisor and assistant to Mr. Obama, who admittedly consults Jarrett on every important political decision he makes."

Moreover, apparently, when Jarrett speaks, Obama speaks. "Indeed," Perazzo writes, "the president once told a New York Times reporter that he completely trusts Jarrett "to speak for me, particularly when we’re dealing with delicate issues.”

What does this mean? What this means is that radical extremists who despise the rules of freedom occupy establishment Washington.

Yes, the establishment, the so-called mainstream, can be extreme.

Extremism is not determined by counting noses but by measuring the distance that radicals, even if there are many of them, have departed from the enduring center of human freedom and dignity (see, for example, the Decaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution).

The task of every American who loves his neighbor, who respects the rules of freedom and the Creator (that is, not Washington) who has endowed humanity with unalienable rights, is to remove these extremists from power. And replace them with lovers of freedom.

Nine members of the Wisconsin state legislature say they plan to back a bill to arrest federal officials who try to implement Obamacare.

The state’s Republican Gov. Scott Walker must decide by Friday whether the state will draft a health care exchange plan under Obamacare or surrender the task to the federal government.

Just because Obama was re-elected does not mean he's above the Constitution,” Republican state representative Chris Kapenga told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Politics an Idol That Distracts Christians From What's Really Important?

By Rick Pearcey • November 13, 2012, 10:47 AM

Politics can certainly be a distraction.

And yet, any aspect of creation can unduly distract and lead to idolatry -- including caring for the lost, sick, and so on.

The challenges one faces in politics are no different in principle from the challenges of living as salt and light in any calling of life today, and in any aspect of society.

A few examples: Pastors and churches are tempted to lord it over their flocks and be treated as gods; Christian businesses and bookstores equally face temptations to lie, cheat, and steal; Christian musicians face the temptation of settling for less than excellence and instead produce "praise" music that's better suited for the gods of elevators.

Spencer: Liberals Arguing Like Brownshirts

By Rick Pearcey • November 12, 2012, 08:10 AM

Robert Spencer at American Thinker analyzes methods of scorn, ridicule, and "anti-debate" used by English comedian Russell Brand to attack Islam-critic Pamela Geller when she recently appeared on his Los Angeles-produced TV show.

These methods, Spencer argues, are the "tactics of hyenas, of totalitarians, of the Nazi brownshirts who used to show up at the lectures of dissenting professors, not to argue with them, but only to heckle them, threaten them, and demoralize them, so as to intimidate them into silence."

Petraeus, Benghazi, and Gun Running to Jihadists

By Rick Pearcey • November 10, 2012, 06:45 PM

Aaron Klein reports for WND from Jerusalem:

The speculation surrounding the sudden resignation of CIA Chief General David Petraeus is focusing in large part on his role in an alleged cover-up of the attacks against the U.S. mission in Benghazi this past September.

Perhaps overlooked is the CIA’s role in purportedly using the Benghazi mission to coordinate U.S. aid to Syrian opposition groups and information those same insurgents include jihadists openly acting under the al-Qaida umbrella.

One week before he was slated to testify before Congress on the Benghazi debacle, Petraeus on Friday night announced his resignation, citing an extramarital affair, and it was reported he will no longer testify.

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., the House Homeland Security Committee chairman, charged in an interview with CNN that Petraeus is “at the center of this, and there are answers that only he has.” King was referring to the Benghazi attacks.

Asked if he will still call for Petraeus testify despite his resignation, Rep. King replied, “Absolutely, to me, he’s an absolutely necessary witness.”

The Real Reason Petraeus Resigned

By Rick Pearcey • November 10, 2012, 05:56 PM

Kris Zane writes at the Western Center for Journalism:

Petraeus towed the party line with the video but refused to fall on the sword and say the CIA gave this stand down order, thus implicating that it was Obama who had denied help to both the consulate and CIA annex which later came under attack.

And when you cross a Chicago thug like Obama, payback is swift and lethal.

Petraeus needed to be taken out -- but after the election -- and before he was scheduled to testify under oath this time to Congress about what he knew about Benghazi.

"Petraeus’ resignation had nothing to do with an affair," Zane asserts.

