Transfascism: Your Daughter Must Pee Next to a Man, and You Will Be Compelled to Agree

By Rick Pearcey • April 20, 2016, 10:38 AM

Ben Shapiro writes at Conservative Review:

The rules of bigotry according to the left represent a constantly shifting kaleidoscope of nonsense.

This week, we learned that if you don't want your small daughter peeing next to a giant man who thinks he is a woman, you are a bigot; if you are a woman who is uncomfortable with a man who thinks he is a woman whipping out his male genitalia to urinate in front of you, you are a bigot; if you are a religious person who doesn't want to participate in an activity you consider sinful, you are a bigot.

At the heart of this insanity is not bigotry but fascism -- the attempt by extremist secularists to use the absolutized idol of government to impose their relativistic will and aberrant desires upon the people of the United States.

The word "bigotry" does have meaning. But unfortunately for rainbow fascists, that meaning can be understood and sustained only where there is a sufficient basis for ethical moral norms that apply across the human condition.

You have that basis in the founding, liberating, and humane vision set forth in the Declaration of Indepdendence, which wisely roots unalienable human rights in a verifiable, transcendant Creator (not the immanent state) who has given rules for freedom.

Very sadly, however, those gripped by transfascism absolutely hate and despise that vision -- and therefore reject the very basis upon which to defy sin and death, alienation and decay.

Nothing but pain and suffering, tears and confusion, hatred and destruction, follow in the wake of this regressive extremism.

Those who hate the rules of freedom necessarily love the rule of bigotry. The transfascist bigot with no basis for love is consummed by a self-inflicted hatred that he, she, or it will never understand.

Insanity over against the basic biological facts of life regarding male and female is but the eve of destruction. And as night follows day, if sanity be not restored, there will be blood. In bathrooms and in streets there will be blood. Watch the evening news as the body politic bleeds out.

Intelligence coupled with humanity revolts.

Hating Freedom: Leftist Fascists Take Over College Campuses

By Rick Pearcey • March 3, 2016, 10:57 AM

A week ago today, the extremist ugly head of campus "liberalism" snapped and snarled at California State University Los Angeles.

The occasion was the appearence of Ben Shapiro to give a speech. Shapiro writes:

Hundreds of students gathered to chant slogans, block entrances and exits to the student union auditorium, rough up those who wished to enter, pull the fire alarm, and trap other students inside that auditorium under threat of violence. Police officers stood aside and allowed that mob to violate basic safety protocols, reportedly at the behest of the school administration.

"This is America in 2016, on a state-funded university campus," Shapiro observes.

How has the U.S. arrived at this unsafe place?

"We have spent two generations turning college campuses from places to learn job skills to places to indoctrinate leftism and inculcate an intolerant view of the world that insists on silencing opposition," Shapiro explains.

"We have made campuses a fascist 'safe space' on behalf of the left. Anyone who disagrees must be shut down, or threatened or hurt."

This hatred against freedom is not limited to university extremists.

"We've entered an era of politics in which baseless feelings count more than facts, in which political correctness means firing those with different viewpoints, in which government actors insist that they can police negative thoughts," Shapiro writes.

"We're on the edge of freedom's end, and many Americans don't even see it," Shapiro concludes.

"They would have had they been at CSULA that day. And they will soon enough if they don't stand up for their rights today."

Fighting Oppression: Angry White Leftists Target Black Conservative Woman

By Rick Pearcey • November 13, 2015, 10:09 AM

Dr. Carol Swain of Vanderbilt University has "committed the ultimate hate crime. She has been insensitive to idiots," Daniel Greenfield writes at Frontpagemag.

According to Greenfield, Dr. Swain . . .

. . .  was born in segregated Virginia. The second of twelve children, she grew up sharing a bed with her sisters in a shack that had no running water. Her family was so poor that she had no shoes and had to stay home from school when the weather was bad. She never did make it to high school.

And now 1,400 leftist fascists have signed a petition to Vanderbilt University demanding that one of the most respected African-American scholars in this country take diversity training or be "terminated."

"The students targeting Dr. Swain claim to be 'fighting oppression'," Greenfield observes. "But true resistance to oppression is in fighting oppressors.

"Fighting oppression by destroying free speech and silencing dissent is just oppression no matter how much hypocritical self-righteous makeup it wears to the dance.

Here's what is really happening. "The left is taking off its masks. It has given up pretending that it believes in rights and freedoms. Now, in its final stage, it imposes oppression in the name of tolerance and sensitivity. It claims that eliminating the opposition is the only way to make its oppressed oppressors feel safe and welcomed," Greenfield argues.

"The fight for Dr. Swain’s academic freedom and her freedom of speech is the true fight against oppression," Greenfield concludes.

"Dr. Swain has been fighting against real oppression generations before her attackers were even old enough to complain that gluten in their light beers is oppression.

"She lived under segregation. She rose up from crushing poverty. And she is still standing strong against her oppressors today."

Walter E. Williams: Academic Fascism

By Rick Pearcey • August 11, 2015, 10:26 AM

Walter Williams writes in a column published today:

From the Nazis to the Stalinists, tyrants have always started out supporting free speech, and why is easy to understand.

Speech is vital for the realization of their goals of command, control and confiscation. Free speech is a basic tool for indoctrination, propagandizing, proselytization. Once the leftists gain control, as they have at many universities, free speech becomes a liability and must be suppressed. This is increasingly the case on university campuses.

Williams supports his thesis with examles from the University of California, Harvard, Oberlin College, Vassar, Azusa Pacific, and Brandeis University and then writes:

Western values of liberty are under ruthless attack by the academic elite on college campuses across America. These people want to replace personal liberty with government control; they want to replace equality before the law with entitlement. As such, they pose a far greater threat to our way of life than any terrorist organization or rogue nation. Leftist ideas are a cancer on our society.

"Ironically," Williams concludes, "we not only are timid in response, but also nourish those ideas with our tax dollars and charitable donations."

There is no humane reason to support this kind of oppressive agenda that poses as liberation but ends in unfreedom. Far better to "test everything."

"Full House" Star Defends Christian Bakers: "I Don't Think This Is Discrimination"

By Rick Pearcey • July 9, 2015, 10:33 AM

Samantha Reinis reports at The Daily Signal:

The talk show The View pitted two childhood stars against each other to discuss the controversial issue of Christian bakers receiving a $135,000 fine for refusing to bake a lesbian wedding cake. Candace Cameron Bure of Full House and Raven-Symoné of That’s So Raven went head to head discussing the hot topic issue, coming down on different sides of the argument.

While Raven-Symoné began the conversation by comparing the issue to the civil rights movement of the 1960s, Bure quickly stopped her, claiming that was comparing apples and oranges. "I don’t think this is discrimination at all. This is about freedom of association," Bure said, speaking about Aaron and Melissa Klein, who received the fine after they declined to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple.

"It’s about constitutional rights. It’s about First Amendment rights. We do have the right to still choose who we associate with," Burr stated, according Reinis. "It’s in the Constitution."

Comment: As I have argued elsewhere, "In a free country, a business would be able to sell and cater to whomever it desires -- and to reject service or products to whomever it or whatever it desires.

"Here's an example: I despise racism but would acknowledge that a black racist is within his human rights to choose to refuse to bake cakes for Caucasians (when living on Capitol Hill in DC, I was once told certain events were for Black folks only). I would take my business elsewhere and encourage others to do so -- as an ethical repudiation of his or her poor ethical choice.

"The state denial of ontological human givens (to choose, to express one's creativity via one's property) creates a bigger problem than that of specific acts of bigotry. Using the opportunity of a moral failing (bigotry) to liquidate ontological givens (human choice in the area of property) creates massive structural oppression.

"This oppression is compounded and metastasized when state power is used to impose that mistake on all people and all property. It ends with gulags and gas chambers, not just for some, but in principle for everyone.

"By denying the bakers their human free speech rights, what Oregon is now doing is attacking humanity per se, not bigotry (which it also ill-defines and then misapplies).

"No matter how pervasive the PR or how many votes might agree, or court decisions might support, state-sponsored attacks on human foundations signal collapse, not liberation.

"If you want to empower a relativistic dictatorial elite to run your lives, this is the way to go. Freedom and intelligence resists."

Update: But is it "discrimination"? No. Do you think money counterfeiters would get far by shrieking, "Discrimination!"? Well, neither should the marriage counterfeiters get far shrieking, "Discrimination!" Their crusade isn't about love of marriage, but about the end of it. More here.

Atlanta Fire Chief Fired Over Views of Homosexuality Files Discrimination Complaint

By Rick Pearcey • January 30, 2015, 11:38 AM

Kate Scanlon reports at the Daily Signal:

Former Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran has filed a federal complaint that he is a victim of religious discrimination after losing his job after his writing about his views on homosexuality attracted attention.

Cochran, who is also a deacon at Elizabeth Baptist Church, was terminated after controversial passages about homosexuality were discovered in his book, Who Told You You Are Naked?, self-published in 2013.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Cochran was fired by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed after his objection to Cochran’s description of homosexuality as "vile, vulgar and inappropriate at work."

The complaint was filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of Cochran by his attorney, Jonathan Crumly, who alleges that Cochran’s termination is in violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

"Americans are guaranteed the freedom to live without fear of losing their jobs because of their beliefs and thoughts. We are continuing to evaluate all available legal options to vindicate Chief Cochran after his unjust termination," Crumly is quoted as telling the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

"Crumly is affiliated with Alliance Defending Freedom, an organization that defends freedom of religion," Scanlon reports.

Comment: Both the U.S. Constitution (1st Amendment) and Declaration of Independence (liberty, the pursuit of happiness) recognize Kelvin Cochran's unalienable human right to speak freely and publicly regarding the vile, vulgar, and inappropriate phenomenon of homosexuality.

What the mayor and his politically correct true believers in secularism are demonstrating is their hatred of real diversity, their hatred of real liberty, and their hatred of the transhistorical norms of freedom as expressed in the founding documents of the American experiment.

Moreover, Mayor Kasim Reed of Atlanta (photo) is actually the one who is discriminating. He discriminates not only against Mr. Cochran, but also against the knowable Creator and against the Creator's verifiable norms for human freedom and dignity.

In the real world, as opposed to that of secular superstition, you cannot have your cake and eat it too. No mayor, governor, Congress, or president can reject the norms of freedom and yet maintain a free society.

In the real world, when you pull a flower up by its roots, "liberating" it from its soil, its source of life, that flower is effectively dead unless returned to its source of life. The bloom may last a while, and the ignorant may believe the bloom of life continues as before.

But the executioners know better. As do any who know the relationship between life and the source of life.

Surely, the city of Atlanta can find a mayor who knows the difference between life and death, freedom and nonfreedom, the wrongful discrimination against the Creator and his blessings, and the rightful and compassionate critique of ethical breakdown.

Come on, Atlanta. Come on, Georgia. Up your game. Get in the fight for human freedom and dignity.

Down with authoritarianism masquerading as liberation. Up with liberty in community with God and neighbor.

Former Atlanta fire chief Kelvin Cochran is behaving as a man freed by truth to express that truth, and live that truth, across the whole of life, including public life.

This is his birthright under God. He takes it with him wherever he goes. Into the firehouse, it is his birthright. Into the house of government, it is his birthright. And in every public space, it is his birthright.

For he is a man. He is not a slave. He is a human being, he is not a slave. Wake up, Mr. Mayor. Wake up, Atlanta. Wake up.

New Police Radars Can See Inside Homes

By Rick Pearcey • January 20, 2015, 08:41 AM

Brad Heath reports at USAToday:

At least 50 U.S. law enforcement agencies have secretly equipped their officers with radar devices that allow them to effectively peer through the walls of houses to see whether anyone is inside, a practice raising new concerns about the extent of government surveillance.

Those agencies, including the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service, began deploying the radar systems more than two years ago with little notice to the courts and no public disclosure of when or how they would be used. The technology raises legal and privacy issues because the U.S. Supreme Court has said officers generally cannot use high-tech sensors to tell them about the inside of a person's house without first obtaining a search warrant.

"Current and former federal officials say the information is critical for keeping officers safe if they need to storm buildings or rescue hostage," Heath writes. "But privacy advocates and judges have nonetheless expressed concern about the circumstances in which law enforcement agencies may be using the radars -- and the fact that they have so far done so without public scrutiny.

"The idea that the government can send signals through the wall of your house to figure out what's inside is problematic," USAToday quotes Christopher Soghoian of the ACLU as saying. "Technologies that allow the police to look inside of a home are among the intrusive tools that police have."

The Supreme Court in 2013, "limited police's ability to have a drug dog sniff the outside of homes. The core of the Fourth Amendment, Justice Antonin Scalia wrote, is 'the right of a man to retreat into his own home and there be free from unreasonable governmental intrusion'," USAToday reports.

Sessions: We Must Stop Emperor Obama

By Rick Pearcey • November 21, 2014, 11:47 AM

What follows are portions of an editorial from Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama:

Americans defeated President Obama's disastrous amnesty plans both in Congress and at the voting booth. Tonight, President Obama defied an entire nation and declared that he will impose his rejected amnesty through the brute force of executive order.

President Obama's executive amnesty will provide an estimated 5 million illegal immigrants with the exact benefits Congress rejected, in violation of federal law. His order will grant them social security numbers, government-issued ID's, legal status and work permits. Illegal immigrants will now be able to take jobs and benefits directly from struggling Americans in a time of high unemployment and low wages. They will be able to take jobs from Americans in all occupations, ranging from truck drivers to power company workers to jobs with city government. Many illegal immigrants will also be able to obtain green cards and become permanent residents, allowing them access to almost all federal programs, to receive citizenship and sponsor foreign relatives to join them in the U.S. . . .

Only a short time ago, President Obama himself admitted this action would be illegal and unconstitutional: "I know some people want me to bypass Congress and change the laws on my own," he explained, adding "that's not how our democracy functions. That's not how our Constitution is written." President Obama also said that: "The problem is that I'm the president of the United States, I'm not the emperor of the United States. My job is to execute laws that are passed."

Apparently, America now has its first emperor. . . .

How should a free people respond to Emperor Obama's usurpation of power? "The great task before the nation now is to resist this imperial decree and return control of this nation to its own citizens -- as our Constitution established," the editorial states. "That task begins with Congress refusing to allow a dime of money to be spent executing this unlawful amnesty. This a routine, constitutional and crucial application of congressional power."

Here is Sen. Sessions' website.

David Limbaugh: A Smoking Gun for Us "Stupid" American Voters

By Rick Pearcey • November 11, 2014, 10:08 AM

David Limbaugh writes in his most recent column:

Recently, a very disturbing video emerged that contains the metaphorical smoking gun concerning President Obama's many lies about Obamacare. This should remove any lingering doubt that we're dealing with a fascist-type administration.

Of course, there should be no need for a smoking gun, because it is now undeniable that Obama lied on his major selling points about the Affordable Care Act. Unlike many Democrats in falsely accusing President George W. Bush of lying about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, I don't use the term "lie" lightly. . . .

"The Daily Caller reports that in a newly surfaced video [watch the video here], Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber, an MIT professor, made some stunning admissions concerning how the administration presented the bill and how it overtly deceived the public because the bill never would have passed otherwise," Limbaugh continues.

Limbaugh then quotes Gruber:

This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure [the Congressional Budget Office] did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. OK? So it's written to do that. In terms of risk-rated subsidies, if you had a law which said healthy people are going to pay in -- you made explicit that healthy people pay in and sick people get money -- it would not have passed.

. . . Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically, that was really, really critical to getting the thing to pass. . . . Look, I wish [health economist] Mark [Pauly] was right [that] we could make it all transparent, but I'd rather have this law than not.

Limbaugh next makes the following points:

They Lie: "You can see the mindset that these people have. There is no mistaking it. They know better than we 'stupid' American people what is good for us, so they'll do whatever is necessary, including purposely deceiving us, to advance their political agenda."

This Is Fascism: "This is the stuff of outright tyrants -- arrogant, unaccountable, cavalier despots. This is political fascism. This is not representative government. This type of behavior nullifies the Constitution and disenfranchises the American people."

This Is Obama: "It's one thing to have strong ideological views. It's altogether another to impose those views at any cost and in derogation of the people's rights. This is who this president is. These are the people he surrounds himself with.

"Obama and his team are not chastened, much less repentant, over the recent election results. They remain undeterred, and they intend to continue using whatever means they deem necessary, in their self-assessed superior wisdom, to accomplish their political ends, beginning with immigration."

No Excuses: "If you were unaware of or in denial about Obama's character and his willingness to deceive and act against the will of the American people before -- despite other smoking guns, such as those concerning his lies on the Benghazi, Libya, attacks -- you have no excuse now."

A Time for Resisting: "Two dangerous years remain in Obama's term. Even Democrats who might agree with many of Obama's remaining agenda items have a duty to oppose his further abuse of our system, including on immigration. But whether or not they step up, it is imperative that Republicans take a hard line against any such corrosive acts against the rule of law and our Constitution."

Criminalizing Innocent Christian Behavior

By Rick Pearcey • October 21, 2014, 09:53 AM

David Limbaugh writes:

Where are all the atheist freedom lovers we always hear about? It's time for them to start standing up for religious liberty.

The left and militant gay movement are getting bolder and bolder, and too many Christians are stewing in their apathy.

It seems that with each passing month, this senseless tyranny advances. The latest is that two Christian ministers in Idaho, Donald and Evelyn Knapp, have allegedly been ordered to perform same-sex wedding ceremonies at their chapel or face fines or jail sentences.

Have Business, Will Travel: Dozens of Companies Leave America Under Obama

By Rick Pearcey • August 28, 2014, 08:49 AM

Ben Shapiro writes at Breitbart:

On Tuesday, Burger King announced that it would spend some $11 billion to buy Tim Hortons Inc., a Canadian breakfast food chain, then merge Burger King into it, thereby turning what was once a major American company into a major Canadian one. As the Washington Post reports, Burger King would "move the company’s headquarters to Canada, where corporate taxes are significantly lower."

This process, called inversion, has been occurring more and more often, despite the fascistic suggestion by President Obama that headquartering outside the United States represents a betrayal of God and country. Members of the Obama administration have taken to labeling business inversions a lack of "economic patriotism" -- presumably under the assumption that to stay in America, cut jobs, and lose all profits in order to pay higher taxes represents a sort of higher moral value than moving one’s headquarters and continuing to pay millions of workers and reward consumers with better and cheaper products.

"Some 25 major companies have participated in tax inversions since President Obama took office," Shapiro concludes. "That trend will continue to accelerate as President Obama ratchets up the rhetoric and threatens harsher action against companies that dare to buck his high-tax priorities."

