Fake Medicine: Braindead Doctors Group Warns Against Calling Pregnant Women "Expectant Mothers"

By Rick Pearcey • January 31, 2017, 12:59 PM

"Because it may offend transgender and intersex men," reports The Blaze on the latest blinding brilliance from the British Medical Association.

My recommendation is that, with doctors and associations such as these on the loose on the island, if anyone anywhere gets sick, never ever seek treatment in Britain.

But why do we need doctors in the first place? When next illness strikes, just take two aspirin, get plenty of rest, and self-identify as healed.

Melania Trump Ready to Fight Back Against Left-Wing Haters

By Rick Pearcey • January 26, 2017, 11:07 AM

Emily Smith reports at the NYPost:

Melania Trump has had enough of left-leaning stars such as Chelsea Handler taking cheap shots at her and her son, Barron -- and is finalizing her own team of staffers to fight back.

The first lady has so far remained silent amid a torrent of social-media attacks on herself and her and President Donald Trump's 10-year-old son.

Comedian Handler said in a video interview with Variety that Melania "can barely speak English," then followed up with the tweet, "Blink if you need help @MELANIATRUMP."

Now President Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, is firing back on Melania’s behalf. He told Page Six, "Shame on Chelsea Handler for attacking our first lady in such a despicable manner."

Cohen added, "Don't be fooled by her accent. Melania is bright and articulate. To be clear, our first lady speaks multiple languages, I believe five. How many languages do you speak, Chelsea?"

Smith concludes her report: "In a brief statement to the media, which did not mention Barron by name, the White House noted the 'longstanding tradition that the children of presidents are afforded the opportunity to grow up outside of the political spotlight'."

Tom Price Hearing Disaster: Republicans Showing "No Intention of Repealing Obamacare"

By Rick Pearcey • January 25, 2017, 11:51 AM

Daniel Horowitz writes at CR:

Absent a major intervention from Trump or Pence, Republicans have no intention of repealing Obamacare. It's that simple. In fact, they are repealing the repeal of Obamacare. [emphasis added]

In a matter of a few weeks, in a shocking display of political black magic, Republicans managed to shift the focus away from the destruction wrought by Obamacare to the speculative problems of repealing Obamacare.

Watching the second confirmation hearing of Tom Price, R-Ga. (D, 62%) before the Senate Finance Committee, one could easily discern the diffidence in the voices of Price and Senate Republicans.

They accepted almost every premise of the Left on health care philosophy and even vouched for the guaranteed issue mandate that is most responsible for driving up premiums and destroying choice and competition in the market.

"Was it really hard for Price to tell Democrats that of course it’s a terrible idea to take 'insurance' out of insurance? Horowitz asks. Especially when the real-world impact of that move is to "throw people off their insurance, triple premiums, destroy $19 billion in wages, eliminate 300,000 jobs, and prevent the startup of 10,000 businesses?"

"It's clear that Republican leaders have no intention to repeal the main insurance regulations of Obamacare and pursue simple free market ideas," Horowitz warns. [Emphasis added]

"Thus, they are twisted into knots trying to find excuses not to repeal the law but come up with some sort of package that gives the veneer of reform."

How Gosnell's House of Horrors Made Me Pro-Life

By Rick Pearcey • January 24, 2017, 09:17 AM

From investigative journalist and documentary producer Ann McElhinney at the Daily Signal:

Fast forward to April 2013 and Kermit Gosnell's trial in Philadelphia, when everything changed.

Nothing in the intervening years had shaken my feelings on the subject.

But the images shown in the courtroom were not from activists, they were from police detectives and medical examiners and workers at the 3801 Lancaster Ave. clinic.

The expert testimony describing "good" abortions was from OB/GYNs who had been performing abortions for 30 years. The witnesses swore an oath to tell the truth and to present the evidence, and they did, under pain of penalty for perjury.

What they said and the pictures they showed changed me. I am not the same person I was.

