More Than 40,000 Support Navy Chaplain Accused of Lacking "Tolerance and Respect"

By Rick Pearcey • March 13, 2015, 10:53 AM

Todd Starnes writes:

Thousands of Americans, including former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and famed evangelist Franklin Graham, have come to the defense of a chaplain who could be thrown out of the Navy because of his Christian faith.

Lt. Cmdr. Wes Modder has been accused of failing to show "tolerance and respect" in private counseling sessions regarding issues pertaining to faith, marriage and sexuality --  specifically homosexuality.

The person accusing Mr. Modder is his assistant, a "married" homosexual "officer at the base who was upset about the minister's views on same-sex relationships and homosexuality," Starnes writes.

It is becoming more and more clear that those who despise the Creator's norms for human liberty and healthy sexuality are not victims but are victimizers.

Their rampant discrimination is an offense to common decency, and their shrieks are calculated to distract from the weakness of their arguments, not to mention the indecency of their oppressive agenda.

But Americans are noticing. They see the hatred of freedom that inhabits the heart of homosexualism.

And let us ask: Is anyone really surprised that those who reject the source of human liberty so easily embrace the techniques of tyranny to dictate to others how they must live?

Bravo to those supporting Lt. Cmdr. Wes Modder. He stands in the mainstream of American thought and practice (see the Declaration of Independence), even as he stands against hateful homosexualist extremists seeking to impose their private beliefs and flawed "morals."

Homosexualists and their fellow travelers are dangerous reactionaries. A free-thinking people revolts.