DOT Proposes Mandating Cars Broadcast Location, Direction, Speed

By Rick Pearcey • August 27, 2014, 10:07 AM

Terry Jeffrey writes at CNSNews.com:

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, part of the Department of Transportation, published last week an "advanced notice of proposed rulemaking" on "vehicle-to-vehicle communications" . . . .

The possible real-world result? Jeffrey concludes:

Automated automobile warning systems based on accurate data broadcast by other people's cars and roadway infrastructure can save lives.

But as vehicles become fully automated, as they surely will, and the people in them no longer have absolute control over the vehicle's movements, a key question will be: Who does?

The inertia of the post-Constitution federal government is that of denying human freedom, self-determination, and dignity while couching this denial in promises of greater safety or some other promised benefit.

Don't fall for it, America. With the ever-increasing consolidation and monopolization of federal power, who or what will protect Americans from the life-denying and inhumane "protection" of the federal government itself?

Christians Not Welcome in Baton Rouge?

By Rick Pearcey • July 29, 2014, 11:12 AM

From Tony Perkins of the Family Research Center:

The degrading comments of a city councilman aligned with the Baton Rouge Area Chamber and other prominent businesses in my hometown are sending a message to Christians and conservative businesses that they are not welcomed in Louisiana’s Capital City.

In attempting to pass a special rights measure based upon sexual behavior last Wednesday, Councilman John Delgado ironically lashed out at opponents in his closing remarks alleging that their opposition to the controversial ordinance was using the council to impose a  "Christian version of Sharia law on the citizens of Baton Rouge."

The comments came after three and half hours of public comment on the so-called "Fairness Ordinance," a measure similar to the one recently adopted by the Houston, Texas, council and now the focus of a citizen-led referendum to overturn it.

The "Fairness Ordinance" would create a new cause of action in District Court for allegations of discrimination on the basis of various categories, including sexual orientation and gender identity, something the Louisiana Constitution explicitly prohibits.

"Led by my good friend Gene Mills of the Louisiana Family Forum, over 75 different churches and a number of prominent pastors assembled at the Metro Council meeting in opposition to the ordinance," Perkins continues, "many making the point it was not Christians and churches trying to make impositions upon the citizens but rather homosexual activists that are less than 3% of the population."

Germany "Like 1938" as "Berlin Police Cower Before Jew-Haters"

By Rick Pearcey • July 24, 2014, 10:02 AM

M.E. Synon reports at Breitbart:

A surge in anti-Semitism in Germany has led Yakov Hadas-Handelsman, Israeli ambassador in Berlin, to say it is like a return to the Nazi era: "They pursue the Jews in the streets of Berlin . . . as if we were in 1938."

His comments came as Islamists were blamed for an "explosion" of anti-Semitism that has undermined Germany’s efforts to banish racism since the Holocaust.

According to German news site dw.de, Hadas-Hannelsman said: "We have nothing against demonstrations or against freedom of expression -- that's the core of democracy. But when, as happened this weekend, it leads to violence against the police or against pro-Israeli demonstrators, then it is unacceptable. I think Germans should be worried by that, because you also hear anti-Semitic slogans like 'Jews into the gas' -- in Germany?"

"It was reported that a group of Arabs shouted 'Jew, Jew, cowardly pig, come out and fight alone' and 'Death to Israel' at a recent demonstration and police officers did not interfere," according to Breitbart. "The Berlin newspaper Tagesspiegel ran the headline: 'Berlin police cower before Jew-haters.'

Military Blimps in Maryland Skies

By Rick Pearcey • June 18, 2014, 11:10 AM

CBS affiliate WJZ TV in Baltimore reports:

Soon, Maryland will be the home to a couple of new landmarks. Actually, sky-marks.

As Mike Schuh reports, two large blimps will soon rise over Harford County and stay put.

Radar blimps like these have been used on the battlefield to track the enemy, and in the Caribbean to intercept drug runners. . . .

What will they be looking for? Anti-ship cruise missiles, unmanned aircraft and swarming boats.

These blimps are a lot like a toy balloon. They are unmanned and are held in place by a very long tether. . .

With a range from Richmond to Staten Island, privacy experts have concerns.

"That kind of tracking technology raises privacy concerns, and if the military wants to test hardware they should not be testing out on the American public," said David Rocah, ACLU staff attorney.

Aberdeen’s spokesman says that’s not happening.

"There are no cameras aboard the payloads of either of these aerostats. We are not going to be hovering around our neighbors around Aberdeen Proving Grounds, seeing what they are doing in their backyards; no cameras, no spying," [Aberdeen spokesman Kelly] Luster said.

But who is to say cameras and other spy equipment would not be placed onboard these balloons -- and other devices like them -- in the future, especially in a country already bossed about by a federal establishment that has untethered itself from the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution, which lay out principial and political grounds for human dignity and respect?

Loss of privacy already abounds in America -- think of NSA wiretaps, IRS prayertaps, Obamacare's invasion into our daily lives, abortion's invasion of the womb to seek and destroy millions of pre-born human beings.

But America is not alone in this. Think of the millions of human beings slaughtered by their own governments, an estimated 262 million in the 20th century.

But whether alone or not, we see that a machinery of oppression already exists in the "land of the free." This the brave question. And the brave who would be free resist.

Let there be no doubt: Sometimes what looks a lot like a toy balloon could be a toy balloon. And sometimes not.

Ronald Reagan: Fascism, "Isn’t This the Liberal Philosophy?"

By Rick Pearcey • June 5, 2014, 10:22 AM

Michael Chapman of CNSNews.com provides the following quote from a 1975 Ronald Reagan interview with Mike Wallace of 60 Minutes:

Someone very profoundly once said many years ago that if fascism ever comes to America, it'll come in the name of liberalism.

What is fascism? Fascism is private ownership, private enterprise, but total government control and regulation. Well, isn’t this the liberal philosophy?

The conservative, so-called, is the one that says less government, get off my back, get out of my pocket, and let me have more control of my own destiny.

Here is video of Reagan's comment.

As many as 227 million Americans may be compelled to disclose intimate details of their families and financial lives -- including their Social Security numbers -- in a new national database being assembled by two federal agencies.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau posted an April 16 Federal Register notice of an expansion of their joint National Mortgage Database Program to include personally identifiable information that reveals actual users, a reversal of previously stated policy.

"Under the April register notice," the Examiner continues, "the database expansion means it will include a host of data points, including a mortgage owner’s name, address, Social Security number, all credit card and other loan information and account balances."

Also included will be a "mortgage holder’s entire credit history, including delinquent payments, late payments, minimum payments, high account balances and credit scores, according to the notice," the Examiner reports.

"The two agencies will also assemble 'household demographic data,' including racial and ethnic data, gender, marital status, religion, education, employment history, military status, household composition, the number of wage earners and a family’s total wealth and assets," according to the Examiner.

Fascist Love: Meet the New Nazis -- and Their Victims

By Rick Pearcey • May 12, 2014, 08:34 AM

David Kupelian writes at WND:

Remember when, a few weeks ago, Newt Gingrich called the forced resignation of Brendan Eich as Mozilla CEO an "open, blatant example of the new fascism"? Charles Krauthammer called it "totalitarian," Pat Buchanan labeled it "the new blacklist" and RedState headlined it as "a fascist purge." Even foulmouthed leftist comedian Bill Maher described the perpetrators as the "gay mafia," while well-known "gay" media personalities condemned it, Andrew Sullivan saying it "disgusts me" and radio talker Tammy Bruce calling out the "gay gestapo."

As everyone knows, Eich -- the tech prodigy who created JavaScript and co-founded Mozilla, maker of the popular Firefox browser -- had committed the unpardonable sin of donating, years earlier, $1,000 to California’s Proposition 8 upholding traditional marriage. And when he was forced out as CEO of his company, it seemed everyone was shocked -- shocked -- at this singularly egregious injustice.

However, in reality, what happened to Brendan Eich -- widely denounced as "fascist," "totalitarian," "mafia"-like and "gestapo"-like -- is not only not unusual in today’s America, it has become a routine and disgraceful part of the normal warp and weft of our daily lives . . . .

Pink Is the New Brown: Mozilla, Homofascism, and the Pink Swastika

By Rick Pearcey • April 7, 2014, 11:43 AM

Attorney and author Scott Lively writes at BarbWire:

The cover-up of the homosexual roots of Nazism is one of, if not the greatest, feat of historical revisionism the world has ever seen. The sheer volume of documentation that has been suppressed to protect the homosexual movement from its own past is staggering.

Kevin [Abrams] and I are now working on the fifth edition of The Pink Swastika, a slow process, because, believe it or not, there is still such an enormous volume of additional material that our researchers have uncovered. I am methodically working (in my spare time) through a three-foot stack of photocopied pages from at least 200 new sources. The fifth edition may be over 500 pages long by the time we get finished with it.

Importantly, and alarmingly, The Pink Swastika’s claims linking homosexuality with fascism are also being proven by the emergence of a form of homo-fascism in our own society. The forced resignation of Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich is the latest example, but there are many in recent years. "Gay" bullies have become the new Brownshirts (just as they were the original Brownshirts).

Lively concludes: "History never repeats identically, there are always variations colored by culture of the day. The cultural color of Nazi Germany was brown, but in millennial America pink is the new brown."

Federalizing 4-Year-Olds: Human Freedom vs. the Theocracy of Secularism

By Rick Pearcey • March 12, 2014, 12:09 PM

Terry Jeffrey writes at CNSNews.com:

Will America be a better and freer country three decades from now if the children who turn four in this decade spend most of their waking hours with members of a government teachers union rather than with their moms?

President Barack Obama's vision of America, not surprisingly, starts with very young children spending their time in the custody of government employees.

"I believe we should start teaching our kids at the earliest ages," Obama said last week. When he used the word "we" here, Obama was not talking about Michelle and himself, he was talking about the government. When he used the words "our kids," he was not talking about his own children -- who attend the most expensive private school in Washington, D.C. -- he was talking about other people's children and grandchildren.

What Obama wants, quite literally, is their souls.

"So we're trying to help more states make high-quality preschool and other early learning programs available to the youngest kids," Obama went on, prosaically. The budget he presented to Congress was more concrete: It calls for $75 billion in federal spending over the next 10 years to support universal government "education" of 4-year-olds.

If you think Obama is satisfied with taking the 4-year-olds of America, think again.

"I think that there still needs to be great understanding of what the president has put on the table is really a birth-to-five proposal, recognizing that you can't start at 4-year-olds," Jeffrey quotes Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius as saying in April 2013 at the National Press Club.

"We really need to start at birth," Sebelius is also quoted as saying. "So, there will be an enhancement of home-visiting. . . ."

If I thought the secularist vision of life held intellectual weight, I would in all likelihood advocate similar policies, for what Obama & Co. are pushing is consistent with that vision's glorified view of the state and depressed view of the individual person, the family, and all else that might provide a check and balance on the governmental monopoly of power.

But the theocracy of secularism, which wars against the rules of freedom, lacks the intellectual and ethical resources to sustain human freedom and dignity. It is a conceptual and practical dead end.

Rather than submit to a metastasizing regime, it seems better that free-thinking Americans rise up, speak out, and throw out these totalitarian control freaks. It's called the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, the essence of being human, and liberating resistance in community with God and man.

Pink Jackboots: Opposing the Rising Tide of Homosexual Intolerance

By Rick Pearcey • March 7, 2014, 08:38 AM

E.W. Jackson, Sr., writes at the Washington Times:

As a descendant of slaves, I have a deep aversion to discrimination. It is born of the suffering of my ancestors because of their race. Nonetheless, homosexual behavior cannot be compared with the color of one’s skin, no matter how vigorously elites try to conflate them. . . .

Christians are not denying homosexuals entrance into their establishments, directing them to a special gay section in the back of the store or telling them to go to the back door. That is what Jim Crow laws did to Americans of African descent. Therefore, the comparison is disrespectful and needs to stop
. . . .

"Until now, America has honored freedom of conscience," Jackson continues. "That is what distinguishes us from authoritarian and dictatorial countries."

Jackson concludes: "Many Christians have been martyred for refusing to bow to human authority, which places itself above God. Therefore, in spite of liberals and homosexual activists slanderously likening our stand to slavery and Jim Crow, we will continue to love them and, at the same time, oppose their efforts to make us bow to same-sex marriage.

"In the past, standing up for the truth of God’s word has cost Christians their jobs, businesses, reputations and even their lives. It may come to that again, but we will never be silent, and we will not bow."

Washington Pushing Software to Measure Americans' Home Energy Use

By Rick Pearcey • January 14, 2014, 11:04 AM

CNSNews.com reports:

The Energy Department on Tuesday is rolling out new, improved software to help Americans measure the energy efficiency of their homes.

DOE says its energy-scoring software -- called the
Home Energy Scoring Tool -- is like a vehicle's mile-per-gallon rating because it allows homeowners to compare the energy performance of their homes to other homes nationwide. It also provides homeowners with suggestions for improving their homes' efficiency.

The Energy Department "says its Home Energy Score is useful if you are a homeowner looking to renovate or remodel your home, lower your utility bills, improve the comfort of your home, or reduce your energy usage," according to CNSNews. "Moreover, 'the score serves as an official way to document these improvements and thereby enhance your home's appeal when you're ready to sell.'

"Right now, getting your home scored is voluntary," CNSNews reports.

Will "Duck Dynasty" Controversy Awaken Americans to Homofascist Juggernaut?

By Rick Pearcey • January 8, 2014, 11:20 AM

The following statement is released by Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays:

The gay bullying and intimidation deployed against Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson is nothing new to the ex-gay community.

For too long in this country, gay rights organizations have incorporated ex-gay bashing as an integral part of their mission. Christian ex-gays are ridiculed for their faith, while people seeking therapy for unwanted same-sex attractions are painted as dangerously delusional.

On this one-way street of intolerance, former homosexuals are accused of being liars or fakes while transgenders are celebrated for changing their gender identity.

Using their political power and mainstream media support, gay activists work to keep ex-gays in the closet while demanding legal recognition of single-sex marriage as an equal right.

This well-organized and heavily-funded bullying of former homosexuals and ex-gay speech is known by the ex-gay community as "homofascism."

Like Phil Robertson, ex-gays are subjected to demands that they apologize for their existence and views. For gay "civil rights" groups, it seems that no worse sin exists than renouncing one’s own homosexuality.

For this cardinal offense, ex-gays and their supporters have to endure retaliation, public humiliation and economic loss unless they submit to public repentance, otherwise known as a gay "teaching opportunity."

Now we see that straights like Phil Robertson and his Christian family are also being subjected to homofascism.

Under homofascism, Mr. Robertson and ex-gays are expected to publicly atone, become enlightened, and proclaim that homosexual sex is normal, natural and healthy, despite medical facts to the contrary, their own personal religious beliefs, and an escalating AIDS rate among male homosexuals.

Anyone deviating from this sacramental belief is treated as a heretic, to be bullied into submission or censorship.

Those individuals who no longer want to act out homosexually, including minors who have been molested by a same-sex adult, are treated like the lepers in the Bible. They are seen as a dangerous threat to society, and their attempts to seek therapeutic help must be outlawed.

Is bullying and persecution a gay civil right? No, it’s not; homofascism is wrong.

Unless we stop it now as was accomplished with the Duck Dynasty backlash, homofascism will spread to persecute anyone who dares to disagree with the gay lobby, regardless if you live in Manhattan or the woods of Louisiana -- no one will be spared.

When irrational fears of male-female heterosexuality instigate demands for public censorship and obedience to the gay lobby, silence is not an option.

All who call themselves Christians must speak out against injustice and homofascism. Otherwise, we will lose America -- and our souls.

How Much of Your Life Should Government Track?

By Rick Pearcey • December 19, 2013, 09:35 AM

"Electronic devices are tools that can be used for good or evil. What matters is who uses them and for what purpose," Terry Jeffrey writes at CNSNews.com.

For example, says Jeffrey:

Electronic health records can make it easier for doctors to treat people who are sick and keep people well. Automated vehicles can make it easier, safer and more enjoyable for people to travel where they want and when they want. An intelligent electrical system could more efficiently deliver power to customers who want to spend their own money to buy it -- to keep their home or business as cool or warm as they like it.

And yet:

Electronic health care records could also be used in developing and enforcing a governmental system of health-care rationing. Automated vehicles could be used to stop people from going where, or when, the government does not want them to go. Remotely controlled thermostats could be used to stop people from heating or cooling their homes in the interest of, say, preventing "climate change." . . .

In recent decades, many of our political and cultural leaders have proudly denied the basic unchangeable rules of right and wrong. At the same time, politicians and judges have worn down the constitutional limits on the federal government.

"Were American politicians obedient to both the moral rules and the constitutional limits on government power, the dawning age of super-electronics would be an age of wonders," Jeffrey concludes. "In an era of growing government power and amorality, it could become an age of horrors."

Barack Obama Lies Like a Marxist

By Rick Pearcey • November 6, 2013, 10:30 AM

Editor in Chief of CNSNews.com Terry Jeffrey writes:

A week after he signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, President Barack Obama went on a road trip to Portland, Maine, to boast and prevaricate about what he had just done.

"So now that this bill is finally law and all the folks who have been playing politics will finally have to confront the reality of what this reform is, they're also going to have to confront the reality of what it isn't," said Obama, introducing a lie that has gotten belated, but much-deserved, attention in recent days.

"They'll have to finally acknowledge that this isn't a government takeover of our health care system," he said.

"They'll see that if Americans like their doctor, they will keep their doctor. And if you like your insurance plan, you will keep it. No one will be able to take that away from you. It hasn't happened yet. It won't happen in the future."

"Anyone who actually read the law, or even just a small part of it," Jeffrey counters, "would have known this was untrue."

By way of contrast, "in his first press conference as president in 1981, Ronald Reagan, who would lead the West to victory in the Cold War, startled the liberal press when he accurately described the mendacity of the leaders of the Soviet Union, who were seeking a 'one-world socialist or communist state'," Jeffrey continues.

The Soviets "have openly and publicly declared that the only morality they recognize is what will further their cause," Jeffrey quotes Reagan as stating, "meaning they reserve unto themselves the right to commit any crime, to lie, to cheat, in order to attain that, and that is moral, not immoral . . . . We operate on a different set of standards."

"Not anymore," Jeffrey concludes.

Americans Sign Petition to Support “Nazi-Style Orwellian Police State?