Melania Trump Weeps as Marlana VanHoose Sings "How Great Thou Art"

By Rick Pearcey • January 23, 2017, 01:37 PM

Joel B. Pollak writes at Breitbart:

First Lady Melania Trump wept as 20-year-old Marlana VanHoose [read her story and musical background here] sang the hymn How Great Thou Art during the Inaugural Prayer Service at the Washington National Cathedral in the nation's capital on Saturday morning.

Hundreds of worshippers joined President Donald Trump and the First Lady; Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen; most of the Cabinet; and Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy for an ecumenical prayer, featuring a wide variety of faiths . . .

"There were many highlights from the deeply moving service. VanHoose, however, provided the service's most poignant moment," Pollak observes.

"VanHoose -- who is blind, and has mild cerebral palsy -- performed the well-known hymn, whose words include: "I see the stars/I hear the rolling thunder/Thy power throughout/The universe displayed," Pollak continues.

"The First Lady, seated in the front row, appeared to wipe away tears several times, and rose to her feet to lead a standing ovation when VanHoose had finished," Pollak states.

Several videos of this performance at worth viewing. In this video, where the focus is on VanHoose singing (starting at the 2:25:26 mark), we see that Melania Trump is first to rise to give this brilliant, moving performance a standing ovation.

At this point, I would suggest that strong, beautiful melodies and content such as this merit a central place in church services across the land. You may have noticed that fairly light choruses pretty much rule the day.

In this second video (30:57), the camera is focused on the Trumps and family, and the Pences, as they listen to VanHoose's magnificent singing. Melania can be seen wiping away tears.

This is a transfixing moment expressive of that mainstream historic, forever liberating America [see "What Is 'Mainstream' America"?] where the Creator and His great work in verifiable human history are at the center of our national political and cultural ethos.

In so many ways, the Delcaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution rest upon thoughtforms that affirm the principles of the Judeo-Christian worldview as applied with gritty realism to life in this yet beautiful and yet broken world.

Donald Trump, Jr., later tweeted: "One of the most incredible and moving performances I've seen from yesterday's #NationalPrayerService https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vGchMYI8DU&sns=tw … via youtube."

An event such as this marvelous performance of How Great Thou Art can be far more than a passing moment during an inaugural weekend, not to mention a humanizing alternative to the vitriol, hatred, and regressivity on display by genuine extremists (not in the historic American mainstream) amassed in D.C. during the inauguration.

To see a book-length rationale for such a humanizing and liberating alternative to a radicalized secular-liberal status quo, consider Nancy's book Saving Leonardo: A Call to Resist the Secular Assault on Mind, Morals, and Meaning. This treatment "depicts the revolutionary thinkers and artists, the ideas and events, leading step by step to the unleashing of secular worldviews that undermine human dignity and liberty. She crafts a fresh approach that exposes the real-world impact of ideas in philosophy, science, art, literature, and film -- voices that surround us in the classroom, in the movie theater, and in our living rooms."

Bravo to First Lady Melania Trump and to that quiet, soaring human voice Marlana VanHoose for helping bring light and focus at a critical moment in understanding who we really are.

Nancy Pearcey Strikes 6-Figure Book Deal With Baker Books

By Rick Pearcey • January 20, 2017, 05:20 PM

The really big news today, apart from Donald Trump becoming the 45th president of the United States, is that Pearcey Report Editor-at-Large and HBU Professor Nancy Pearcey today inked a two-book contract with Baker Books for a six-figure advance. The first book is set for publication in spring 2018.

I would describe this new book as a politically incorrect but radically humane breakout from the frivolous and fanatical direction that cultural "elites" have been imposing on our culture on issues of sex and life

"In this new book, I dig beneath the fake news cycle to lay bare the secular worldview that is the driving force behind much of the current cultural upset on issues related to life and sexuality," Nancy says. "What this book sets forth is a positive strategy that leads to a just and humane society that benefits everyone."