"In fact, the affair had been over for months. The FBI has been investigating literally thousands of emails that Petraeus had sent to his former paramour, biographer Paula Broadwell, for longer than that and could have dropped the guillotine months before if they wanted to."

If not the stated rationale, then what?

Zane concludes: "It was rather about paybacks and keeping the American people in the dark about the real reason Petraeus had to be kept quiet about Benghazi: gunrunning. Gunrunning of tens of thousands of Libyan weapons to the al-Qaeda-linked Syrian rebels."

Congressman: Either Petraeus Volunteers or He "Will Be Subpoenaed"

By Rick Pearcey • November 10, 2012, 02:33 PM

Madeleine Morgenstern reports at The Blaze:

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) on Friday vowed to subpoena outgoing CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus if he won’t testify voluntarily about the Sept. 11 attacks in Benghazi, Libya.

Gowdy said that while he regretted the "personal ramifications" of Petraeus’ sudden resignation over an extramarital affair, it would not stop Congress from hearing from him about the assault on the consulate that left four Americans dead.

"I hope we don’t have to subpoena a four-star general and the former CIA director," the congressman told Greta Van Susteren on Fox News. "I hope he would come voluntarily, but if he won’t, he will be subpoenaed."

Text: Petraeus Letter of Resignation From the CIA

By Rick Pearcey • November 10, 2012, 12:17 PM

The following message was sent to CIA employees the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 9, 2012:

Message from the Director

Yesterday afternoon, I went to the White House and asked the President to be allowed, for personal reasons, to resign from my position as D/CIA. After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours. This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation.

As I depart Langley, I want you to know that it has been the greatest of privileges to have served with you, the officers of our Nation's Silent Service, a work force that is truly exceptional in every regard. Indeed, you did extraordinary work on a host of critical missions during my time as director, and I am deeply grateful to you for that.

Teddy Roosevelt once observed that life's greatest gift is the opportunity to work hard at work worth doing. I will always treasure my opportunity to have done that with you and I will always regret the circumstances that brought that work with you to an end.

Thank you for your extraordinary service to our country, and best wishes for continued success in the important endeavors that lie ahead for our country and our Agency.

With admiration and appreciation,

David H. Petraeus

Timing of Petraeus Resignation: "Just Too Perfect for the Obama Administration"

By Rick Pearcey • November 10, 2012, 09:29 AM

Madeleine Morgenstern reports at The Blaze:

Fox News analyst Ralph Peters on Friday called the timing of Gen. David Petraeus’ sudden resignation as CIA director “just too perfect for the Obama administration” and speculated that "tough Chicago guys" held onto knowledge of the affair until they needed to push the spy chief out.

Peters, a retired Army lieutenant colonel, said on Fox News that just as the administration initially called the assault on the Benghazi consulate on the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks "purely coincidence," it’s again "purely coincidence" for the affair to surface after the election but before Petraeus went to Capitol Hill for questioning about Benghazi.

"As an old intelligence analyst, the way I read this -- and I could be totally wrong, this is my interpretation," Petraeus is quoted as saying, "is that the administration was unhappy with Petraeus not playing ball 100 percent on their party line story."

Louisiana Residents Petition to Secede

By Rick Pearcey • November 9, 2012, 08:45 PM

Drew Zahn reports at WND:

On Nov. 6, Americans voted to return Barack Obama to the White House; then on Nov. 7, some folks in Louisiana petitioned the White House to peaceably withdraw their state from the Union. . . .

According to the White House website, the petition was created by Michael E. (full last name not provided) of Slidell, La., the day after the election and has since been electronically signed by a few hundred people, most -- but not all -- of whom hail from the Pelican State.

“We petition the Obama administration to: Peacefully grant the State of Louisiana to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government,” the petition reads.

There is a certain symmetry in this. After all, as the record shows, Obama and the Democrats have already seceded from the Declaration and U.S. Constitution.

