"Our Citizens Are Under Assault": Perry Sends National Guard to Border

By Rick Pearcey • July 22, 2014, 11:11 AM

From Breitbart TV:

Monday, Gov. Rick Perry (R-Texas) announced he is deploying 1,000 Texas National Guard to the U.S. border with Mexico, saying he can not idly sit by while "our citizens are under [assault]."

Pointing out the tens of thousands pf unaccompanied minors only make up roughly 20 percent of those being apprehended illegally crossing the border, Perry said he can no longer wait for the president to act as gang members and drug cartels flood into Texas, causing crime to skyrocket.

"Under assault might be an understatement," Arnold Ahlert writes at Frontpagemag.com. "According to Perry, more than 203,000 illegal aliens responsible for committing more than 640,000 crimes, including 3,000 homicides, have been booked into Texas county jails since 2008. He further pointed out that the thousands of unaccompanied minors apprehended crossing the border comprise less than 20 percent of total influx and while enforcement agents are giving humanitarian aid to these children, 'drug cartels, human traffickers and individual criminals are exploiting this tragedy for their own criminal opportunities'."

In response, "Gov. Perry’s announcement was met with derision by Democrats who accused him of 'militarizing' the border," Ahlert writes.

"Perry rejected that notion," Ahlert notes, as did "Congressman Louis Gohmert (R-TX). 'Our nation is being invaded in what the U.S. Commanding General of SOUTHCOM described as an "existential threat",' he said in a statement. As articulated in Article I, Section 10, of the United States Constitution, the State of Texas has the right to defend herself, as the largest invasion is coming into Texas."

By Rick Pearcey • April 22, 2014, 09:02 AM

Bob Price writes at Breitbart:

After the recent Bundy Ranch episode by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Texans are becoming more concerned about the BLM’s focus on 90,000 acres along a 116 mile stretch of the Texas/Oklahoma boundary.

The BLM is reviewing the possible federal takeover and ownership of privately held lands which have been deeded property for generations of Texas landowners.

Mooove! California Cattle Leave for Texas

By Rick Pearcey • February 20, 2014, 09:25 AM

Joel B. Pollak writes at Breitbart:

How bad is the California drought?

So bad that California ranchers are selling their cattle to Texas ranchers -- even though Texas, too, is going through a major dry spell.

It is the latest migration from California to Texas -- and another sign that California's southwestern rivals are managing the drought conditions more successfully.

Texas Preps for Going It Alone

By Rick Pearcey • February 16, 2013, 12:43 PM

Bob Unruh reports at WND:

Texas was its own nation before joining the United States, and many jokes have been made about some Texans still not recognizing that "other government" with which it now is affiliated.

But lawmakers there are drawing attention by considering a law that would have Texas review how it would respond should the U.S. government no longer be there to send federal tax revenue back to the state.

According to WND, "The proposal would set up a committee to study what the state gets from Washington, 'the effects on the state budget if federal fiscal policy necessitates a significant reduction in or elimination of federal funding' and 'a plan to address the loss of federal money'."

"The plan, HB 568, has been introduced by Rep. James White, who said in a statement [the] Texas Self-Sufficiency Act 'creates a select committee to evaluate the effects of a possible reduction in or elimination of federal funding on the state budget due to federal fiscal policy'."

Sharia Financier in Tennessee Governor's Office

By Rick Pearcey • December 4, 2012, 08:56 AM

Arnold Ahlert writes at Frontpagemag.com:

In Tennessee last May, Republican Gov. Bill Haslam appointed Samar Ali as international director of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (ECD). Attempts to connect her to stealth jihad have been ridiculed.  Yet when one connects the dots between Ali and several organizations and individuals, a number of troubling relationships arise, especially regarding the phenomenon known as Sharia-compliant finance (SCF).

SCF is best explained by Deroy Murdock in a 2008 column: “Turn your clock back 70 years. Imagine that Wall Street banks and brokerages sold Nuremberg-compliant bonds and stock funds in 1938,” he writes. “American Nazi sympathizers bought financial instruments certified by Berlin-based advisors as free of ‘Jewish profits’ from, say, Salomon Brothers and Bloomingdale’s.”

That’s the first half the equation. Then comes the far more important second half. “In turn, a percentage of such funds’ gains underwrote pro-Nazi charities, like the German-American Bund, and similar organizations in the Fatherland, like the Hitler Youth.” In short, Murdock is using an apt analogy to illuminate the true nature of SCF: it is a money-laundering operation used to underwrite international terrorism.