Nancy's previous books include Finding Truth, Saving Leonardo, Total Truth, The Soul of Science, and How Now Should We Live (with co-authors novelist Harold Fickett and Nixon White House operative Chuck Colson).

For more information, please see Nancy's bio and official website.

Saul Alinsky Leaves the White House: 8 Years Down the Drain

By Rick Pearcey • January 19, 2017, 01:53 PM

Quin Hillyer writes at American Spectator:

When Barack Obama leaves the White House tomorrow, he leaves with his worst dreams unrealized. Still, what he leaves behind is awful. Thank goodness he’ll be gone.

The very day after Obama was elected in 2008, I predicted in this space that his team would steal the Senate by hook and crook (see: Al Franken); nuke the filibuster at least for judicial nominees; liberalize voting laws (or enforcement thereof) to make fraud easier while charging opponents with "vote suppression"; drum up spurious allegations of civil rights violations; punish anti-abortion protesters; enact "copious new regulations, especially environmental, to be used selectively to ensnare other conservative malcontents"; invasively use the IRS to harass conservative organizations; and tacitly encourage civil unrest in furtherance of Obamite goals.

All those predictions of course came true. . . .

The unfortunate result of these and so many more extremist outrages at home and abroad? "The world is a much more parlous place because of Obama’s legacy," Hillyer writes.

Obama "entered office on an Alinskyite power trip, wanting to completely transform America. He failed at that, thank goodness, but he did succeed in weakening this great nation."

How might such a failure leave office?

Well, says Hillyer, "if Barack Obama knew how to slink, he would slink out of the Oval Office and completely offstage, bowed and beaten by his record of scandal and failure, as much or even more of a pariah among an American majority than Jimmy Carter was in the early 1980s."

Instead of slinky Obama, Hillyer says the ex-White House occupier will "try to stick around as a constant presence, lecturing us and hectoring us and insisting that we don't live up to his exacting standards."

How should America respond? "The best thing we can do is ignore him -- and go about our business of rebuilding, purposely oblivious to his irrelevant fulminations."

All I can say is: Good riddance, Saul Alinsky Obama. You occupied the White House, but you never came close to being an American president. And, by the way, thanks for taking Hillary Clinton with you.

Obama Frees "Chelsea" Manning and 273 More Criminals

By Rick Pearcey • January 18, 2017, 11:18 AM

Charles Spiering writes at Breitbart:

President Barack Obama announced his plan to free Chelsea Manning (who changed his name from Bradley) after leaking classified military documents to Wikileaks and being sentenced to 35 years for his crimes.

Once in prison, Manning went on a hunger strike to demand sex change surgery in prison, which was granted by officials at the cost of American taxpayers.

Obama included Manning on a list of prisoner commutations announced late Tuesday afternoon, allowing him to be set free on May 17, 2017.

The Haters: Black Rep. John Lewis Is an Iconic Racist

By Rick Pearcey • January 17, 2017, 09:51 AM

M. Catherine Evans writes at American Thinker:

Lewis' public and racist swipe at President-Elect Donald Trump this past Sunday isn't the first time he's tried to delegitimize the opposition. Lewis falsely accused Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin of "sowing seeds of hatred and division" at their rallies in 2008, even invoking the name of George Wallace to shore up his attack.

In 2010 he ratcheted up the hatred by alleging Tea Party protesters shouted racial epithets and spat on him during an anti-Obamacare rally. The late Andrew Breitbart offered to pay $100,000 to anyone with proof the racial incidents occurred. At a time and place where nearly everyone had a phone in their hands (I was there) not one video surfaced of Lewis' spit-riddled face.

Monica Crowley Bows Out of Race for White House Job Amid Plagiarism Accusations

By Rick Pearcey • January 16, 2017, 01:17 PM

Kaitlan Collins reports at The Daily Caller:

Monica Crowley has taken herself out of the running for a position in Donald Trump's White House.