By Rick Pearcey • October 22, 2013, 09:57 AM

"A video shows Americans happily signing a petition to support a 'Nazi-style Orwellian police state'," Paul Joseph Watson writes at Infowars

"'Citing issues with how the government shutdown has impacted the ability of the police to 'keep the community safe,' [Mark] Dice tells San Diegans that there is a need to 'increase the Orwellian system'," Waston explains. "'Not a problem,' responds one man as he signs the petition."

"'We just want to model it after the Nazi Germany system to keep people safe and secure,' Dice tells another individual," Watson writes.

The video is titled, "I Support an Orwellian Police State in America," and you can view it here.

By the way, you can sign up for Obamacare here. It promises healthcare insurance safety and security for all.

Shutting Down Obama Is Not Shutting Down Government

By Rick Pearcey • September 19, 2013, 12:12 PM

. . . "It's shutting down authoritarian anarchy that pretends constitutionalism," I wrote yesterday.

But "you can't have anarchy and authoritarianism in a government at the same time," asserts a Facebook friend.

Is that so? Consider:

Obama's authoritarianism is expressed in his rejection of the rules of freedom (e.g., Declaration of Independence, where the center of gravity for human freedom is the Creator, not the state) and relies ultimately on raw power to impose his vision upon Americans (e.g., financial penalties, unending regulation, police, military, domestic spying, and so on).

It is anarchy because behind the mere form of governance is mob rule, czarist rule, unaccountable rule, a kind of lawlessness under the thumb of whoever happens to be occupying the White House.

Anarchy can be expressed not just in social chaos and the absence of form, but also in the authoritarianism of the mob and of the absolutized individual, while maintaining the pretense of form.

A 60s-style Hippie can be utterly authoritarian.

"Trainwreck": Boehner to Allow Vote to De-Fund Obamacare

By Rick Pearcey • September 18, 2013, 11:32 AM

"House Speaker John Boehner, in an abrupt turnaround, plans to let Tea Party lawmakers have a vote on de-funding Obamacare as part of a politically risky strategy which Democrats warn could result in a government shutdown," Fox News reports.

On the website, "Don't Fund It," Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas states: "We can de-fund Obamacare if Republican leaders who tell their constituents they’re conservative stand up and act like they’re conservative."

In addition to Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee of Utah also states on "Don't Fund It": "This is the last opportunity we’re going to have to stop Obamacare before the January 1 deadline so we have to refuse to fund it now."

"GOP leaders unveiled their plan to members [this] morning, teeing up a vote for Friday," according to Fox.

"The law's a trainwreck," Fox quotes Boehner as saying of Obama's grossly misnamed "Affordable Care Act." "It's time to protect American families from this unworkable law," Boehner said.

Miley Cyrus: The Tyranny of Porn, the Porn of Tyranny

By Nancy Pearcey • September 3, 2013, 11:19 AM

On the Miley Cyrus fiasco, Aldous Huxley gives the broader picture: As the public sphere becomes increasingly controlled and authoritarian, the private sphere -- for example, sexual behavior -- becomes increasingly wild and choatic. From his preface to Brave New World:

"As political and economic freedom diminishes, sexual freedom tends compensatingly to increase. And the dictator
. . . will do well to encourage that freedom. In conjunction with the freedom to daydream under the influence of dope and movies and the radio, it will help to reconcile his subjects to the servitude which is their fate."

Today, of course, there are far more technological escapes via the internet, etc. And Huxley's words echo what sociologists like Peter Berger have also said -- that as the public sphere is increasingly structured and controlled by Big Government and Big Corporations, ordinary people compensate with the rejection of structure and restraints in the private sphere (see Berger's book The Homeless Mind).

In the words of John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute, "Those concerned about the emerging police state in America . . . should be equally concerned about the pornification of America: They are two sides of the same coin."

Obamacare Troops Planning Home Visits

By Rick Pearcey • August 16, 2013, 07:42 AM

Bob Unruh writes at WND:

As you prepare for the IRS to start monitoring your health insurance and make your medical records accessible to thousands, perhaps you also should vacuum your floor, wash the windows and lock up any weapons, should you be so unwise as to actually have them.

It’s all in readiness for Obamacare, which will include home visits for many citizens, maybe even everyone, depending on the interpretation of the law.

Blogger Joshua Cook at BenSwann.com highlighted the issue just this week, although it’s been evident for some time.

He points out that the federal government is allocating hundreds of millions of dollars for state programs for "evidence-based home" visits.

"Health and Human Services' website states that your family will be targeted if you fall under the 'high-risk' categories below: Families where mom is not yet 21. Families where someone is a tobacco user. Families where children have low student achievement, developmental delays, or disabilities. Families with individuals who are serving or formerly served in the armed forces, including such families that have members of the armed forced who have had multiple deployments outside the United States," Cook wrote.

Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State

By Rick Pearcey • July 23, 2013, 10:31 AM

"Democrats and Republicans largely heaped praise upon Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano after she announced she would resign her post later in the year, but a longtime constitutional attorney says there is not much to applaud -- especially for anyone concerned about preserving freedom and limiting government intrusion in their lives," reports WND.

"What the Department of Homeland Security became under Janet Napolitano is this monstrous surveillance and very intimidating group," said John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute, according to WND. Whitehead, who was appearing on Radio America, is the author of A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State, which was published last month. Whitehead noted that he "criticized George Bush’s policies" but that "under President Obama, we’re zooming."

An example of this zooming, according to Whitehead, is a Homeland Security program called Operation Vigilant Eagle. Whitehead described Vigilant Eagle as a surveillance program conducted "on all returning veterans from overseas" and that it includes watching "Facebook posts, text messages," and "emails of returning veterans to see if they’re going to be disgruntled."

Whitehead said his group helped one such veteran file a "major lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security." According to Whitehead's description of the events leading up to the lawsuit, DHS agents showed up at the veteran's door, "arrested him," and "put him in a mental institution for his Facebook posts criticizing the government. We got him out, and then we sued the government."

WND also reports that "another outrage, according to Whitehead, is the harassment of Americans living on or somewhat near our national borders with Mexico and Canada. He said law-abiding citizens have been forced to hand over their laptops while the government officials download the information."

Also of great concern is the use of border drones against Americans. These drones "are flying inland, photographing, and watching what American citizens are doing" and providing "surveillance on American towns," Whitehead said. Drones coming in 2015 will have "scanning devices, rubber bullets, sound cannons," Whitehead reportedly said. "They can look through the walls of your home. They’re just going to bypass the Fourth Amendment, and they already are doing that."

Whitehead also "said that sort of activity will only get more common and more intrusive until the American people stand up and refuse to accept what he considers a major infringement on our constitutional liberties," WND reports.

Video: Tennessee Fascism? Did Police Shred Constitution at DUI Checkpoint?

By Rick Pearcey • July 8, 2013, 11:17 AM

Liz Klimas writes at The Blaze:

Many municipalities set up checkpoints for law enforcement to cut down on drunk driving over the Fourth of July holiday, but one stop in particular is getting national attention.

The now viral video posted to YouTube showing a man getting stopped at a DUI checkpoint in Rutherford County, Tennessee, has more than 2.8 million views as of Monday morning after being posted the night of the event.

The video includes what the driver believes to be a unconstitutional search of his car where an officer is even recorded saying the man is "perfectly innocent and he knows his rights."

"The Tennessean reported Rutherford County Sheriff’s public information officer Lisa Marchesoni saying the incident is being reviewed 'to determine if there are any policy or procedure violations'," according to the Blaze.

Liberal Bob Beckel Shreds Obama's Phone Spying: "You Talk About Fascism"

By Rick Pearcey • June 7, 2013, 09:58 AM

Bob Beckel on Fox News' The Five had this to say yesterday, in response to a NYTimes editorial titled, "President Obama's Dragnet":

I think it is one of the most outrageous examples of the stepping on the Constitution that I’ve heard. They have no right to phone records. These phone records, they get both sides. They monitor how long the phone converstation takes place. People who have no . . . they're not on record for anything.

This is the government getting into our business that it ought to be out. It is illegal, it is unconstitutional, and it is deplorable. I didn’t like it when they did it in the Bush administration and I don’t like when they’re doing it now. . . .

They're taking my phone records. Get your hands off my phone records! . . . The government has no right.

They have taken this Patriot Act, which I think was the most dangerous act passed, and they have taken it and they have abused it. . . .

You talk about fascism. You’re getting d--- close to it.

By Rick Pearcey • April 16, 2013, 11:25 AM

“It has come to my attention that there’s a Republican congressman out there who doesn’t like what I’ve been saying,” Levin said. “It’s come to my attention that there’s a Republican congressman out there, a fairly powerful one, who doesn’t like what I’ve been saying about him.

“And you know what this Republican congressman wants to do about it, Mr. Producer? He wants our major affiliate in his district where my program is heard to remove my show.

Extremist Barack Obama: Put Nation's 4-Year-Olds in "Public Preschools"

By Rick Pearcey • April 10, 2013, 05:56 PM

Terence P. Jeffrey reports at CNSNews.com:

Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are "better prepared for the demands of the global economy" and to help parents save on "child-care costs."

This is just more extremism from a politician who rejects the vision for humanity and vision for freedom that is the mainstream American position, as set forth in the enduring principles of the Declaration of Indpendence and Bill of Rights.

Everyone should understand that the "nation" or "America" does not have any children. Parents have children, not nations. And not governments.

And it is the God-given right and responsibility of parents -- not Washington, D.C., power-brokers -- to raise and oversee the education of their own children.

What Obama is doing is using the tried and true con of "education" to tempt hard-working parents to allow power-hungry politicians even more (unconstitutional) control over our children than they already improperly exercise.

Wisdom says no to the further spread of slavery and yes to human resistance in the name of liberty.

It is for the sake of real education and the dignity of the person that Americans should reject what is just more candy-coated extremism disgorging out of Washington.

As the Declaration of Independence makes clear, and as the verifiable information we have from the Creator makes clear, the center of gravity for human freedom and dignity is the Creator, and not the state.

This is the mainstream human position, and as a matter of history, it is the defining U.S. position. All else is extreme. And all else is extreme, even if that extremism is advocated under a sales pitch of education or on behalf of saving a few dollars (as if the federal government knows anything about saving money).

Mr. Obama, it would be better if you read (and submitted to) the Declaration of Independence. It would be better if you read (and submitted to) the Bill of Rights.

That's your job. To submit. To submit your ego and your thinking and your policies to the rules of freedom. It's also why you took to oath of office. Or do you have mental reservations, after all?

Reject extremism, Mr. Obama. Do your job. Remove your nose from our business.

And by the way, Republicans: You need to do a little reading too. And submitting, too. To the rules of freedom.

Fed-Up Christians Out to Defeat "Homofascism"

By Rick Pearcey • April 7, 2013, 03:26 PM

Bob Unruh reports at WND:

Hunt for the word "homophobia" -- purportedly a fear of homosexuality -- and Merriam-Webster, the ADL, Wikipedia, Oxford Dictionary, The Free Dictionary, the Reference Dictionary and others are ready to provide help.

But look for "homofascism" -- the use of homosexuality to bludgeon and batter the religious rights of Christians and others -- and the logical resources are silent, leaving it to blogs and others to define.

For example, at DefendProclaimtheFaith.org, a blogger wrote, "In light of all the information that I already posted and current information in this digest, I believe I may have coined a phrase. I am no longer titling the information as homosexual but homofascism. . . . I am going to use it because it fits this movement."

Son of Lesbian in Paris: Meet the "Gay" Police State

By Rick Pearcey • March 30, 2013, 12:54 PM

Robert Oscar Lopez writes:

On March 24, 2013, as I stood with other speakers waiting to take the stage at Paris's "manif pour tous" against homosexual marriage, I saw tear gas sail through the air at a crowd of peaceful protesters.

Children, elderly people, and elected officials were hit by the gas. Christine Boutin, the president of a major political party, passed out. Some videos showing what happened are posted on my blog here. . . .

The images of a police force, commanded by a gay Socialist mayor (Bernard Delanoe), shooting tear gas at children was worse than the imagery of Lt. Pike pepper-spraying college students in Davis, and worse, I would say, than the Jim Crow police force using dogs and water hoses on black children during the famous protests led by Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. . . .

Having spent so many years in the gay community, I found myself falling into an emotional nadir as violence marred events, both in Brussels and Paris. In both cases, it was the side militating for gay parenting that used physical intimidation: a combination of riled street thugs and armed riot police, the deadly cocktail of "unofficial" and "official" violence that characterizes the dynamics of so many police states. . . .

"Whatever becomes of same-sex marriage in the United States," Lopez concludes, "the gay movement poses a much longer-term problem. Homosexuality is not a sexual orientation, but rather an ideology. The LGBT movement is not a community, but rather a political machine. . . .  [I]t is the face of an ancient urge which must always be resisted: the lust for power and domination."

Memo to Conservatives: Accepting Homosex "Marriage" Opens Door to "Unlimited Statism"

By Nancy Pearcey • March 29, 2013, 01:00 PM

Editor's note: While the Supreme Court heard arguments on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California's Prop 8 this week, apologists for homosexual "marriage" ask how such an arrangement poses any harm to society. In fact, very much is at stake, and negatively so, for the individual person and for society at large, as Nancy Pearcey demonstrates below, in remarks published in 2011, prior to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C.

The conservative coalition has always been unstable. And homosexuality may be the issue on which it shatters.

Several groups have announced that they will boycott next month’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) because of its decision to invite the pro-homosexual activist group GOProud to participate.

Dissenting groups include the Family Research Council, Concerned Women of America, The American Principles Project, American Values, the Center for Military Readiness, Liberty Counsel, and the National Organization for Marriage.

Not all conservatives support the boycott. At Hot Air, Ed Morrissey opines that by pulling out, social conservatives create the perception "that they don’t even want to debate their position on homosexuality."

At Commentary, Peter Wehner says that these groups could give the impression "that they do not have the arguments needed to win on the merits."

Unfortunately, too many Americans already have that impression -- especially younger voters. A 2009 Pew study found that 58 percent of young adults 18 to 29 years old support same-sex "marriage," compared to 39 percent of the population nationwide.

By voting with their feet, however, social conservatives are not giving up, they are taking a public stand -- which creates a forum to make their case more effectively. They should take this opportunity to argue that the practice of homosexuality has a negative impact not just on the family but also on individuals -- that it expresses a profound disrespect for a person’s biological identity.

Biologically, physiologically, males and females are clearly counterparts to one another. The male sexual and reproductive anatomy is obviously designed for a relationship with a female, and vice versa.

Homosexual practice thus requires individuals to contradict their own biology. It disconnects a person’s sexuality from his or her biological identity as male or female -- which exerts a self-alienating and fragmenting effect on the human personality.

And the logic of alienation will not stop there. Already the acceptance of same-sex relationships is metastasizing into a postmodern notion of sexuality as fluid and changing over time.

For example, an article in the Utne Reader highlights individuals who came out of the closet as homosexual, but were later attracted to heterosexual relationships again. The article quotes psychotherapist Bret Johnson explaining that people today "don’t want to fit into any boxes -- not gay, straight, lesbian, or bisexual ones." Instead "they want to be free to change their minds."

What we’re seeing, Johnson concludes, is "a challenge to the old, modernist way of thinking 'This is who I am, period' and a movement toward a postmodern version, 'This is who I am right now.'"

In other words, yesterday I was straight, today I may be homosexual, and tomorrow I could be bisexual. One’s psychosexual identity is said to be in constant flux.

In the past, homosexuals employed the defense that they were born that way. But now they are beginning to embrace the postmodern idea that you can be anything you want to be along a sexual continuum.

This contradicts conservatism at its philosophical core. Conservatism bases human rights on the recognition that there are certain non-negotiable givens in human nature, prior to the state, which the state is obligated to respect.

As political scientist Philippe Beneton explains, in conservatism, equality "is grounded in the recognition of what is human." By contrast, in liberalism, equality "is founded on the claim that nothing is specifically human" -- that human nature itself is a social construction, something we make up as we go along, including our psychosexual identity.

In that case, however, there is nothing in the individual that is given, which the state is therefore obligated to respect. Liberalism undermines the basis for inalienable human rights.

The CPAC walkout is a chance to highlight what is at stake. Jesse Hathaway at NewsReal Blog defends CPAC, saying, "I’m a bit fuzzy on why it matters what a person does in the privacy of his or her bedroom, as long as it doesn’t affect me."

But it does affect him -- and everyone else. Every social practice is the expression of fundamental assumptions about what it means to be human. When a society accepts and approves the practice, it implicitly commits itself to the worldview that supports it -- all the more so if the practice is enshrined in law.

If America accepts practices such as same-sex "marriage," in the process it will absorb the accompanying worldview -- the redefinition of human personhood as a purely social construction -- which opens the door to unlimited statism, because there is no human nature that an oppressive state could possibly offend.

Those who resist will be compelled by the state to go along, or face penalties for "discrimination."

Margaret Thatcher used to say, "First you win the argument, then you win the vote." Instead of caving on this issue, the leaders of CPAC should be vigorously advancing the core arguments of conservatism. Not just to win the vote but to preserve the foundation of the American republic.

Tony Bennett: Gun Control or We Become Nazi Germany

By Rick Pearcey • February 11, 2013, 09:18 AM

The famed and likeable crooner recently demonstrated he understands neither the history of the Nazi rise to power nor the greatness of America.

“I just believe that assault weapons -- they were invented for war. They shouldn’t be on our streets here," Bennett said a few days ago.

"This is the kind of [turn] that happened to the great country of Germany, where the Nazis came over, created tragic things, and they had to be told off," Bennett continued. "And if we continue this kind of violence and accept it in our country, the rest of the world is going to take care of us in a very bad way. We should learn that we’re the greatest country because we’re all different nationalities, different religions, and we should show the rest of the world how to behave."

Not true, argues attorney and columnist Ben Shapiro. "The Nazis didn’t rise to power thanks to an armed population," he explains. "They secured their power at least in part thanks to a disarmed population. The Weimar government passed gun registration and licensing for all guns in 1928. And the Nazis were the purveyors of mass violence, not the result of it."

As for the U.S., "the notion that America is great because of her diversity, as Tony Bennett seems to say, not because of the freedoms guaranteed to each American by God -- freedoms protected by the citizenry itself -- is a vision of the universe that cannot stand the test of time. Diversity rests on rule of law. And rule of law rests on rights. And rights rest on the American people’s ability to protect their lives, liberties, and pursuit of happiness," Shapiro writes.

Video: Immigrant to Conn. Gun Panel -- "Few saw the 3rd Reich coming until it was too late"

By Rick Pearcey • January 31, 2013, 11:33 AM

Jason Howerton reports at The Blaze:

During a public hearing on gun violence in Hartford, Conn. on Monday, a legal immigrant by the name of Henson Ong issued a passionate defense of the Second Amendment and argued that gun control simply "does not work."