Violent Pro-Abortion Protesters Attack Cathedral

By Rick Pearcey • November 8, 2012, 12:48 PM

Matthew Hoffman reports at LifeSiteNews:

Pro-abortion protesters gathered to menace the Cathedral of Buenos Aires on November 1 assaulted a protective contingent of riot police, but were eventually repulsed to cheers of “Viva Cristo Rey!” (Long Live Christ the King) by Catholics who had come to aid in the Cathedral’s defense.

Protesters, many of them feminists who had come to commemorate the anniversary of a legislative initiative that failed in 2011 to legalize the killing of the unborn, threw eggs, spat, brandished flagpoles, and ultimately launched a violent attack on police, sending at least one to the hospital. They chanted slogans calling the Catholic Church “trash,” denouncing its pro-life views, and accusing priests of being sex abusers.

By Rick Pearcey • November 7, 2012, 03:13 PM

The GOP loses because --

It is a house divided, and houses divided cannot stand.

If the GOP does not unify -- in philosophy & tactics, root & branch -- under the Constitution & Declaration, it in fact offers no real alternative to the statists, the fascists, the passionate haters, and the Orwellian takers, and thereby wins its defeats to demagogues and tyrants promising autobahns and cellphones.

Political parties that lack a unifying political vision perish -- and a people of freedom can be sustained only by a vision for freedom. Which way, GOP? Which way, America?

Also, if the GOP wants to win elections, it needs to pay great attention to the priority of culture:

A truncated political message of freedom (GOP) cannot overcome a comprehensive cultural message of unfreedom (Dems). This is the case even if the Democrat message is false. "Politics is downstream from culture."

Victory of the Demagogue

By Rick Pearcey • November 7, 2012, 09:30 AM

Hyatt Seligman writes at American Thinker:

Our newly re-elected, incompetent President is good at one thing: Chicago style politics. Kill your opponent by character assassination and promise freebies to your base. That's exactly how he beat Mitt Romney. . . .

The community organizing, empty-suit incumbent won by pandering to the Democratic base and defaming and distorting Romney into an evil caricature. His simple plan of dividing and conquering through fear, envy and class warfare trumped all else, barely. Appeals to race, gender and emotion triumphed over economic reason and self-interest and the good of the country.

And what is Obama's base?

For them, "the external world is not real. . . . What is real are their feelings and emotions. And why not? The modern American message to minorities and women is well learned by now. It's what our public schools have taught for fifty years. The most important thing about you is the color of your skin and what's between your legs."

Seligman concludes: "You get the government you deserve. Pray for America. We have let the dogs loose."

Rush: Everything But the Polls Say Romney Landslide

By Rick Pearcey • November 6, 2012, 07:10 AM

Todd Beamon reports at Newsmax:

Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh charged on Monday that the nation’s pollsters have failed to accurately predict the outcome of the 2012 presidential election.

“Common sense tells me this election isn't gonna be close -- and it shouldn't be,” Limbaugh said on his afternoon radio program. “And yet, every poll, every single poll, has this race tied."

“The enthusiasm that got people out in 2010, I'm seeing at every Mitt Romney rally. Romney's drawing crowds of 20,000, 25,000, 30,000, 15,000," Limbaugh said. “The enthusiasm that we all saw in 2010 is there. The same issues that existed in 2010 exist today. There hasn't been anything that's gotten better.”

Texas High School Features Obama Getting Punched

By Rick Pearcey • November 5, 2012, 09:05 PM

Oh, it was Romney getting assaulted. Clearly, not a news story.

Besides, Obama has already said voting was the "best way" to get revenge.

"Plea" to Obama Voters: "White People Know Who You Are and They Will Come After You"

By Rick Pearcey • November 3, 2012, 02:12 PM

Oh, I was joking. Oh, my Twitter account got hacked. Or was it Facebook?

Actually, apart from substituting the word "white" for the word "black," this headline parallels precisely what Bill Maher said here:

For anyone thinking about voting for Mitt Romney . . . , I would like to make this one plea: Black people know who you are and they will come after you.

Is this the "revenge," Plan B, Obama has in mind, in case the voting next Tuesday falls short of the best corruption money can buy?

Maher says, "I'm kidding."

The problem is: There are black racists and white racists ready to act primarily and violently on the basis of skin color.