"After much reflection I have decided to remain in New York to pursue other opportunities and will not be taking a position in the incoming administration," Crowley said in a statement to the Washington Times Monday. "I greatly appreciate being asked to be part of President-elect Trump’s team and I will continue to enthusiastically support him and his agenda for American renewal."

"Crowley is accused of plagiarizing parts of her 2012 book What the (Bleep) Just Happened and more than a dozen passages in her dissertation for Columbia University in 2000," TheDC report concludes.

Is Daycare Grooming Your 4-Year-Old for Sex Abuse, Pedophila, Homosexuality?

By Rick Pearcey • January 13, 2017, 04:43 PM

See this Channel 4 News report (with video) about the "Little Angels Daycare" in Ardmore, OK, where mother Dominique Green reportedly became outraged upon seeing a Snapchat video showing kids playing "spin the bottle" and her 4-year-old son forced to kiss another boy.

"It's sick, and I don't see anything funny about the video. It's sickening for a mother to watch that," Green said, according to Channel 4. "It's already on social media. So, everybody has seen my son being bullied and doing sexual things."

In a 1-star review of Little Angels Daycare, the reviewer states, "Take your little angel here to be groomed by pedophiles and homosexuals."

Another review states: "Makes boys kisses boys pedophile daycare?"

Killing CNN

By Rick Pearcey • January 12, 2017, 03:48 PM

Robert Arvay fires away from his platform at American Thinker:

I have for some time now eschewed referring to most American news institutions as "mainstream media" and instead termed them what they are: the Ministry of Propaganda (MoP).

I know, I know -- there comes a time when we are supposed to stop complaining about bias in the news. It is akin to complaining about the weather, about which we can do nothing. Donald Trump is proving otherwise. If liberals can claim that they can stop global warming, then we may justly claim that Trump can stop the global pollution the MoP spews out so continually that many of us have gotten used to it.

In previous years, conservatives were ridiculed for "blaming the press." We were compared to the student who claimed that "the dog ate my homework." No more. This election cycle, the dog did its best and choked to death. While the Russians are blamed for "hacking Hillary," the MoP was hacking Trump, but not with facts -- with fake news.

"Trump is taking the fight to CNN and, by extension, to all the other alphabet agencies that have mocked and vilified him, while they were openly siding with Hillary Clinton and her crooked cohorts," Arvay continues. "Instead of the New York Times informing us, it saw its duty as being to dis-inform us, to dissuade us from voting for Trump -- but the more mud the MoP threw toward him, the muddier they themselves became. . . ."

Ohio State University Leaders Silent After Pro-2nd Amendment Student Murdered

By Rick Pearcey • January 11, 2017, 11:33 AM

Mikenzie Tremblay reports at The College Fix:

It's been five days since a Buckeye was gunned down in what police say is a drug-related murder and the first homicide in Columbus in 2017.

Yet Ohio State campus leaders have appeared to largely ignore that one of their own has died: Tarak Underiner, a 20-year-old marketing and Spanish major and treasurer of Buckeyes for Concealed Carry on Campus.

"This stands in stark contrast to campus leadership's typical standard operating procedure when the university is hit by tragedy or other big news," Tremblay writes.

Video: We Visit Obama's New Wall

By Rick Pearcey • January 9, 2017, 07:57 AM

"As you might have heard, Obama is building a wall around his upscale rental in D.C.'s Kalorama neighborhood," Mike Raust writes at The Daily Caller. "It's a stone's throw from our office, so Ted Goodman and I decided to go investigate."

According to the embedded video, not only is Obama building a wall at his new pad, "but many of its trees are going into a wood chipper."

In the video, a construction worker is asked if they're building a wall. He replies, "Yep. I don't know. I don't really know. I'm not from this country."

I think you'll enjoy this video.

Stupid Government Study Says Male and Female Toilet Signs "Discriminate" Against Transgender People

By Rick Pearcey • January 5, 2017, 11:18 AM

"British researchers have spent £50,000 ($60,000) of public money on a study which concluded male and female toilet signs can be seen as 'discriminatory'," Heat Street reports.