The video of Ong’s testimony has already surpassed 130,000 views on YouTube. . . .

"Your own history is replete with high school rifle teams, boy scout marksmanship merit badges," he explained. "You could buy rifles at hardware stores, you could order them . . . your country was awash in readily available firearms and ammunition, and yet in your past you did not have mass school shootings."

"What changed?" he asked. "It was not that the availability of guns suddenly exploded or increased, it actually was decreased. What changed was societal decay," he added, resulting in more applause.

In his conclusion, Ong quoted Judge Alex Kozinski in his 2002 dissent in the case of Silveira v. Lockye

"My excellent colleagues have forgotten these bitter lessons of history," Ong quoted Kozinski.

"The prospect of tyranny may not grab the headlines the way vivid stories of gun crime usually do. But few saw the Third Reich coming until it was too late," Ong continued.

"The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed only for those exceptionally rare circumstances when all other rights have failed," Ong read.

"A free people can only afford to make this mistake once."

Here is Youtube video of Henson Ong testifying on gun control at a public hearing in Hartford, Conn.

Mark Levin on Obama Gun Action: "This Is 1930s Stuff"

By Rick Pearcey • January 17, 2013, 10:00 AM

Jeff Poor reports at The Daily Caller:

On Wednesday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” conservative talk show host Mark Levin said President Barack Obama’s executive actions to curb gun violence, which were announced during a Wednesday press event, are as “un-American” and “fascistic” as they are unhelpful. . . .

“There are certain things in his executive orders that are un-American. In some ways they are fascistic. Doctors are private citizens. Do we really want doctors reporting to the federal government if they think somebody might have violent tendencies? . . .

“I think there are a couple things in it that are poison pills," Levin continued, "the attempt to nationalize the medical profession and to have doctors reporting their clients to the federal government, this is 1930s stuff."

Levin also blasted Obama's call for a "national database where all innocent law-biding citizens that buy guns are in a database. Can I ask you a question -- what does that do? I can understand a national database of criminals. Why do you need a national database of Americans that own guns? What is that for?”

Spying on School Kids

By Rick Pearcey • January 14, 2013, 12:29 PM

From the Washington Times:

School districts in Texas are using tracking chips to spy on students. That’s just fine with a federal judge who ruled Tuesday against Andrea Hernandez, a 15-year-old high school sophomore in San Antonio.

With the help of the Rutherford Institute, Miss Hernandez and her father filed a lawsuit arguing the creepy “student locator project” violated her constitutional rights.

"Like a growing number of institutions around the country, Northside Independent School District forces students to wear photo identification cards around their necks at all times," notes the Times. "Cameras also watch the every move of pupils as they roam the halls and use the playgrounds."

There's more. "The high school Miss Hernandez attends took the logical next step by requiring students to carry 'Smart IDs' with radio frequency identification chips (RFID) that enable administrators to pinpoint each child’s whereabouts in real time," the Times continues.

What's at stake? The Times reports that, "according to court documents, school officials implemented the program 'to further increase the safety of its students and hopefully increase State funding.'"

Safety? "Having school administrators monitor students at all hours won’t make them any safer,"  the Times counters. "In fact, it was a school board member who took the lives of 38 elementary students in Bath Township, Mich. in a horrific mass murder 86 years ago."

The Times suggests a truer motivation: "That state and federal officials love to blow taxpayer cash on gimmicks pushed by lobbyists regardless of whether they enhance learning. In this case, the school district hoped to pocket $1.7 million in state funding by embracing Big Brother."

It's an intriguing phenomenon: The increasingly secularized public school system has no room for the Creator -- who happens to be the source of unalienable human rights (see the Declaration) -- but welcomes with open arms the intimate impositions of Big Brother.

This steamrolling intimacy is an attack on the individual and the uniqueness and freedom of the person. Andrea Hernandez and family are humans and therefore are right to resist.

They are endowed by a knowable and verifiable Creator "with certain unalienable Rights," and among these rights are "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

In contrast, when Big Brother spies on you, no one is safe -- most of all, from Big Brother. But when the individual is the apple of the Creator's eye, all are set free.

In a broken world, this will not lead to perfection. But it will lead away from the "safety" of spying and micro-control wherein schools resemble education camps that honor submission over minds that are free.

Maybe this is what, in the end, really concerns Big Brother and his demanding disciples: The person properly in revolt exposes the idolatry and mental barbed wire of Big Brother, and that terrifies him.

The neighbors might see. They might remember who they are. That could ruin everything.

The Tyranny Cliff: "Teaching People to Love Their Servitude"

By Rick Pearcey • January 3, 2013, 01:19 PM

Robert Ringer writes:

Does any politician -- tea party? conservative? libertarian? -- have the honesty and courage to talk openly about the really important cliff, the one we’re still hanging onto by our fingernails? The cliff I’m referring to is the tyranny cliff.

Ringer gives "Barack Obama an 'A' for what he has managed to accomplish during his first four years in office -- moving the country toward Marxism and dictatorial rule at Mach speed."

But, says Ringer, Obama's success "has been a two-edged sword for him. He has moved so swiftly that he has also awakened millions of snoozing serfs who had heretofore been quietly and obediently marching in lockstep toward their enslavement."

But Obama is by no means soley responsible for this march into unfreedom, says Ringer.

Long before the rise of Obama, the Washington power-axis "had already established its superiority over its former employer, the citizenry, by teaching people to love their servitude."

Obama Administration: We Can and Will Force Christians to Act Against Their Faith

By Rick Pearcey • December 31, 2012, 08:45 AM

Terence P. Jeffrey writes at CNSNews:

In a legal argument formally presented in federal court in the case of Hobby Lobby v. Kathleen Sebelius, the Obama administration is claiming that the First Amendment -- which expressly denies the government the authority to prohibit the “free exercise” of religion -- nonetheless allows it to force Christians to directly violate their religious beliefs even on a matter that involves the life and death of innocent human beings.

Prof. Ellis Washington on "Nazi Roots of U.S. Gun Control Laws"

By Rick Pearcey • December 29, 2012, 11:36 AM

Professor Ellis Washington writes:

According to the comprehensive research by JPFO [Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership], all of America’s present gun-control laws have Nazi origins, evidenced by the group’s shocking accusation that the Gun Control Act of 1968 was plagiarized almost word for word from Nazi legislation.

According to Prof. Washington, the JPFO has also produced a chart "detailing the history of global gun control laws in just a few selected countries over the past 100 years; it is a Who’s Who of hatred of liberty, government fascism, disarmed civilians and genocide."

Arne Duncan: "Common Values" Trump "Constitutional Right to Bear Arms"

By Rick Pearcey • December 27, 2012, 04:05 PM

Susan Jones reports at CNSNews:

Americans value their children, their safety, and the right to pursue their dreams without fear -- and those "common values" trump the rights set forth in the U.S. Constitution, Education Secretary Arne Duncan said last Friday in a speech at a Washington, D.C., elementary school.

In the name of  "the children" (don't tell the aborted millions), "safety" (and who could possibly be more safe than defenseless children in a "gun-free zone"?), and the pursuit of "dreams" (controlled and directed by the Federal Department of Happiness, funded by monies pilfered from workers by governmental theft, aka, "social justice" and "redistribution"), Obama and Co. prepare the human battlefield for open and direct assault on the rules of freedom.

The counter-freedom hippie revolution of the sixties has produced hip extremists today who wear suits and ties and run the show in Washington, D.C.

Perhaps the matter they and their collaborationist media least want Americans to realize is they are the targets of a massive, well-funded, well-orchestrated transgenerational campaign of propaganda and community organizing against the rules of freedom and human dignity as set forth in the Declaration and U.S. Constitution, rooted in a real Creator who gives real unalienable rights.

You may not be interested in government and politics, but government and politics are interested in you. And in your money. And in your children. This may be why they show up in schools and make a really civil case for dispensing with a free society.

Plus, you get an Obamaphone. Batteries included. What could possibly go wrong?

That Americans might smell the wolf terrifies Capitol Hill and media extremists. Hence the daily doses of appropriately massaged "news" to discourage the reawakening of a populace with the backbone, means, and comprehension to put the federal government back in its cage and establishment radicals out of business.

Suit and tie tyranny decked out in pseduo-compassion may fool the civility police, but it is not cool. It hurts, too. Women, children, and minorities suffer the most.

Obama "Holiday" Card Spotlights Dog, Not Christmas (You May Not Like What Obama Really Wants for Christmas)

By Rick Pearcey • December 10, 2012, 11:58 AM

That would be "Bo Obama," a Portuguese water dog. Thus the savior of Obamaworld.

In contrast, real Christmas is about a verifiable and rationally knowable Jesus of Nazareth entering occupied territory in space and time to lead a movement of resistance against alienation, sin, death, and decay.

Of course the dog and the card arrive with soothing words: "This season, may your home be filled with family, friends, and the joy of the holidays."

But it is: Rank Hypocrisy. That soothes to conquer.

"Family" for Obama is merely a social construct, a counterfeit at war with the Creator and His liberating norms for family life and human community.

The dumbed-down Obama "family" is an arbitary power arrangement gift-wrapped under an authoritarian state that, among other violences, delegates to females the terror to decide who lives and dies. "Hi, Mommy. Good-bye, Boy."

Friends? Obama's "friends" work in secret day in and day out to ensure that the objective meaning of Christmas is censored from the public eye, lest the truth sets them free.

Tyrants from Herod's day until ours cannot stand the arrival of any challenger to their pretensions to power and authority over all. Beware comrades and cronies bearing gifts.

And "joy"? Tell that to a people living in darkness and oppression under an extremist regime of bread and circuses, carrots and sticks, and of hatred for and discrimination against the Creator and the rules of freedom, of which He alone is the source.

That kind of "joy" does not end well. Go ask the Gulag.

Obama for Christmas would have America focus on a dog. Dogs have leashes. What Obama wants for Christmas is America on a leash.

Gun Control's Racist Chamber

By Rick Pearcey • December 6, 2012, 10:39 AM

Columnist Erik Rush writes:

I find it both ironic and sad when I see blacks come out for gun control measures, particularly since the earliest gun-control legislation in America was aimed expressly at compromising blacks’ rights under the Second Amendment.

Historian, author and Second Amendment expert Clayton E. Cramer contends that the historical record provides ample proof that there has always been an undercurrent of racism behind gun control legislation, and that at one time, gun-control laws were an openly stated and understood device for keeping the black population in check.

"Liberal blacks who defend gun control on the basis of violent crime in the inner cities are also off base in overlooking that these urban areas have been under the complete political control of liberals for decades," Rush notes.

A little more critical distance vis-a-vis the real-world results of the liberal status quo may be in order. As Rush explains:

It is the destructive social policies of the left that have precipitated the dysfunction that leads to violence in the black community.

Indoctrinated blacks, of course, do not see the method behind the madness and thus eagerly embrace the simpleton’s impossible fix: Erase guns from the equation.

Like so many other Americans, blacks also accept at face value politicians' feigned concern for our safety.

"The bottom line," Rush argues, "is that Americans need to wake up to the fact that . . . all gun-control measures are efforts on the part of the political left to disarm Americans. As governments have known for millennia, unarmed populations are infinitely easier to control than armed ones. This effort will continue to move 'Forward,' particularly since Barack Obama was re-elected."

What is the point of the Second Amendment? Rush explains:

The Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America was intended to facilitate citizens’ protection from a tyrannical government should the occasion ever arise.

In layman’s terms, this means militarily engaging the operatives of a criminal regime -- with guns.

"The current administration is bristling with radical Marxists," Rush concludes, "and I would wager that 80 percent of Americans aren’t even capable of conceptualizing the lengths to which they are prepared to go to manifest their decades-long dream of a Marxist America."

Big Brotherhood: Egypt's Morsi Takes Dictatorial Powers

By Rick Pearcey • November 23, 2012, 09:13 AM

Associated Press reports:

Egypt's president [Mohammed Morsi] on Thursday issued constitutional amendments that placed him above judicial oversight and ordered the retrial of Hosni Mubarak for the killing of protesters in last year's uprising. . . .

The Egyptian leader also decreed that all decisions he has made since taking office in June and until a new constitution is adopted and a new parliament is elected -- which is not expected before next spring -- are not subject to appeal in court or by any other authority.

"The moves effectively remove any oversight on Morsi, the longtime Muslim Brotherhood figure who became Egypt's first freely elected president last summer after the Feb. 11, 2011 fall of autocrat Hosni Mubarak," AP reports. "They come as Morsi is riding high on lavish praise from President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton for mediating an end to eight days of fighting between Israel and Gaza's Hamas rulers."

Note: Morsi is now a dictator. This is after he "narrowly won the presidency -- about 52 percent of the vote -- to become Egypt's first freely elected and civilian president," AP reports.

Free elections do not guarantee freedom. Any country that elects a national leadership that rejects the rules of freedom opens wide the door to unfreedom.

As his record demonstrates, Barack Obama is an extremist who sees the rules of freedom, as set forth in the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence, as a barrier to his agenda. He narrowly won re-election on November 6, taking the popular vote of 50.6%, over against Mitt Romney's 47.8%.

Tyranny Watch: Valerie Jarrett's Extremist, Radical Roots

By Rick Pearcey • November 14, 2012, 07:44 AM

John Perazzo writes at Frontpage.com:

Like so many Obama appointees, Valerie Jarrett bears the unmistakable imprint of the president’s ideology.

She is a leftist to her core, with notable personal ties to the communist movement.

Jarrett’s maternal grandfather, for instance, was a Chicagoan named Robert Taylor, who in the 1940s was involved with such communist fronts as the American Peace Mobilization and the Chicago Civil Liberties Committee.

Also a member of these groups was Frank Marshall Davis, the communist journalist who in the 1970s would mentor a young Barack Obama.

Jarrett played a "key role in then-Senator Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign," Perazzo writes. "Following the election, Jarrett was appointed as a senior advisor and assistant to Mr. Obama, who admittedly consults Jarrett on every important political decision he makes."

Moreover, apparently, when Jarrett speaks, Obama speaks. "Indeed," Perazzo writes, "the president once told a New York Times reporter that he completely trusts Jarrett "to speak for me, particularly when we’re dealing with delicate issues.”

What does this mean? What this means is that radical extremists who despise the rules of freedom occupy establishment Washington.

Yes, the establishment, the so-called mainstream, can be extreme.

Extremism is not determined by counting noses but by measuring the distance that radicals, even if there are many of them, have departed from the enduring center of human freedom and dignity (see, for example, the Decaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution).

The task of every American who loves his neighbor, who respects the rules of freedom and the Creator (that is, not Washington) who has endowed humanity with unalienable rights, is to remove these extremists from power. And replace them with lovers of freedom.

Spencer: Liberals Arguing Like Brownshirts

By Rick Pearcey • November 12, 2012, 08:10 AM

Robert Spencer at American Thinker analyzes methods of scorn, ridicule, and "anti-debate" used by English comedian Russell Brand to attack Islam-critic Pamela Geller when she recently appeared on his Los Angeles-produced TV show.

These methods, Spencer argues, are the "tactics of hyenas, of totalitarians, of the Nazi brownshirts who used to show up at the lectures of dissenting professors, not to argue with them, but only to heckle them, threaten them, and demoralize them, so as to intimidate them into silence."

President's Bully in Chief: Obama Is Telling Kids, F--- Your Parents

By Rick Pearcey • November 2, 2012, 10:00 PM

Drew Zhan reports at WND:

A newly compiled video exposes the chief “anti-bullying” activist endorsed by the Obama administration spewing an obscenity-laced, startling message to “gay” kids in America.

The White House website, under its “Civil Rights” section, iincludes links and videos recorded by Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and others, supporting the mission of “gay” activist Dan Savage's It Gets Better Project, an effort to help homosexual teens survive bullying during their teenage years.

"But a recent video produced by the Faith Family Freedom Fund reveals Savage has touted the White House’s support as proof the president is backing his shocking message," reports WND.

And what does backing that message mean? This:

“That meant,” Savage says of Obama’s participation in his It Gets Better Project, “the president of the United States was telling queer kids, ‘There’s something wrong with your parents, there’s something wrong with your preachers, there’s something wrong with your teachers, and f--- those people!’”

Judge Approves of Texas Plan to Defund Planned Parenthood

By Rick Pearcey • October 27, 2012, 11:01 AM

Kirsten Andersen reports at LifeSiteNews.com:

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals refused to hear Planned Parenthood's complaint about a Texas law that bars their participation in the state’s Medicaid program on Thursday, allowing Texas to withhold state funds from the abortion provider.

Planned Parenthood argued unsuccessfully that the law violates Medicaid patients’ constitutional rights.

The “ruling affirms yet again that in Texas the Women’s Health Program has no obligation to fund Planned Parenthood and other organizations that perform or promote abortion,” said Governor Rick Perry celebrating the decision.

“In Texas we choose life, and we will immediately begin defunding all abortion affiliates to honor and uphold that choice.”

Bravo, Texas! You are on the right side of science, ethics, and reality-oriented language, not to mention the rules of freedom as expressed in the Declaration and U.S. Constitution.

And bravo, Texas! For standing up to Planned Parenthood, which is neo-fascist and immoral and extremist in its bloody profitable practice of imposing torture and death upon innocent human life.

And shame on you, Planned Parenthood. Keep your reproductive fascism off the bodies of the "least of these." And quit trying to steal funds entrusted into our stewardship by the Creator so that you can selfishly profit in death.

By Rick Pearcey • October 22, 2012, 08:30 PM

Or as she said on air: "I'm a proud member of the 'Gay Gestapo.'" This was her witty retort to a profamily, pro-marriage spokesman who had taken issue with Costello for sharply cutting him off in a previous program, as he was beginning to cite evidence of the unhealthy nature of homosexual behavior.

After Obama Gaffe, Planned Parenthood Admits: No Mammograms

By Rick Pearcey • October 19, 2012, 10:43 AM

John Jalsevac reports at LifeSiteNews:

The day before hundreds of pro-life activists prepared to flood Planned Parenthood’s offices with requests to schedule a mammogram, the organization issued a statement admitting that they do not offer the cancer screening procedure at any of their facilities.

LifeSiteNews also reports that "Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards herself sowed confusion by citing 'mammograms' among her organization’s services in February last year."

The biggest "confusion" Planned Parenthood spreads is that it offers "health services."

This would be on par with saying the Jews during WWII availed themselves of Nazi "transportation services" to relocate to new digs in Auschwitz.