America would be so much more of an interesting country if skin color had zero predictive value for elections.

Obama: "Voting's the Best . . . Revenge"!? -- Video

By Rick Pearcey • November 3, 2012, 12:23 PM

"It is mind-boggling, really, that this sort of snide, negative motivation is what President Obama has saved up for his final appeal," Jennifer Rubin comments at the Washington Post.

Here is Romney's counter, reported by the LATimes (watch Romney's remarks here):

“Yesterday, the president said something you may have heard by now that I think surprised a lot of people. Speaking to an audience he said, you know, voting is the best revenge.

He told his supporters, voting for revenge.

Vote for revenge?

Let me tell you what I’d like to tell you: Vote for love of country,” Romney said, and the crowd of more than 1,000 cheered.

“It is time we lead America to a better place.”

Breitbart has the Obama revenge video.

Is It a Sin to Vote for Democrats?

By Rick Pearcey • November 3, 2012, 11:22 AM

Radio talk show host and columnist Peter Heck examines the case for Christians voting Democrat or in support of Barack Obama and finds that case wanting.

The issues now are so sharply drawn, and the philosophical divide so great, Heck writes, that "it's a time for choosing."

College Claims "Absolute" Right to Protect the Unborn

By Rick Pearcey • November 3, 2012, 10:20 AM

Charlie Butts reports at OneNewsNow:

Dallas' Criswell College has filed suit against the ObamaCare HHS mandate to provide free coverage in insurance exchanges for abortion-inducing drugs.

"We're currently renegotiating new health insurance, which is something we do on an annual basis here at Criswell," says Jerry Johnson, president of Criswell College.

"This new mandate is going to require us to violate our religious beliefs, because it would force us to fund something that's contrary to the biblical values we stand for, particularly the sanctity of innocent human life."

Obamacare is in fact on the wrong side of the Constitution, the Declaration, the facts of science, humane ethical norms, and the verifiable information we have from the Creator.

In addition, it is impossible to "love thy neighbor" and care for "the least of these" and at the same time embrace a philosophy of governance that allows one class of persons to oppress, up to the point of death, another class of persons.

And stewardship in community with God and man requires that people of conscience are not forced to fund barbarism with a secular, liberal face.

Bravo, Criswell College, for refusing to bend the knee to inhumanity posing as liberation.

President's Bully in Chief: Obama Is Telling Kids, F--- Your Parents

By Rick Pearcey • November 2, 2012, 10:00 PM

Drew Zhan reports at WND:

A newly compiled video exposes the chief “anti-bullying” activist endorsed by the Obama administration spewing an obscenity-laced, startling message to “gay” kids in America.

The White House website, under its “Civil Rights” section, iincludes links and videos recorded by Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and others, supporting the mission of “gay” activist Dan Savage's It Gets Better Project, an effort to help homosexual teens survive bullying during their teenage years.

"But a recent video produced by the Faith Family Freedom Fund reveals Savage has touted the White House’s support as proof the president is backing his shocking message," reports WND.

And what does backing that message mean? This:

“That meant,” Savage says of Obama’s participation in his It Gets Better Project, “the president of the United States was telling queer kids, ‘There’s something wrong with your parents, there’s something wrong with your preachers, there’s something wrong with your teachers, and f--- those people!’”

New Pro-Marriage TV Ads Feature Victims of Bullying by Homosex Activists

By Rick Pearcey • November 2, 2012, 07:13 PM

Matthew Cullinan Hoffman reports at LifeSiteNews:

Two new television ads presented to voters by pro-marriage organizations are featuring victims of bullying by homosexual activists and their allies, whose habitual tactics of slander and intimidation were not widely reported by the mainstream media.

One video sponsored by the Family Research Council and aired in opposition to homosexual “marriage” in Maryland, shows [watch ad here14-year-old Sarah Crank and her mother describing the vicious attacks against Sarah by homosexuals following the girl’s testimony in favor of traditional marriage in the Maryland state legislature in January. . . .

A second video [watch here] aired by the National Organization for Marriage and the Marriage Anti-Defamation Alliance features an interview with firefighter Sarah Rowe, who defied her pro-gay union to publicly express her support for a traditional marriage amendment in Minnesota.