Stupid.

Laughably stupid.

Politically correct horse hockey.

You might even say this study discriminates against people with intelligence and eyesight who refuse to be silent about boys and girls and the facts of life.

So this particular outbreak of brain-killing loopiness is occurring in England.

Thus reports Heat Street: "A team from Sheffield Hallam University spent a year asking members of the public whether they believed people should have a choice on which toilet they use."

The drama queen findings? "Participants thought it was important for others to not judge people’s choice of toilet."

Now -- that's progress.

You see, it's ethically evil, regressive, and icky to offend the spirit of moral relativism.

Am I wrong, or didn't Islam conquer England last week?

Not that that would be a bad thing. I mean, who's to judge?

But wait, if if (yes -- two ifs on purpose) relativism says judgment isn't allowed, what's the problem with "discrimination" -- whether real or the fairy-tale version?

As if "discrimination" were something bad. How 6th century BC. How last Thursday.

In any case, Obama needs to get over there el quicko to award the good folks of Sheffield Hallam University a U.S. Distinguished Public Service Medal. You know, like the one he just awarded himself.

Speaking of Sheffield, I wonder how many men self-identifying as girls are on the local soccer club's "Ladies First Team"?

Whatarewegonnado? All these mens and womens everywhere. So much "discrimination."

Yee, doggie, Jed, that's a good one.

Alright, people -- That's your laughbreak of the morning. Now back to the salt mines.

Obama and Mall Violence

By Rick Pearcey • January 3, 2017, 09:44 AM

Peter Skurkiss writes at American Thinker:

Hey all you "root cause" fans! Guess who's been teaching black kids that violence is acceptable?

Writing in City Journal, Heather Mac Donald provides good insight in the rash of mall violence over Christmastime. In her very first sentence, she impolitely notes that the overwhelming majority of the perpetrators were black. This fact was airbrushed out of most news accounts of the legacy media, the usual reason: to be political correct.

That particular revelation of Ms. MacDonald's is not the real value of her article, although it is pertinent to the point she makes. Specifically, she sees a clear connection between this gratuitous mall violence and the lack of discipline in the public schools. And she goes on to explain how the policies of the Obama Administration have greatly exacerbated this problem, as it related to blacks.

Of course, what happens in the school house doesn't stay in the school house.

Skurkiss therefore notes: "Obama's hyper-race-orientated policies on school discipline ripple through society, increasing the general level of violence and criminality. It is also is a tremendous drag on the ability of earnest minority students to learn. If nothing else, the K-12 schools should have a civilizing effect on those in its care, and even this President Obama has taken away from those who most need it."

Skurkiss concludes: "Barack Obama is a man who was elected to a position far beyond his level of competence. He and those he has brought into government have degraded almost everything they have touched during his eight years in office.

"With the election of Donald Trump, America has a golden opportunity to set things right across the entire policy spectrum of governance. In many areas, it will not take genius to make great improvements; just the application of some common sense will do wonders."

Hitler's Religion: Was Hitler Christian? Was Nazism?

By Rick Pearcey • January 2, 2017, 02:55 PM

I have just ordered a copy of Cal State Stanislaus history professor Richard Weikart's new book, Hitler's Religion: The Twisted Beliefs That Drove the Third Reich

To whet your appetite, consider the following from Danusha V. Goska, writing at Frontpagemag:

It is exactly because the Hitler card is played against Western Civilization that everyone ought to read Richard Weikart's new book, Hitler's Religion: The Twisted Beliefs that Drove the Third Reich.

The book's substance justifies Weikart's claim that it is "the most extensive to date in the English language" on its topic.

Weikart makes the case that Hitler's God was a Darwin-inspired, non-personal, pantheistic deity exacting a pitiless survival-of-the-fittest-through-struggle morality.

Neither Hitler nor Nazism were Christian, and the elimination of Christianity was certainly one of the long-term goals of Nazism.

Read more. See Weikart's book at Amazon.