Planned Parenthood language tries to hide an ugly fact: "Pro-choice" abortion is fascist. Utterly fascist.

Planned Parenthood lies. And babies die. Some industries and some people swim in blood.

I Lived Socialism: A False Ideology Against Gold, Guns, God

By Rick Pearcey • October 13, 2012, 12:34 PM

Virginia Prodan experienced socialism first-hand in Communist Romania and now rings a bell of warning for us here. She writes:

Twenty-four years ago, I was a political refugee exiled from communist Romania to freedom in America. But today, America is in need of freedom.

Socialism is spreading in America like a horrible sickness.

It is time for those of us who experienced socialism to speak up.

To read Prodan's description of existence in Ceausescu's Romania is to realize that elements of that system of oppression and control are already in place in Obama's "fundamentally" transformed America.

Obama and his cadres in media, Hollywood, and the academy will do all in their power to maintain an outward shell of constitutionality. But this is propaganda. It is a language and veneer of freedom to manipulate the impression that all is well.

But inside the shell of "equality," "tolerance," and "fairness" is much darkness indeed. Inside is an establishment in extreme alienation and aggression against the Delcaration and Constitutional thoughtforms the yielded America as a "shining city on a hill" in the first place.

History show us that conditions can only get worse, far worse, if America is subjected to further oppression in a part 2 of the Obama regime.

Come November, in less than four weeks, we can rise up and throw the invader into the sea.

If Obama really wants to rule a fundamentally transformed country, maybe he should try moving his community organizing schtick to Red China. They don't have as many distractions there.

Moroccan Warships Block Floating Abortion Mill

By Rick Pearcey • October 4, 2012, 02:46 PM

John-Henry Westin reports at LifeSiteNews.com:

Moroccan authorities have taken action against the floating abortion mill commandeered by the Dutch abortion group Women on Waves.

In a press release today, the abortion activist group notes that their ship was due to arrive in the harbor of Smir at 1pm local time but was blocked by warships.

“Marina Smir has been completely closed,” says the release. “Warships now block the entrance for the ship of Women on Waves.”

On shore, according to Australian news reports, abortionist Rebecca Gomperts the head of the organization was taken away by police for her own protection after protesters carrying graphic abortion photos called her a “terrorist” and an “assassin.”

Greece: Neo-Nazi Golden Dawn Given "Police Powers" Over Immigrants

By Rick Pearcey • September 29, 2012, 01:43 PM

At International Business Times:

Greek police have been accused of directing the victims of crimes allegedly committed by immigrants to seek retribution from the violent neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party. . . .

Support for the Neo-Nazi party is soaring in the near-bankrupt state, as are racially motivated attacks on immigrants. . . .

[I]n September, a dozen flag-waving Golden Dawn supporters raided a street market in northeast Athens, asking migrants to show their passports and overturning their stalls to leave space for Greek vendors.

The reporting regarding the Neo-Nazi group Golden Dawn echos what we know of the critical events of 1930s Germany.

What is crucial is to learn from the past -- and the present. That is, to realize that similar events, with all-too-similar outcomes, can occur in any nation that lacks the cultural foundations to sustain human freedom and dignity.

Barack Obama and the Democrat Party, and not a few squishy secularized Republicans, have operated for years in alienation to those foundations.

The language and outward trappings of freedom are maintained, but the machinery, practice, and thoughtforms energizing the nuts and bolts of governance are in the opposite direction.

It can be argued, therefore, that both parties equally risk disaster, the Democrats at full speed, the Republicans at a jog. Or better, a stumble.

Societies built on shifting sand, and the freedoms of societies build on shifting sand, will not stand against the winds and rains of life in a broken world.

It matters not whether you call yourself Greece or the USA. It matters not whether you call yourself Democrat or Republican. When the foundations finally erode, the house of freedom will fall.

Far better to build the house upon the rock. Wind and rain will still come. Crisis is unavoidable in a broken world.

Let us, therefore, counsel realism, not despair. For a house built upon the rules of freedom, rooted in a real and verifiable Creator who endows humanity with unalienable rights, will stand.

This is the secret of a "shining city upon a hill." Available to all.

Ancient Greece did not have this message, and neither does Athens today. But the American Founders did, and they expressed that vision-for-freedom in the Delcaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution.

America today hangs in the balance: Will she go the way of ignorance, liberated from freedom and encouraged to accept totalistic state control over lunch rooms, patients, toilets, media, churches, filmmaking, energy, and more?

Or will she advance on the sure foundations of life secured in knowledge and freedom and community liberated -- with our humanity intact -- by a Creator who is objectively and knowably there?

The November election is crucial.

It is a moment to stand in the gap and push back the invader. But it is also an opportunity to educate the wobbly. And to expand the beachhead of freedom in America again.

That's right. Sometimes "Love Thy Neighbor" means hitting the beach.

Imposing Extremism: School Kids to Drink "Gay" Power Kool-Aid

By Rick Pearcey • September 26, 2012, 09:23 AM

Scott Lively writes at WND:

LGBT History Month is not yet universally adopted by public schools. Nevertheless, throughout October tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands of innocent school children will be subjected to the most despicable brainwashing ever conducted in American classrooms. They will be taught, through carefully constructed lesson plans, to view homosexuals as a superior class of human beings whose influence on society has been wholly benign, but whose contributions to society have been limited due to irrational prejudice and bigotry. They will learn the importance of protecting homosexuals from societal “homophobia,” perhaps even emanating from their own parents, and that homosexuality is a perfectly normal and healthy (and unchangeable) form of sexual identity. In other words, they will be indoctrinated in provably false and thoroughly biased pro-”gay” propaganda.

After documenting the unsavory origins and twisted direction of "gay" power extremism, Lively concludes:

The “gay rights” movement is not benign. Its history is a poisoned stream whose headwaters begin in the swamp of Sadean perversion and whose direction was set by the same people who created the Nazi Party. In America its course has run mostly through underground sewers until the past few decades when control of the movement fell into the hands of modern marketing experts who have hidden the truth under a white-washed facade of their own shrewd design. And it is this sugar-sweetened poison that is about to be spoon-fed to America’s public school students. It is a “gay” Kool-Aid of dangerous lies and it is to our great shame that this once-Christian nation will allow these innocent children to consume it without so much as a whimper of protest.

Top Muslim Calls for U.N. to End Free Speech

By Rick Pearcey • September 19, 2012, 08:54 AM

Drew Zhan reports at WND:

One of the world’s most influential Muslims is now calling on the United Nations -- in light of the YouTube movie blamed for violent protests across the Mideast -- to impose international restrictions on free speech, criminalizing any statement that impugns Islam.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Bayyah, a professor at King Abdul Aziz University in Saudi Arabia, is a member of several international organizations, including the Centre for Studying the Aims of Sharia in the U.K., as well as serving as the vice chairman of the International Union of Muslim Scholars.

In a "Declaration Regarding the Offensive Video to Muslims," Bin Bayyah writes:

We ask everyone to ponder the ramifications of provoking the feelings of over one billion people by a small party of people who desires not to seek peace nor fraternity between members of humanity. This poses a threat to world peace with no tangible benefit realized.

Is it not necessary in today’s world for the United Nations to issue a resolution criminalizing the impingement of religious symbols? We request all religious and political authorities, as well as people of reason to join us in putting a stop to this futility that benefits no one.

DNC Video: "Gov't Is the Only Thing That We All Belong To"

By Rick Pearcey • September 4, 2012, 06:55 PM

What an offensive, demeaning proposition spouted in this video: Belonging to "the government."

This is additional evidence that the Democrat Party stands outside and even against the enduring mainstream of what defines America.

As the U.S. mainstream is defined in the Declaration and Constitution, it's "We the People," under God -- that is, in liberating community with the Creator by whom we are endowed with unalienable rights.

The Creator, and not the state, is the center of gravity of human freedom. Washington-centrism is an offense to the human spirit.

Memo to Democrat Party: "The government" belongs to us. As free-thinkers we can decide, under God, how to arrange our lives -- as individuals, as families, as neighborhoods, as communities, as towns, as counties, as states, and as a nation.

The federal government is merely one of the many governments in the United States. And again, it belongs to us. We do not belong to it.

Author of "The Pink Swastika": The Strange, Strange Story of "Gay Fascism" Deniers

By Rick Pearcey • August 29, 2012, 10:29 AM

Dr. Scott Lively writes at WND:

Now, I have a special interest in this article ["The Strange, Strange Story of Gay Fascists," at HuffPo] because I am the co-author, along with Orthodox Jewish researcher Kevin E. Abrams of The Pink Swastika: Homosexuality in the Nazi Party, which makes a nearly identical claim, but one backed with nearly 400 pages of documentation.

What I find most interesting about Hari’s article is that it has garnered virtually no opposition.

The few comments on the HuffPo page are mostly benign, and if you do a search on Hari’s name you find not a single suggestion that his article constitutes “Holocaust revisionism” or that he, himself, is a “homophobic bigot.”

That’s very strange, because I’ve been called both a revisionist and a bigot for writing The Pink Swastika.

Indeed, the Southern Poverty Law Center (that legendary beacon of fair-mindedness) has labeled me a “hate group” for writing it (though they refuse to publicly debate me on the issue). . . .

Re: TSA Agents Frisk Elderly Paul Ryan Supporters

By Rick Pearcey • August 23, 2012, 03:42 PM

Jim Kane writes at Gather.com:

Transportation Security Administration screeners are now being deployed to political events and were spotted patting down senior citizens at a Paul Ryan speech in Florida.

There's more at The Shark Tank, which notes: "We heard that the TSA was going to expand its ummm, ‘reach,’ but to assist in political campaigns is quite the jump in broadening their ‘transportation security horizons'."

Infowars.com provides context:

As we have previously documented, airport security style checkpoints and inspection procedures are already in place at bus terminals, train stations, and are rapidly being expanded to the streets of America.

Agents have even been spotted roaming around at public events such as sports games and music concerts, and even at high school proms.

The TSA even moved beyond its own borders this summer as agents were dispatched to airports in London for the Olympic Games.

Kane reminds us that "during the 2008 campaign, then-candidate Barack Obama stated, 'We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful' as the United States military. Perhaps the airport screeners are the civilian army he was talking about."

Kane concludes: "It's awful that Americans are becoming so inured to being patted down by creepy TSA screeners. The agency is becoming omnipresent in society. Isn't the Secret Service enough to protect candidates at political rallies?"

As for the Secret Service -- yes, it probably is enough to protect candidates. But what if the purpose of the TSA and similar arms of the federal government is broader? It's an honest question.

Omaba & Co. (which could include any among the Washington-centric establishment, including Republicans) may have calculated that a civilian army is needed to protect the federal government -- from the people.

Especially from those who expect presidents, congressmen, senators, and federal bureaucrats to uphold their oath to respect and protect the Constitution of the United States.

It's an honest consideration. And why we have the 2nd Amendment.

The Founding generation knew about the dangers of overweening control. The Washingtons, Jeffersons, and Madisons understood: The bigger the government, the smaller the people.

They understood the need to safeguard responsible authority so that it does not transmogrify into oppression, which has been the unfortunate norm throughout human history.

So when a 70- or 80-year-old grandmother is frisked by a "civilian army," freedom cries out. Her family, her community, her country come to the rescue.

It's the humane thing, the freedom thing, and the Creator-endowed "unalienable right" thing to do.

Let's hope the TSA isn't there to get in the way.

Obamacare Mentality vs. Homeschool Freedom

By Rick Pearcey • August 18, 2012, 12:43 PM

Matthew Hennessey writes at First Things:

“It’s a free country” may not continue to resonate with Americans for much longer . . . .

As Obamacare’s individual mandate was predicated on the notion that costs incurred by an individual but borne by society necessitate government intervention, politicians in this country could easily be convinced -- by, say, teachers unions -- that homeschoolers are no different than the uninsured in the costs they impose on the rest of us.

Doesn’t society suffer if kids aren’t being properly socialized? Don’t institutions suffer if children aren’t being properly educated into citizenship? . . .

The progressive critics of homeschooling are less interested in promoting tolerance than they are in promoting compliance. It’s the freedom that bothers them, not what kids learn or how well they learn it. . . .

If the state appoints itself to guard against indoctrination by parents, who is to protect children from indoctrination by the state?

Hennessey concludes: "A government that can force you to buy health insurance can surely force children into the public school system. When that happens, will we still be a free country?"

"Gay" Totalitarianism

By Rick Pearcey • August 7, 2012, 10:01 AM

As Jeffrey Lord writes at American Spectator, the "rainbow" rage exhibited by homosexualist extremists at Chick-Fil-A expresses a recognizable mindset that values not freedom and tolerance but instead control and shutting down dissent:

Leftist intolerance for dissent and opposition is as old as the blood soaked guillotines of the French Revolution. Not to mention the Revolution's 20th century descendants from Communists to the Nazis (aka the National Socialists) to their more modern American cousins like all those progressives who hid for decades behind the hoods of the Ku Klux Klan or a few decades later appeared as Bill Ayers and his bomb-setting brethren in the Weathermen.

Most recently these people were on the prowl in the Sandra Fluke dust-up, haughtily demanding that Rush Limbaugh be silenced by removing him from the airwaves. And at various times with various affect they have targeted Lou Dobbs during his CNN tenure, Glenn Beck at Fox, and Pat Buchanan at MSNBC. Not to mention the big push from the early Obama White House itself to try and shutdown Fox News with repeated attacks.

We haven't even touched here on those little gems of fascism on various college campi known as "speech codes."

"For those unfamiliar with the basic tenets of the Left," Lord continues, "there has now been provided in the Obama-era a four-year crash course in how leftism really works in early 21st century in America."

True enough, the "guillotine may be physically departed to the historical mists, but the televised images of an SEIU thug beating up an opponent of Obamacare capture the same mindset at work.

"Lenin may still lie embalmed in Moscow, but his spirit and that of the Russian Revolution haunts the riots launched by the Occupy Wall Street crowd."

In addition, "even the tamer example of the Obama administration deciding that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was something they didn't like -- and thus refused to enforce the law -- displays the Left's historic contempt for such a trifle as the Constitution."

And let us not forget the "full-fledged attack on religious liberty that is the administration attempt to force the Catholic Church to violate its fundamental beliefs to appease HHS bureaucrats."

Rainbow Fascism and the Cluck Heard 'Round the World

By Rick Pearcey • August 4, 2012, 12:24 PM

Columnist and attorney Matt Barber writes:

Writer Sinclair Lewis is credited with saying, “When fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and waving a cross.”

Close, but not quite. Truth is, fascism has come to America; but it’s wrapped in a rainbow flag and waving, well, let’s just say it sure ain’t waving a cross. With its latest wave of scorched-earth malfeasance, the radical left has awakened freedom-loving America to this reality.

Liberals learned a hard lesson on Wednesday. While the generally silent majority was showing exuberant support for free speech, the institution of true marriage and Chick-fil-A, “progressives” were gorging themselves on crow sandwiches doused in bitter hate.

While Chick-fil-A was eating at liberals, millions of God-fearing Americans were eating at Chick-fil-A.

Barber's column includes this strategic point:

Wednesday’s massive outpouring of support for Chick-fil-A provided a visual reminder to all concerned that the vast majority of morally minded Americans reject the oxymoronic notion of so-called “same-sex marriage.”

It proved with earthshaking resonance that liberals’ whole “gay-marriage-is-inevitable” thingy remains as sterile as the fraudulent concept itself.

Don’t forget, we live in a constitutional republic where “we the people” are the sovereign, and elected officials are the hired help. When “we the people” have spoken on marriage, we’ve spoken without stuttering.

The Big Lie Lives. But Why?

By Rick Pearcey • July 31, 2012, 07:43 PM

A Thomas Sowell column titled "Big Lies in Politics" and appearing in The American Spectator begins like this:

It was either Adolf Hitler or his propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels, who said that the people will believe any lie, if it is big enough and told often enough, loud enough. Although the Nazis were defeated in World War II, this part of their philosophy survives triumphantly to this day among politicians, and nowhere more so than during election years.

What follows is the usual superb commentary by Sowell. What interests me here, however, is a comment I saw on Facebook, in response to Sowell's opening paragraph.

A woman wrote, "This is important counter-information for Americans to consider, but how many will never hear it because they'll stop reading after the Hitler comparison?"

Let me therefore address the question of the Big Lie and Hitler comparisons.

The Nazis were experts in the practice of the Big Lie and its application to manipulate the masses.

And it is no secret that politicians today now routinely lie in their campaigns and in their governance, resting in the assurance that pointing out their discontinuities with reality will be met with social disapproval -- after all, truth-telling is just not polite in that genteel bloodsport AKA American politics.

To cast this in Schaefferian terms, secularized politicians today practice their art comfortably ensconced in the "upper story," basking in the assurance of their transcendent infallibility because political propositions function apart from reason, evidence, and discrete facts and therefore can never really be proven wrong.

Thus a press that protects the ruling class, and press officers who deliver the truth of the moment. And what you call "facts" raised in opposition are really just expressions of race, class, oppression, and structual bad faith.

You might call this phenomenon "faith" and those who drink and live by this Kool-aid "believers."

"Spin," perhaps, is the favored term of art to reconcile society to this enfeeblement of modern political discourse and decision-making.

However, we also hear about "Never again!" and about the terribleness of not learning the lessons of history, lest we repeat the bloody failures of the past, with special reference to 1930s and 1940s Germany, the Holocaust, and so on.

And yet, one might think that if a free and fearless people are to avoid the re-establishment of those dark days again, there surely must be a place for exposing current deceptions for what they are, including their ignoble geneology reaching back to the thunderous, awe-inspiring gods of National Socialism.

The technique of the Big Lie lives for at least two reasons: 1) it works and 2) it is well defended. These guys are too saavy to show up wearing jack-boots again.

Note: A similar version of these remarks first appeared on Facebook.

Video: Muslims Stone Christians -- in Dearborn, Michigan

In [this video], we see a small number of Christians who gathered holding Christian signs at the 2012 Dearbor, Michigan Arab festival being assaulted by Muslims with bottles, stones, and other objects.

The police do not protect the Christians or take action against the perpetrators; in the end, they reprimand the Christians and instruct them to leave.

Ever since, there has been no coverage of this outrageous event in our media. Nor has CAIR or any other Muslim organization denounced the Muslims who abused the Christians.

A federal appeals court has rejected claims by passengers and pilots that the TSA invaded their privacy and violated their rights by demanding pat-down inspections or full-body scans.