College Lets Transgender Man Expose Himself to Young Girls

By Rick Pearcey • November 2, 2012, 06:33 PM

Todd Starnes reports at Fox News:

A Washington college said their non-discrimination policy prevents them from stopping a transgender man from exposing himself to young girls inside a women’s locker room, according to a group of concerned parents.

“Little girls should not be exposed to naked men, period,” said David Hacker, senior legal counsel with the Alliance Defending Freedom. A group of concerned parents contacted the legal firm for help.

Hacker said a 45-year-old male student, who dresses as a woman and goes by the name Colleen Francis, undressed and exposed his genitals on several occasions inside the women's locker room at Evergreen State College.

Is Evergreen State College, and its "non-discrimination policy," so alienated from the rules for freedom and human dignity (see, for example, the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution) that it cannot tell the difference between diversity and perversity?

Let me offer a free-thinker's thought for campus life: Any "diversity" that disrespects the unalienable and Creator-endowed difference (authentic diversity!) between male and female is not a strength, it's a weakness. And it's a weakness that puts people at risk.

And by the way, sexual disorientation is not an unalienable right, even if it's "policy." And by the way, a 45-year-old male who hasn't figured out he's a man needs help, not an open door to the girls' dressing room.

It may be that Evergreen State College needs a course in Commonsense 101.

And it may be that, if Evergreen State College really cannot tell the difference between nondiscrimination and nonsense -- between moral right and moral wrong and how these liberating norms apply to the diversity of male and female opposites (viva la difference!) -- then maybe it has no business being in the education business.

In such a case, Evergreen may be harming, not educating. And ever-gullible, not ever-good.

What is study at Evergreen State all about these days? Education? Or is something else on the agenda?

Pelosi Holds Secret Fundraiser With Islamists, Hamas-Linked Groups

By Rick Pearcey • November 2, 2012, 10:52 AM

Neil Munro reports at the Daily Caller:

Democratic leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi headlined a high-dollar fundraiser in May that was attended by U.S.-based Islamist groups and individuals linked by the U.S. government to the Hamas jihad group and to the Egypt-based Muslim Brotherhood movement.

The donors at the undisclosed May 16 event included Nihad Awad, the co-founder of the Council on American Islamic Relations, according to data provided by the nonpartisan Investigative Project on Terrorism.

The CAIR group was named an unindicted conspirator in a 2007 trial of a Hamas money-smuggling group.

Assassination 101: "Can we leave" English class, "because Romney is in town and I want to go shoot him?"

By Rick Pearcey • November 1, 2012, 11:09 AM

Paul Joseph Watson writes at Infowars:

A 19-year-old man was arrested after threatening to shoot Mitt Romney during the presidential candidate’s visit to Ohio, just one of a recent wave of violent threats against Romney that have been downplayed by the media.

During class at Lorain County Community College earlier this week, Shaquille L. Brown spoke of his plan to assassinate the former Governor of Massachusetts.

“According to a police report, Brown was in an English class when he blurted out: “Can we leave, because Romney is in town and I want to go shoot him,” reports Fox 8 Cleveland.

Obama's Inauguration Reverend: All Whites Are Going to Hell

By Rick Pearcey • November 1, 2012, 10:24 AM

Neil Munro reports at The Daily Caller:

All white people are going to hell, longtime African-American civil rights advocate Rev. Joseph Lowery told an audience at a get-out-the-vote event held Oct. 27 in Georgia.

Lowery, who gave the benediction at the January 2009 inauguration of President Barack Obama, told the audience of up to 300 African-Americans "that when he was a young militant, he used to say all white folks were going to hell. Then he mellowed and just said most of them were. Now, he said, he is back to where he was," according to an Oct. 31 report in the Monroe County Reporter newspaper.

Lowery also reportedly said, "I don’t know what kind of a n----- wouldn’t vote with a black man running."

Lowery was speaking at the St. James Baptist Church in Forsyth, Ga., according to the Reporter.

Rev. Antonio Proctor is pastor of St. James.