In fact, the ruling reported today by the Rutherford Institute affirms a district court ruling from Judge Henry H. Kennedy Jr., who cited a “secret” order from the TSA as the reason he rejected the cases.

The government, insisting that the “secret” order contains “sensitive security information,” has refused to make public the document outlining the procedures, according to John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute.

Gov't Official Rebukes Bishops on Catholic Sexual Teaching: "You're not allowed to do that anymore"

By Rick Pearcey • April 5, 2012, 08:55 AM

Lifesitenews reports:

Catholic schools will no longer be allowed to teach the Catechism’s doctrine that homosexual acts are “intrinsically disordered,” says a cabinet minister in Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty’s government.

As politicians debated a bill that would force Catholic schools to launch gay clubs on March 29th, Member of Provincial Parliament Glen Murray (Toronto Centre) lashed out against Ontario’s bishops over Catholic teaching on homosexuality.

“I have to say to the bishops: ‘You’re not allowed to do that anymore,’” said Murray, an open homosexual who serves as McGuinty’s Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, according to the Hansard transcript.

Day 2: Supreme Court Will Likely Strike Down Obamacare, 5-4

Virginia AG: If Obama Mandate Stands, Gov't "Can Order You to Do Anything"

By Rick Pearcey • March 20, 2012, 08:12 AM

Melanie Hunter reports at CNSNews.com:

“If the government can just order you to buy something, and fine you if you don’t” -- the way the individual mandate of Obamacare requires every American to buy government-approved health insurance and fines them if they don’t comply -- “they can order you to do anything,” Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli said during an appearance on C-SPAN’s “Newsmaker” on Sunday.

Malkin: First, They Came for the Catholics

By Rick Pearcey • February 1, 2012, 08:02 AM

Michelle Malkin writes:

President Obama and his radical feminist enforcers have had it in for Catholic medical providers from the get-go. It's about time all people of faith fought back against this unprecedented encroachment on religious liberty. First, they came for the Catholics. Who's next?

The cancer of abortofascism continues to spread. Pre-born human beings are being destroyed on the train tracks of the abortion industry, and now Catholics are being told they must salute and help fund the new regime and the old slaughter.

Apparently, "Christian" Obama and his iron-fisted, unconstitutional, anti-Declarational regime have ways of forcing Americans to comply with the dictates of "choice."

In an America where an atheistic secular state demands religious obedience to its dictates, citizens are learning that privacy under God is dead, liberty under God is dead, and choice under God is dead.

To the degree that this violence against the enduring American mainstream is allowed to stand, it means America also is dead. Unless those who remember who we are rise up.

Tactics of Tyranny: Leftist Mob Organizes Against GOP

By Rick Pearcey • January 11, 2012, 08:00 AM

Matthew Vadum writes at Frontpage:

The Obama-backed “Occupy” movement has been working nonstop in New Hampshire bullying, intimidating, harassing, and provoking the Republican Party’s presidential candidates.

It is the kind of unseemly, Latin American-style political activism that threatens to become a permanent feature of American politics if President Obama wins a second term.

It’s also the classic Saul Alinsky “inside/outside” strategy. Ensconced in the White House Obama appears to remain above the fray while his loyal minions on the outside of officialdom do their best to irritate and embarrass his Republican adversaries.

The activists attend the candidates’ campaign events, shouting and carrying on in an attempt to prevent Republicans from speaking.

They’re not interested in honest discussion or debate: their only goal is to silence the opposition.

"The Occupiers’ tactics are the kind one might expect to see from the Italian squadristi or the German Sturmabteilung," Vadum notes. These authoritarian tools of fascist Europe "used physical coercion and intimidation to halt the democratic process."

Obama's Fascist Economy

By Rick Pearcey • September 21, 2011, 08:33 AM

Steve McCann writes at American Thinker:

Barack Obama and his minions in the administration as well as many Democrats in the Congress are often described as Socialists, or in the extreme as Marxists. However, their actions and strategy are straight out of the fascist economic playbook. They have become the modern reincarnation of the fascist mindset, without the militarism of Italy and Germany, that dominated Europe in the 1920s and '30s.

Join Obama's Secret Police, Make Friends, Inform on Neighbors

By Rick Pearcey • September 14, 2011, 11:24 AM

Unemployed and losing hope? Well, Barack Obama has just the thing for you: Inform on your neighbors, colleagues. You know, anything suspicious.

Yes, that's right.

Go to "My.BarackObama.com" or "AttackWatch.com" and learn now to "report an attack" ("Get the facts. Fight the smears").

All you have to do is supply your email and then provide the Ministry of Love and Community with the "content of attack or link."

Why would you want to go all Secret Police and Stasi on your neighborhood? According the Obama website, to:

Help stop the attacks on the President before they start.

When another unfounded attack surfaces, we'll arm you with the truth so you can share the facts with your friends and family.

If you are new to the game, My.BarackObama.com provides a helpful dropdown menu to help you sort through what kind of "attack" your friends, neighbors, colleagues or other Americans might be up to.

Here are the 9 "Attack types" to be on the lookout for: 1) TV Interview, 2) Public Statement, 3) Forwarded Email, 4) Rumor, 5) TV Ad, 6) Video Ad, 7) Radio Ad, 8) Robo Call, 9) Website/Blog.

You can also attach a photo.

According to My.BarackObama.com, all of this is "paid for by Obama for America."

Democrat Senator: Tea Partiers "Don't Deserve Freedoms in Constitution"

By Rick Pearcey • March 26, 2011, 07:47 AM

At a pro-Planned Parenthood rally last Tuesday, Sen. Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey said: "Tea Party Republicans . . . don’t deserve the freedoms that are in the Constitution! But we’ll give them to them anyway."

Note to Lautenberg: The freedoms in the Constitution are not gifts of senators or of Democrats or of fascist organizations, such as Planned Parenthood, whose ongoing legacy of blood is one of greed and violence against "the least of these."

As the Declaration of Independence makes clear, Herr Lautenberg, these freedoms derive from the Creator, not the State, and it is on this basis that every single human being is respected as having been "created equal" and possessing "unalienable rights" to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

Herr Lautenberg, sir, you are a menace. You, Herr Senator, are the way of holocaust.

Shame! You betray a profound and dehumanizing hatred against the American ideal. We Americans, however, under God, shall overcome such hatred, indignity, and vain philosophy. Death to fascism!

By Rick Pearcey • January 20, 2011, 07:36 AM

Celebrating Diversity: Hitler's Christmas

By Rick Pearcey • December 24, 2010, 12:05 PM

In an article titled "Hitler's Christmas Party: Rare Photographs Capture Leading Nazis Celebrating in 1941," Allan Hall reports at the UK Daily Mail:

The pictures from December 18, which have only just come to light, show Hitler and his generals at a party for SS officer cadets in Munich.

But the Nazi Christmas was far from traditional.

Hitler believed religion had no place in his 1,000-year Reich, so he replaced the Christian figure of Saint Nicholas with the Norse god Odin and urged Germans to celebrate the season as a holiday of the ‘winter solstice’, rather than Christmas.

Out of sight at the top of the tree behind Hitler was a swastika instead of an angel, and many of the baubles carried runic symbols and iron cross motifs. The remarkable pictures were captured by Hugo Jaeger, one of the Fuhrer’s personal photographers.

And so this is diversity, John Lennon might sing. In all its pagan glory and anti-Judeo-Christian passion.

But note, according to this report, many Germans still called the December celebration "Christmas," indicating perhaps they employed a "living," evolving definition of that term, just as today we have Obama, the ACLU, and other secularists glorying in a "Constitution" that is also a "living," evolving document.

You almost begin to wonder who won that war.

HHS Demands: Obesity Rating for Every American

By Rick Pearcey • July 15, 2010, 10:43 AM

"New federal regulations issued this week stipulate that the electronic health records -- that all Americans are supposed to have by 2014 under the terms of the stimulus law that President Barack Obama signed last year -- must record not only the traditional measures of height and weight, but also the Body Mass Index: a measure of obesity," CNSNews.com reports.

What's particularly obese, obscenely so, is the unconstitutional federal empire growing fatter, more intrusive, oppressive, and totalistic with each snap of its jaws at American freedom and dignity.

The Liberal-Fascist Axis

By Rick Pearcey • May 29, 2010, 07:44 AM

Columnist and radio talk show host Ellis Washington writes at WorldNetDaily:

The Soviet Story was a revelatory "documentary on progressivism." In a revealing excerpt, George Bernard Shaw, the famous playwright and literary critic, was filmed in the early 1930s openly defending Hitler, mass murder and genocidal eugenics. The documentary explains liberals' love affair with fascism, saying: The left supported Hitler not because he deceived them. They knew Hitler would kill. He said he would. In fact, it was why they supported him.

The progressive movement has always been filled with socialist and liberal intellectuals who love to praise depraved tyrants like Mussolini, Lenin, Stalin and Hitler as men of action who, unlike the bureaucrats in our democracies, could get things done. Remember Stalin apologist Walter Duranty, a foreign correspondent for the New York Times Times who during the ghastly purges in the Ukraine in 1932-33, where over 7 million people were starved, Duranty heartlessly rationalized, "In order to make an omelet you have to break a few eggs."

Welcome to the U.S.S.A.

By Rick Pearcey • November 24, 2009, 10:11 AM

Cal Thomas writes:

Great horrors don't begin in gas chambers, killing fields, or forced famines. They begin when there is a philosophical shift in a nation's leadership about the value of human life. Novelist Walker Percy examined the underlying philosophy that led to the Holocaust and wrote: "In a word, certain consequences, perhaps unforeseen, follow upon the acceptance of the principle of the destruction of human life for what may appear to be the most admirable social reasons."

In our day, the consequences of government seizure of one-sixth of our economy and government's ability to decide how we run our lives (it won't stop with health care) are foreseen. They are just being ignored in our continued pursuit of personal peace, affluence and political power.

Opinion polls show a majority of Americans reject this health care "reform" bill. They think haste may waste them in the end. It doesn't matter. Like members of a cult, whatever the leader says, goes. The facts be damned. The crowd from the '60s will "seize the time," in the words of Black Panther radical Bobby Seale, thus sealing our doom as a unique and wonderful nation.

Welcome to the U.S.S.A., the United Socialist States of America.

Two comments:

1) This column deserves a broad readership. It would be super if Rush, Hannity, Levin, Laura, and others were to feature it and comment upon it on their radio shows. If you agree, contact them via Facebook, Twitter, etc., etc.

2) The day is late, but not over. And the battle for freedom is far from over. We can push back against the U.S.S.A. There is no reason a nation of intelligent, creative, and noble Americans created in the image of God has to sit by and watch barbarians impose tyranny upon this "sweet land of liberty." It's all in the Declaration of Independence, folks. Read it, pray it, act it.

Obama Rebuilding the Berlin Wall

By Rick Pearcey • November 7, 2009, 11:35 AM

"Brick by Brick," writes author and columnist Ellis Washington:

On Nov. 9, 1989, the torch of liberty was lit for more than a billion people (one-third of the world's population) when they started their path toward freedom with the fall of the Berlin Wall; a seemingly impregnable symbol of imprisonment that the murderous Soviet dictator, Josef Stalin, erected in 1961 to stop the exodus of East German citizens fleeing the slavery of communism for the freedom and liberty of democracy in West Germany.

Twenty years later, President Obama, as the anti-Reagan, is trying to rebuild the Berlin Wall brick by brick with fascist policies designed to undermine freedom of all Americas and the liberties of those people around the world yearning for a republic founded on the rule of law. Obama wants to place those same shackles Stalin put on the Soviet-bloc countries on America with his socialist health-care bill, which, if passed, would place government in our lives from cradle to grave.

Comcast Drops Halloween Programming for Reading of Healthcare Bill HR 1984

By Rick Pearcey • October 29, 2009, 03:25 PM

THUDDD! Here is the House healthcare bill, the stated purpose of which is to "provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce the growth in health care spending, and for other purposes."

Based on all we know about government "efficiency," virtually socialized anything, and federalistic hubris, the real-world results of this bill -- if ever passed and signed into law -- will be to impose (not "provide") unaffordable (not "affordable") unhealthy (not "healthy") lack of care (not "care") upon all Americans (whatever "American" means on Capitol Hill these days) and increase (not "reduce") the growth (finally, truth, but more accurately: "massive growth") of health care spending (and an ever-increasing federalized state), and for other purposes (such as creating a permanently dependant citizenry upon whom power elites may divide, conquer, and enslave, as did the masters of yesteryear).

As you will see upon opening this massive 1,990-page document, the first page leaves blank the HR number. Hence: HR____.

I suggest HR 1984, in honor of George Orwell's famed novel 1984 and its warnings about Newspeak and good, old-fashioned totalitarianism, updated for the Age of Obama. Call it: Tobamatarianism.

Fortunately, wonderfully subversive speech still exists, and we revolt against socialized medicine dictated by Washington-centric elites and their collaborators in media, on campus, in Hollywood, and in Russia, Cuba, and Venezuela.

And we revolt in the name of the Declaration of Independence (as written), the U.S. Constitution (as written), and the Bill of Rights (as written). And finally, we revolt on behalf of the Creator who is there (thank you Francis Schaeffer) and who endows human beings, created in his image, with "certain unalienable rights" and "that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."

Meanwhile, Comcast Cable has dropped all Halloween programming and decided to present shocker readings of this frightful bill day and night. Scientific polling from the Capitol Hill firm Vampires R Us comfirms expected viewership is scared to death. Order government-approved popcorn here. All profits go to Pelosi and Gore, Inc., and/or other worthy causes yet to be determined.

Extremists Fear Resistance

By Rick Pearcey • October 20, 2009, 11:32 AM

To prevent the rise of dictatorship, a group called "Oath Keepers" says it is willing to revolt, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Down a few paragraphs into the story is this: "In a July report titled Return of the Militias, the Alabama-based Southern Poverty Law Center singled out Oath Keepers as 'a particularly worrisome example of the Patriot revival.'"

Now, Oath Keepers is new to my radar screen. And while they may be "worrisome" to the Southern Poverty Law Center, let me suggest one thing:

A willingness to revolt against un-Constitutional, anti-Declarational tryanny that seeks to elevate the state above the Creator who endows humanity with "certain unalienable rights" is at the heart of the American mainstream.

Our nation was birthed in opposition to such hubris, audacity, and tyranny. We spilled blood of family and friend against the inhumanity of slavery in the War Between the States. And the 20th century is a chronicle of American efforts in blood and treasure to overcome the forces of secular statism in Fascist Europe and Communism in the USSR. No perfection, but a willingness to pay a price in defense of freedom.

So who, really, are the "extremists"? Who really is outside of the American mainstream?

Clearly, the extremists are not those who resist. Or who are willing to rebel.

Rather, the extremists are those who coward themselves before tyranny, who bow before raw power, who sellout before secular power-mongers, and who expect a dignified people created in the image of God to equally supine themselves as well.

As surely as there is an America Declared in liberty and Constituted under God, that's not going to happen.

This is not to endorse an organization. It is to endorse who we are as Americans, and who we are as free creations of God with "certain unalienable rights."

This should be of little concern to anyone. Besides tyrants and tyrant-wannabes, that is.

Read the story in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Nazism and Socialized Medicine

By Rick Pearcey • October 5, 2009, 08:57 AM

Joseph Farah writes at WorldNetDaily:

Don't you dare point out in polite company that socialized medicine in Germany provided the mechanism for the Holocaust.

Don't do it.

Even though it's undeniably true from a historical standpoint, Barack Obama, the Democratic Party and their accomplices in the Big Media will vilify you, ridicule you and accuse you of minimizing the tragedy of the Holocaust.

But I don't really care if they play that card with me. They've already played the race card. They've already played the Nazi card. They've already played the "extremist" card. Consider me inoculated from the venomous poison of these vipers.

Obama Czar Seeks "Chilling Effect" on Internet

By Rick Pearcey • October 2, 2009, 06:11 AM

Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein's new book, titled Rumors: How Falsehoods Spread, Why We Believe Them, and What Can Be Done, "delivers a warning to those who would spread false rumors about Barack Obama," writes Lee Cary at American Thinker.

Cary quotes the czar, page 88:

Some kind of chilling effect on damaging rumors is exceedingly important -- not only to protect people against negligence, cruelty, and unjustified damage to their reputations, but also to ensure the proper functioning of democracy itself.

"Of course," Cary observes and as all czars and protectors of democracy have always known, "creating a 'chilling effect' isn't censorship."

Nor, one suspects we are to believe, is such a "chilling effect" a denial of the Constitution, the 1st Amendment, or an unalienable right endowed upon all people by our true Creator (which is not the federal state).

In fact, to suggest censorship, to imply such a thing, or to charge such a thing -- against a patriotic protector of Democracy, no less -- why, that may well be an evil rumor spread on the internet. About which something ought to be done.

In the world of czars, Sunsteins, and Obamas, a visit from the Ministry of Love and Community Organized for the Protection of Democracy and Decency might be in order.

It's 3 a.m. What's that knock on the door?

Oh. They're just here to collect the fine and ensure the retractions are all in order. For a minute there, I was worried.

Home Invasions Under Obamacare

By Rick Pearcey • August 18, 2009, 11:41 AM

"A parental-rights advocate is concerned that parental authority could be usurped under Obama's healthcare plan," reports OneNewsNow.

"Mike Farris with ParentalRights.org is drawing attention to Title IX, Subpart 3, section 440, on page 837 of Obama's healthcare plan (HR 3200). That section deals with the creation of a government bureaucracy that would establish and expand 'programs providing voluntary home visitation for families with young children and families expecting children.'

"Under the provision, the government would instruct parents on age-appropriate child development in 'cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor skills.' It would also provide parents with 'modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices.'"

Says Farris: "The government simply has no business, no expertise, and no constitutional authority to come in and teach subjective values to families. They are so far out of their bailiwick. . . . This is one of the most serious intrusions into families."

Such an intrusive government would be, of course, a rogue government. Our Constitutional system of government, by way of contrast, is founded upon objective information and objective moral norms rooted in a real and living Creator who gives an adequate basis for human dignity, human freedom, unalienable rights, and civil society.

This is yet another reason to be thankful for the work done by the Founding Fathers ca. 1776. And it helps awaken us to the basis for the kind of real reform needed for real progress in the life, thought, and government of contemporary America.

Who Most Resembles the Nazis?

By Rick Pearcey • August 17, 2009, 11:02 AM

Obama -- or his political, moral, and spiritual opponents?

Here's a hint: The fascist attack on freedom in America today does not issue from those who embrace "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

Instead, as Joseph Farah explains:

American liberty faces very serious challenges from the country's own leadership -- not from citizens who dissent against those policies. That's what happened in Weimar, Germany, too.

To ignore history would be to commit one of the same sins that was committed in the 1930s -- and every time totalitarianism has reared its ugly head before or since.

The Strategic Rationale for Obliterating Obamacare

By Rick Pearcey • August 17, 2009, 09:46 AM

Andie Brownlow does not accept the premise that the healthcare bill (HR 3200) is "needed or even constitutional."

This is why, as she writes at American Thinker

The health care bill must be defeated and not negotiated.

Congress will offer us everything we want and more, so long as a bill for socialized health care gets signed into law.

There are no sacred cows in HR 3200; the only thing that matters to progressive elites is the precedent of its passage.

They will eventually, patonizingly capitulate to our demands to change the bill.

We will have been taken as fools who bought snake oil because we won the haggle over price.

Our Constitution is very clear on a limited federal government.

Providing healthcare and other social services on a federal level are not what our founders intended.

In fact, they all spoke at great length about avoiding the tyranny of oppressively large government, emphasizing freedom & limitations on federal government.

None Dare Call It Totalitarianism

By Rick Pearcey • August 12, 2009, 10:53 AM

"I'm not going to make the case that America under Barack Obama and the Democratic Congress has become a totalitarian police state," writes Joseph Farah at WorldNetDaily. "But, I will make the case that Washington is leading us in that direction."

Outlaw Josey Wales on Healthcare vs. Deathcare

By Rick Pearcey • August 12, 2009, 08:25 AM

Why the outrage expressed at healthcare townhall meetings across America?

Among the many legitimate reasons may be the humane desire to not allow liberal statists the governmental power to make "healthcare" decisions that could kill the patients.

Peter Ferrara writes at American Spectator:

An example of the government health care rationing that President Obama and the Democrats have in mind comes from Oregon, a state long run by like-minded ultraliberal Democrats.

Randy Stroup, a 53-year-old Oregon resident suffering from prostate cancer, was covered by the state's public option government health plan, the Oregon Health Plan.

But the state plan sent him a letter refusing to pay for his cancer treatment. It offered to pay for physician assisted suicide instead.

A 64-year-old woman with breast cancer received a similar letter. She is dead now.

Americans don't want to take this health care fascism nationwide.

In The Outlaw Josey Wales, the Clint Eastwood character tells a bounty hunter, "Dying ain't no way to make a living."

Well, it ain't no way to make "healthcare," either. Most regular people have figured this out.

Thugs in the Night: Democratic Healthcare Meltdown Continues -- Video

By Rick Pearcey • August 11, 2009, 12:14 PM

This column by Connie Hair at Human Events contains a riveting Fox News interview with Mike Sola, the father of a son with cerebal palsy. At a townhall meeting, Sola challenged Michigan Democrat Rep. John Dingell, Sola's putative representative in Congress.

During the interview with Fox, Sola says that, "after the [townhall] incident was aired on television, we had a visit that night. A message was sent to my family."

Any father can appreciate Sola's message in reply: "I will use every means every means available to me, lethal force if necessary, to protect Scott and my wife," Sola promised. "Your message has been received."

But politicians and their thugs are intruding not just upon our families "at night," as it were, but upon our nation -- in broad daylight -- in a whole range of un-Constitutional usurpations of power and authority, represented of late by the Obama administration. Republicans, too, have much, much to answer for.

What is needed are Americans -- father, mothers, brothers, sisters -- willing to take a Constitutional and Declarational broom to clean out this mess. In the realm of government and politics, that's the real crisis. That's the real cancer choking off freedom and dignity in America.

Healthcare isn't the crisis, "Obamaism" is. Washington-centrism is. State idolatry is. And it's an inhumane idolatry no matter how much you gussy it up with god-talk or social-talk or press releases from the Ministry of Love.

This is much more to the point of what we're seeing at these townhall meetings. If America is to survive as America, then let us work, hope, and pray that what we are witnessing is the beginning of the beginning of the end of D.C. Tyranny and the regressiveness for which it stands.

Pelosi and Hoyer: "Un-American" Attacks Can't Derail Healthcare Debate

By Rick Pearcey • August 10, 2009, 03:17 PM

From a column at USAToday, published under their names, the following:

It is now evident that an ugly campaign is underway not merely to misrepresent the health insurance reform legislation, but to disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue. These tactics have included hanging in effigy one Democratic member of Congress in Maryland and protesters holding a sign displaying a tombstone with the name of another congressman in Texas, where protesters also shouted "Just say no!" drowning out those who wanted to hold a substantive discussion. . . .

These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views -- but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.

Here's the entire column.

The hubris of those perched atop Washington machine is a sight to behold. This is the tyranny against which we stand, a resistance rooted in the Declaration, the Constitution, and the Judeo-Christian worldview. The credibility of this breed erodes day by day.

America Rising Against Tyranny

By Rick Pearcey • August 10, 2009, 09:14 AM

A defiant Craig Smith writes:

Recent media coverage of Americans speaking up with their concerns about the proposed health care legislation finally removes any doubt that those on the hard Left side of the Democratic aisle hate anything that remotely resembles traditional America.

When Cindy Sheehan and Medea Benjamin protested the Bush administration they were heralded as brave Americans who loved their country enough to speak truth to power. They were treated to a level of favorable coverage like we have never seen -- coverage normally reserved for Mother Teresa or Rosa Parks.

But let 200, 300 hard-working, play-by-the-rules, taxpaying, law-abiding citizens voice their opinions about a government that has a deaf ear to the people and we hear words like "Nazis," "paid plants," "GOP operatives," "right-wing wackos" and worse spewing from the mouths of Democratic leadership in Congress.

The ease in which they use such terms without any critical analysis by the press is very revealing.

Let's be clear: What is being attack by the current regime and its allies in the collaborationist press is not just a vague America of "yesteryear," "traditional America," the "America we grew up with," or the "America that you and I love."

What is hated and what is being attacked are the very foundations of human liberty: The Declaration of Independence, as written; the U.S. Constitution (including the Bill of Rights), as written; and the Judeo-Christian philosophy of life, rooted and verified in history, which alone gives a consistent and adequate basis for human dignity and liberty across the whole of life, including poltical life.

On this sure and sacred basis, the American people have a duty, an obligation, and a calling, under God, to resist, to rise up, and to cast out the intruder in our midst. And to move forward on the basis of those timeless emancipatory prescriptions of liberty famously celebrated every July 4.

SS Watch: Welcome to Gestapo-Care

By Rick Pearcey • August 6, 2009, 09:28 AM

Kevin McCullough writes:

So what has the White House told supporters to do when you run across those who spread "disinformation" about the new attempt by the Obama administration to install the anti-competitive practices of a "public option" into a federalized universal health care initiative?

Report them. . . .

Pardon me for asking such an obvious question, but what concern is it to the President or his administration if private citizens have disagreements, discussions, and dissections of his proposed take over of the health care industry?

Last I checked I had the constitutional right to do so.

But now he wishes to turn one citizen against another?

What does this mean? It means the Obama regime is taking America into dangerous waters.

It suggests the ever-compassionate White House "has vays of making us healthy," just in case we Americans don't know what's good for us.

But as does a healthy body, even so a healthy body politic will repel this intrusion into our midst.

It's what a free people, under God, do. It's what a free people, under God, have done before. And it's what we, under God, must do again, if we are to express that stewardship of freedom bequeathed upon humanity by the Creator himself.

So what is the source of our health, our strength, our resistance? This: The Declaration of Independence as written, the Constitution as written, and the Judeo-Christian framework as written and verified rationally, logically, and in history.

The Obama regime -- and the secular statist vision for which it stands -- rejects all of these. Tyranny is the logical and existential end-product of this rejection.

In contrast, Americans for a humane patriotism accept them, embrace them, live them. For in them we find the "blessings of liberty," in community not with the false idol of a federal state or a preening president, but with our true Creator.

CNN Video: "Death of Neda" Becomes Symbol of Iranian Protests

By Rick Pearcey • June 22, 2009, 10:08 AM

This chilling video from Iran demonstrates something about the price of freedom, something about the high personal cost of standing up to government tyranny.

Our Founders understood something about this. Do we here at home in the U.S.?

Or have secularized Americans and "Christian" presidents such as Barack Hussein Obama forgotten about unalienable rights endowed by the Creator? Those real human rights, of course, violate the "separation of church and state" written into the "living" U.S. Constitution by the likes of the ACLU.

If that rewrite of history and the Constitution stands, then it may be Tehran today, but America tomorrow, for ideas have consequences. And bad ideas can have evil consequences.

If we despise the Founding Vision -- as elites and secularists preach and teach in Washington, Hollywood, Media, and academia -- one wonders on what basis American individuals and families can really hope to maintain their freedom and dignity.

Should Christians Resist Tyranny?

By Rick Pearcey • May 28, 2009, 09:57 AM

"Perhaps there is no better time than now to revisit this issue -- as we approach America's Independence Day and our nation moves ever closer to tyranny, this time directed not from London but from our own nation's capital."

"Patriot Pastors" Challenged to Crush "Hate Crimes" Bill

By Rick Pearcey • May 20, 2009, 09:59 AM

Farah: Obama Wants Civil Dialogue Over Murder of Unborn Humans

By Rick Pearcey • May 18, 2009, 07:48 AM

Go ahead. Make Nice. But Notre Dame party-spoiler Joseph Farah of WND chooses not to play by Obama's pathetic, inhumane, and bloody rules:

If I were presiding over a public policy that called for the murder of unborn babies for any reason or no reason at all, that provided mandatory public funding of those procedures both domestically and in foreign countries, that required doctors and nurses to perform abortions even if they were conscientiously opposed, that permitted experimentations on living human embryos, that promoted even partial-birth abortions outside the womb and that called for the extermination of infants who somehow defied all the odds and managed to survive efforts to kill them before birth, I guess I would want to frame the debate in such a way as to diminish the hideous monstrousness of my morally indefensible position.

He doesn't really want people who recognize what abortion is to approach the debate with "open hearts." He wants us to harden our hearts.

Obama OKs Killing Unborn in Notre Dame Speech

By Rick Pearcey • May 18, 2009, 06:47 AM

"After receiving an honorary doctorate in law at the University of Notre Dame’s graduation ceremony yesterday, President Barack Obama delivered a speech to the school's graduating seniors that sought to legitimize his position in favor of the legal killing of unborn children," reports Terry Jeffrey at CNSNews.com.

"Obama told the graduates of the nation’s most well-known Catholic university that abortion 'has both moral and spiritual dimensions' -- although he did not explain why he had made this conclusion -- and made it quite clear that, even so, he has no intention of moving from his position that it ought to be legal for a pregnant mother to have a doctor kill her unborn child for literally any reason at any stage of pregnancy."

Barack Obama: The Quintessential Liberal Fascist

By Rick Pearcey • May 12, 2009, 08:05 AM

"While the left has been indulging and fostering the 'Bush Is Hitler' meme, they have just put a genuine ideological fascist heir in the White House," writes Kyle-Anne Shiver at American Thinker.

"There is an inherent danger in making scurrilous comparisons (as were perpretated unceasingly against George W. Bush), but there seem to be some very worrisome signs in the rise of Barack Obama that we Americans would be foolish to ignore."

Episcopalian High Priestess: "Abortion Is a Blessing!"

By Rick Pearcey • May 8, 2009, 08:13 AM

"The Rev. Katherine Ragsdale will soon become the first female president of Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts," writes Mark Tooley at American Spectator.

In addition to a sermon in which the "openly lesbian" (what bravery!) Ms. Ragsdale exclaimed the "blessing" derived from one class of humanity being able to destroy another class of humanity, she has on occasion "boasted" before the congressional gods of the Federal Empire "of chauffeuring a 15-year-old girl to get an abortion and vowed to do so again, no matter the law, because the 'vows' of her ordination supposedly require it," says Tooley.

PR is key when advocating such inhumanity out of accord with real Christianity and the American founding. "However provocative Ragdale's pronouncements often are," Tooley writes, "she is in demeanor calm and polished and seemingly disciplined."

In short: No sudden moves, "seemingly." Unless, you're a "doctor" at work in an aborcentration center on a mission from god. That's where Ms. Ragsdale's "blessings" are "safe, rare, and legal" -- unless you happen to be on the wrong end of the safety. "No sudden moves" is absolutey vital here: Baring teeth too soon, or in public, may scare the horses.

Can Obama Be Called an Economic Fascist?

By Rick Pearcey • May 5, 2009, 09:01 AM

Jerry Doyle writes at Human Events:

It is dangerous in this day and age to use the word “fascism” lightly. Liberals sling around the term “fascism” without regard to its meeting -- for the left, “fascism” applies to everything from religious social perspectives to conservative tax cut prescriptions. But economic fascism has a precise, defined meaning. And Barack Obama’s economic policy fulfills that meaning in every conceivable way.

Economic fascism can be defined as government control over the four P’s: Product, Price, Profit Margin, and People. When the government controls the product created by the market, when it controls the price structure for product and company securities, when it controls how much profit particular companies can make, and when it controls the people who are hired and fired, economic freedom has been banished, and economic fascism reigns supreme.

And economic fascism reigns supreme in Barack Obama’s America. Just look at the recent government handling of Chrysler. In a series of press conferences this week announcing Chrysler’s bankruptcy, Obama hit on all of the four P’s.

What About Obama, Mussolini, and the Unmentionable Herr Hitler?

By Rick Pearcey • April 30, 2009, 09:53 AM

Writing in American Spectator, Quin Hillyer defends the proposition that "Barack Obama's economic policies (and others) . . . are straight out of the Mussolini playbook." Hillyer had compared the economics of Musso and Obama in an April 2 column.

Hillyer sees a difference between fascism and Nazism. This may be a distinction lost on preborn citizens in a land ruled by a relativistic Washington-centric elite led by a Socialist president. Mr. Obama accepts class warfare hatreds but rejects the concept and practice of unalienable rights rooted in a knowable Creator who expects human beings to apply truth across the whole of life, including public life, including political life, including government life.

The PR in support of aborcentration centers suggests they are more cool than concentration camps, but the mentality seems quite similar. The secular state has delegated to pregnant women (instead of SS camp guards) the authority to decide who lives and who dies among a certain class of humanity (preborn American citizens). Millions of human beings have been slaughtered on the basis of this ugly expression of "progressive" and inhumane class warfare.

The real-world result of "choice" is a land awash in blood ("Abortion Macht Frei!"). Blood money fills the coffers and war chests of the secularists. Who needs the SS and railroad tracks when you have Planned Parenthood, single-minded Democrats, and double-minded Republicans?

What's crucial is not the diversity but the unity that describes Obama, Mussolini, and Hitler. All three reject the foundational, liberating, protective, and humane concept of unalienable rights endowed by an existing, knowable Creator in whose image every single human being is created and therefore has value and signficance.

All three accept instead the notion of a relativistic, arbitrary, secular but "spiritual" state as the center of gravity and salvation for government and society.

There may be differences in personality, historic circumstances, skin color, and how one shines one's shoes. But the crucial point is the in-principle triumph of tyranny over liberty. It is the difference between the tyranny of "civil liberties" controlled and dispensed by an idolatrous federal establishment -- and the authentic liberty afforded by human rights endowed by our true Creator upon all people.

In the playbook of tyranny are well-deserved chapters on Hitler and Mussolini. Should you ever find a U.S. president in there, be sure of this: He's not an American, even if he was born in Hawaii. As sunlight is to vampires, so is adherence to the Declaration of Independence to all tryants, statists, and political messiahs with wonderful plans for our lives.

The Founding Vision is the philosophic center of the American experiment. That's what gathers together the children of liberty and excludes the extremist offspring of tyranny. Go ask George, John, and Tom. They pledged their sacred honor, which according to the ACLU, is no longer constitutional.

Couric Ceremony Brownshirts Handcuff Filmmaker

By Rick Pearcey • April 17, 2009, 10:25 AM

Quin Hillyer writes:

Every "media freedom" outlet in the country should be up in arms about this, helping John Ziegler pay for a lawsuit, shouting from the rooftops against this blatant and disquieting and downright frightening abridgement of the First Amendment.

Here's video of fascism in action

Tyranny in America, both soft and hard (ask the dead babies about it), must be resisted and overcome. This is the task of every American who remembers who we are.

Who are we? We are not compliant "citizens" with a vague set of "values" waiting for Obama, the establishment, and disdainful secular elites to issue government-approved marching orders for what we get to do tomorrow.

Who are we? We are human beings created in the image of God and endowed by our creator with unalienable rights that no journalist, no security guard, no bureaucrat, no politician, and no White House authoritarian has the authority to take away. We-the-free -- and not the fascist slave-masters -- run this country.

We are here to cause tyrants to tremble. Today, tomorrow, as soon as possible, there should be Freedom Protests against any form of tyranny imposed upon the mind of man.

Today, tomorrow, as soon as possible, there should be protests for unalienable rights and Declaration Freedoms at USC (where Ziegler was cuffed), media outlets, and any place of authoritarianism in America that dares participate in the on-going ideological coup against the foundations and vision of the United States of America.

Obama and his enablers in the Federal Empire, the Democratic Party, squishy Republicans, the socialists in media and all the rest may not like it, but the Spirit of 1776 lives. For that which is rooted in verifiable truth from our Creator never passes away, never dies, and is always a solid support for those ready to "overcome evil with good." Just like the No. 1 book hated by all tyrants -- The Bible -- says (Rom. 12:21).

Wednesday was T-Day. Today is T-Day plus 2. Folks, we're going to Berlin to empty out the bunker.

How to Argue Like a Fascist

By Rick Pearcey • April 7, 2009, 09:37 AM

As demonstrated by this unfortunate comment on American Fascism: Obama and Mussolini (a Pro-Existence post which was commented upon yesterday in a blog at the Village Voice):

Whew . . . are you as ignorant as you sound? Jeebus . . . I want to party with you cowboy! I bet the chicks dig that ignorant, righteous schtick. What color is the sky in your world? No, seriously . . . because you obviously aren't in the real world. You're in a world full of hate, ignorance, intolerance, fear, and greed. I pity you.

If one lacks reason and evidence to support your case, you pound the table, devolve into power, attack the person, and escape from reason.

The writer of the above blocked-quote comment is created in the image of God and therefore better than the inhumane approach that is expressed in the content of what he or she writes.

The Judeo-Christian worldview, in contrast to fascism and this writer's comment, respects reason and the individual, as seen here in "Christmas Spirit in Space and Time."

A recent helpful book that provides tools for reasonable and respectful dialogue is Tactics, by Greg Koukl.

Obama: Islam Has Shaped the USA

By Rick Pearcey • April 7, 2009, 07:46 AM

Robert Spencer at Frontpage observes and comments upon this from Mr. Obama:

"We will convey," said Barack Obama to the Turkish Parliament Monday, "our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world -- including my own country." (emphasis added)

Would Mr. Obama kindly explain just how Islam shaped the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution?

While we're at it, perhaps a reporter from the one or two remaining pro-statist hardcopy newspapers can ask Mr. Obama something like this: Sir, what is the evidence for your proposition?

Think of it, Mr. Reporter, as your good deed for the day. The Turks, among others, may be confused.

Fascism Watch: Village Voice and Pro-Existence

By Rick Pearcey • April 6, 2009, 08:06 AM

From "How RightBloggers Made Fascist the New Socialist," by Roy Edroso:

So some of the more scholarly rightbloggers conduct seminars to explain Obamafascism. "When the government controls the economy without actually taking ownership of the means of production, it is still very much socialism: it is fascist socialism," explained The Real Revo. "GM is Krupp is AIG is Messerschmidt." Also: "Liberals have long believed that authoritarian government is fine as long as 'representatives of the people' -- meaning 'liberals'--are in charge. We are witnessing nothing less than the the germination latest mutation of fascism adapted for a new age."

Pro-Existence referred to "Abortofascism" and explicated, "the liberal secular statist operates as a relativist who looks to the Federal Empire as the supreme (but pretended) absolute, an idol of raw 'choice' collectivizing a raw will to power set loose and affirmed by worshippers of this idol in media, on campus, in Hollywood, government, and activist groups." Oh, well, when you put it that way...

Edroso concludes:

"Fascist" is a good, strong scare-word. It has the advantage of novelty. And it's not as if it has to mean anything.

When that flames out, they can take "Nazi" out of the test lab and start using it as an alternate. That would be something of a nuclear option, but it only has to last them until the next election.

Is that all this is, fascism as a scare word? That would be dishonest and a waste of time. I'd much rather join my friend Camus on the soccer pitch.

Or might Barack Obama and his defenders prefer that free-thinking Americans forget the past (just as the statists of our era have forgotten the Declaration and Constitution), forget the "change" of 1930s and '40s Europe, lest the lessons of history apply all too readily and appropriately to present regimes and thoughtforms?

These lessons apply to Republicans as well: Your embrace of statism and profound lack of seriousness vis-a-via the Founding Vision and Mission Statement of the United States is a huge part of the problem.

By the way, we really are pro-existence, which means we are for the individual, the family, reason, the arts, creativity, rebellion against evil and inauthenticity, and any form of tryanny, including "religious" tyranny, "over the mind of man," as Jefferson put it.

This humane approach does not hang in mid-air, as does so much of Hollywood, academia, and politics today. Rather, it is a grounded and rooted liberty we enjoy as human beings endowed by a knowable and verifiable Creator with certain unalienable rights. And on that basis rooted in fact and information, we reserve the right to a critical distance against politics so-called left, right, or center.

Books: The Nazis Hated the Christians

By Rick Pearcey • April 4, 2009, 10:15 AM

Herbert E. Meyer writes in American Thinker on The Swastika Against the Cross, by Bruce Walker:

In The Swastika Against the Cross, Bruce Walker skillfully pulls together a huge amount of evidence to illuminate the great lesson of the twentieth century: Crazy, vicious people sometimes get political power, and when they tell you what they're going to do with that power -- believe them.  Today, as North Korea fuels that missile on its launch pad and as the lunatics in Iran build nuclear bombs, it's a lesson we need to learn -- fast.

Yes, the Nazis hated Christians and Christianity, perhaps just as much as do liberal statists today throwing stones from entrenched positions in Hollywood, academia, media, and Washington, D.C.

Thus the secularist war against the Creator, the smooth lip service given to the Declaration, and the audacious manipulation of the Constitution. Thus abortofascism, homofascism, and Washington-centric fascism, etc., etc. -- all tentacles of tyranny wrapping themselves around "the mind of man" and around the lives of a people endowed by our true Creator with unalienable rights, a free people in a land of slavery who even now are stirring up to reclaim their birthright under God.

We resist, even if tyranny is cool again

American Fascism: Obama and Mussolini

From Quin Hillyer at American Spectator:

All of this economic intervention and government expansion, all of this use of collectivist language and collectivist goals, combined with the first big steps towards Obama's goal of "a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" as the American military, is straight out of Mussolini's playbook.

Then you combine it with the Obamanation of a growing, Il Duce-like cult of the leader. The stadium speeches in front of a Greek emperor's columns. The permanent campaign, the deliberate ubiquity. The "public service" radio ads with the president himself urging national service upon us. The iconic imagery on campaign materials. The millennial language about his own election as the moment when seas stopped rising and Earth started healing and about the need to "save the planet." The traveling abroad with an official entourage of 500 people (and a limo nicknamed "The Beast"). The fawning media. The simplistic slogans chanted over and over. . . .

Hillyer cautions, however, seeing a great distance between Obama and Nazism:

To be clear, none of this is to even come close to equating the Obama administration with Nazism. The conflation of Nazism with fascism is a gross misunderstanding of history; the original fascism and Nazism are entirely different breeds of vipers, with the latter being far more deadly.

But however appreciated, this analysis of the difference between national socialism and Obama socialism may not hold up. Those who think what happened in Germany, the land of my birth, cannot happen here, may need to think again.

We already have among us the "hard tyranny" of millions of innocent unborn American citizens dead because of an inhumane secular statist ideology that says one class of humanity (pregnant women) has the right to destroy another class of humanity (unborn human beings). Talk about division and class struggle!

Instead of Berlin delegating to concentration camps guards the power to decide who lives and who dies, we have Washington delegating to women the power to decide who lives and who dies. And we have legal but immoral aborcentration centers across the land to clean up the slaughter and protect our sensibilities. But it's all good because we drive ourselves and our unborn children to the "camps." You don't even need the trains to run on time.

In principle it seems we are operating on the basis of raw power, allowing in practice that which a particular political dynamic can get away with at a particular moment in history. Abortofascism is just one issue. One could also look at attacks on the family, church, Christianity, freedom of speech and thought, and so on.

The liberal secular statist operates as a relativist who looks to the Federal Empire as the supreme (but pretended) absolute, an idol of raw "choice" collectivizing a raw will to power set loose and affirmed by worshippers of this idol in media, on campus, in Hollywood, government, and activist groups.

The Constitution is "alive" but dead, the Bill of Rights subject to the poll of the week, and there is little but the weak memory of freedom under God that remains in a nation once brave. That is the secular liberal statist worldview, and it appears to be exemplied by the rise of community organizer Barack Obama.

American fascism -- whether the stormtroopers wear black shirts or brown shirts -- must fall, in spirit and in fact, if America the free is to continue in fidelity as a nation under God, our true Creator, as set forth in the Declaration of Independence and as protected by the real U.S. Constitution. No one who appreciates the "blessings of liberty" will stand by and watch American fascism devour the American experiment in human freedom and dignity under God. There is much work to be done.

Obamalini's Coup D'etat

By Rick Pearcey • March 31, 2009, 07:13 AM

WND's Joseph Farah knows a dictator when he sees one. He writes:

If Obama can fire the head of a troubled, but legendary corporation like GM and then order its business plan to be rewritten according to his wishes, presidential power has become unlimited.

We no longer live in the United States of America that is guided by a Constitution based on the limited power of government. . . .

There's a name for this kind of government direction of what have traditionally been private corporations. It's called "fascism." Look it up.

This is what Mussolini did. It's what Hitler did with what had been a "private sector" in Germany.

We live in a tyranny, and we're all subject to the whims of one man.

Yesterday, in discussing Herr Obama and Aborcentration Centers in America, I called for not just that the First Fascist be disinvited from speaking at Notre Dame but also from the presidency of the United States.

"Yes he was elected, but he now imposes tyranny. He now wars against the American experiment in liberty under God."

We do not have to wait for the next election in 2010 to begin showing this man and his inhumane, anti-American, anti-Creator program the door. Herr Obama, consider yourself fired.

Horowitz: Beware Obama Derangement Syndrome

By Rick Pearcey • March 30, 2009, 06:34 AM

"I have been watching an interesting phenomenon on the Right, which is beginning to cause me concern," writes David Horowitz at Frontpage.

"I am referring to the over-the-top hysteria in response to the first months in office of our new president, which distinctly reminds me of the 'Bush Is Hitler' crowd on the Left."

Is Horowitz onto something? Naive? Your thoughts?

If This Be Treason, Make the Most of It

By Rick Pearcey • March 16, 2009, 05:00 AM

That's what the "Young Patrick Henry" would do. This from Quin Hillyer at AmSpec:

No, not treason against this wonderful nation. But this column may sound suspiciously like treason against the cult of Obama, and against his hagiographers in the establishment media, and against the very idea that this president actually loves this nation's liberal, republican, constitutional order. Consider this also to be treason against the myth that our president is a man of deep, or even average, integrity.

Barack Obama is a radical's radical and a man whose ego vastly outstrips his prior accomplishments. He is dangerous, and after just seven weeks he already is leading this country into disaster. . . .

Lovers of freedom and dignity must understand:

President Barack Obama doesn't want to "change" some policies; he wants to change America itself. And he wants to do it on a fast track before the American public fully catches on to him. He knows that some changes, once implemented, are almost impossible to undo.

Rhetorically, organizationally, financially, and politically, he must be stopped. Must.

And if this be treason, make the most of it.

"I Pledge Allegiance to Obama"?

By Rick Pearcey • March 16, 2009, 04:49 AM

Sweetness and Light has noticed "Obama's (Highly Creepy) 'Pledge Project'," complete with training videos and a commitment to "I'm asking you to believe."

Says S&L:

Anyone who is a student of totalitarian regimes, especially Nazi Germany, should recognize this tactic. Mr. Obama has organized his own cadre of Brown Shirts (or, if you prefer, Red Shirts) to agitate for his agenda.

Mr. Alinsky would be proud. And rightly so. For this is simply the continuation of Mr. Obama’s perpetual campaign. A campaign, as we noted at the time, that was modeled on Saul Alinsky’s organizing principles.

Of course, Alinsky, had modeled his methods on the great communist and/or fascist agitators of the past. Hence, the unsettling resemblance to Soviet-style and Nazi Germany agit-prop.

If you think audacious initiatives such as this violate the mission statement of the the United States of America, you're right. "Pledge Projects" or any move that smacks of loyalty oaths to individual leaders, or to a secularistic Washington-centrism for that matter, have nothing to do with the liberating unity and diversity under our true and knowable Creator currently banished by the "faith" agenda of the paternalistic power establishment. The secular state is not God, and Barack Obama is not his prophet.

"Another polarizing move from Barack Obama," writes Thomas Lifson. "His permanent campaign is organizing a political organization loyal to him, bound by a pledge, outside the government and existing party apparatus. The historical precedents are ominous."

Hat Tip: American Thinker.

Abortofascism and Free-Market Homicide

By Rick Pearcey • December 3, 2008, 08:53 AM

In a column titled "Atheism and Child Murder," Dinesh D'Souza comments on his recent debate with Princeton ethicist and atheist Peter Singer:

Some of Singer's critics call him a Nazi and compare his proposals to Hitler's schemes for eliminating the unwanted, the unfit and the disabled. But as I note in the debate, Singer is no Hitler. He doesn't want state-sponsored killings. Rather, he wants the decision to kill to be made by you and me. Instead of government-conducted genocide, Singer favors free-market homicide.

Singer as an individual may or may not approve "state-sponsored killings," but his worldview nevertheless demands obedience. This is what worldviews qua worldviews do as presumed guides to living in the real world.

What counts here, in Singer's case, are not the desires of a particular professor, but rather the imperative mobilized by atheistic presuppositions that give rise to a materialistic and inhumane philosophy of life.

People desire many things, but the actual direction of their lives and of their cultures is set in many ways by directives consistent with their philosophy of life, their worldview.

A denial of the dignity of Man and the sacredness of the individual pushes people downstream into currents of inhumanity that allow no adequate ethical opposition to radical dehumanization, up to and including concentration camps and abortion chambers.

Even "nice" people, regular folk, can be caught up in this dynamic if they allow others to do their thinking and evaluating for them.

You can be a materialist even if you're a hippie and have only one quarter in your pocket (as Francis Schaeffer observed on occasion). In similar fashion, you can be a fascist and have only one baby, one person, one slave, one Jew in your power, your pocket, at your mercy, in your womb, subject to your autonomous choice.

State machinery may or may not be involved in Singer's current thinking or at a particular moment in history. But this doesn't get us out of the woods.

For if the naked secular state is the de facto ultimate political power (because God does not exist, and the impersonal cosmos is indifferent), then even the putatively "empowered" individual really functions more as something akin to an NGE (nongovernmental entity), enacting that which the state allows and the Darwinian struggle for existence compels, excuses, and forgives.

This is a delegated fascism -- from the secular state to the secularized individual and his or her own personal will-to-power. "Freedom" and "empowerment" become PR symbols to help grown-ups feel better about imposing their values on pre- and post-natal children. This scheme works best if the grown-ups remain unaware of their subservience to the state establishment.

It is important to not be confused or distracted by the struggle between the fascism of the one (naked, personal choice and the individual will-to-power) and the fascism of the many (naked, political choice and the raw communal will-to-power).

One need not reduce Singer to Hitler to recognize Naziesque applications that emerge naturally and logically from an inhumane, Singeresque worldview. We are condemned to repeat the past if we ignore its dangerous presuppositions.

Regarding "Change" -- Liberals Drink Deeply From Fascist Well, Says Reviewer

By Rick Pearcey • November 17, 2008, 02:08 PM

Is a Sarah Palin a fascist? That might fit the template in certain political circles today, but additional information may require second thoughts among nuanced observers.

For one thing, it is progressive champion H.G. Wells who had more than a little to do with letting the phrase liberal fascism out of its cage, writes Prof. Angus Menuge in a just-published review of Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg.

Here are a few points from the Menuge review, which appears in The Pearcey Report. Among others, fans of Obama, Hillary, Gore, and big government conservatism may want to take note.

* For Obama fans: Something at work in mainstream culture “makes it easy for Barack Obama to champion a new New Deal (mentioned 9 times in his book The Audacity of Hope) as the solution to our economic woes, without anyone recalling the connections between Roosevelt’s and Hitler’s ‘new deal’ (122, 130-131) and the more sinister sides of Roosevelt’s authoritarian statism.”

* For Hillary fans suspicious of the traditional family: “While being pro-family often elicits the ‘fascist’ label today, the Nazis were opposed to the family –- and not merely because unregulated unions led to unfit offspring. The larger issue was that the ‘traditional family is the enemy of all political totalitarianisms because it is a bastion of loyalties separate from and prior to the state,’ the same reason statist progressives like Hillary Clinton ‘are constantly trying to crack its outer shell’ (377).”

* For disciples of Al Gore: "While today’s progressives are frequently pacifist, they continue the tradition of 'crises,' such as Al Gore’s global warming or European disdain for American foreign policies, which cannot be debated because the time for government action is now."

* For religious and political manipulators: “Both fascists and progressives find it expedient to be disingenuous in the propagation of their ideas. There is an outer core of ideas for popular consumption, surrounding an inner core circulated among the elect.

“For example, fascists and progressives encounter resistance when they express their true contempt for revealed religion. So the attempt is made to accommodate broadly religious themes to the agenda of the state (216-217), emasculating any specific teachings of the religion (e.g., on the sanctity of human life) that are inconvenient. This creates the external impression that progressive ideas are the outworking of faith, while in reality, religion is being co-opted by a divinized state (219).”

* For votaries of big government conservatism: “Many self-styled conservatives have also boarded the statist juggernaut, promoting an ever larger role for government as a surrogate parent.”

How to Have a Race War

By Rick Pearcey • April 7, 2008, 06:59 AM

From Frontpage:

If whiteness stands for all that is evil, blackness symbolizes all that is good. “Black theology,” says [black liberation theologian James] Cone, “refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community . . . Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.” Small wonder that some critics have condemned black liberation theology as "racist idolatry” and “Afro-Nazism."

Before you can have a race war in America, you must first set forth an ideology that legitimizes race hatred and keeps that kind of hatred at a boiling point. The theology of Cone seems to be on this path, absolutizing "blackness," which in turn gives the KKK, Aryans, and kindred spirits an excuse to absolutize "whiteness."

The result? Two gods vying for supremacy, locked in mortal combat, with no possible resolution, even if by fire, as some groups seem to want.

For neither god can afford rational discourse by free-thinking individuals who question authority. Such gods rooted in creation place skin color, race, or group hatreds above rationality, evidence, consideration, and discussion. Lost is the Biblical responsibility to ask questions, wonder, examine evidence, subject theology and putative prophets to information from the Creator. Instead, we see a media dash to charges of bigotry and other attempts at verbal terror and intimidation, all of them beneath the dignity of Man.

The only possible outcome of this recipe, if consistently pursued to its logical conclusion, is race warfare.

If you use racism to drive out racism, what you have is not a solution, but a new racism taking over from the old. This is called regress not progress. And it has nothing to do with information given by the Creator about all people having been created in his image and that the dilemma we all face is ethical not pigmentary.

Black liberation theology? White liberation theology? It's hard to imagine a better recruitment tool for fascists of every hue or stripe. Red, yellow, brown, pink -- the entire rainbow.

Fascism Is Back

By Rick Pearcey • December 12, 2006, 10:24 AM

Fascism is back," Gene Edward Veith tell us in Modern Fascism: Liquidating the Judeo-Christian Worldview.

But the daily news makes this clear as well, with among other items, reports of a Holocaust-denying conference held under the auspices of an anti-Semitic government that says Israel should cease to exist.

Fascism "refuses to go away," says Veith. "Fifty years after World War II, it keeps intruding upon our attention in odd facts and disturbing news. . . .

"The lunatic fringe, of course, is always with us, but we are also being confronted by signs of fascism as a larger social movement. . . .

"The implosion of communism was a great victory for democracy, but the vacuum has been filled by an intense, violent ethnic nationalism and the revival of overt fascist movements that had been suppressed since World War II but are still very much alive. . . .

"Unsettling cultural trends are intensifying throughout the West: cynicism about democracy; a yearning for charismatic leadership; economic disaffection; moral skepticism; a cultural irrationalism that breaks out in acts of inexplicable violence."

Fascism Back in . . .
* Academic Circles: "Fascism is back in academia. A recent biography of the existentialist sage Martin Heidegger has uncovered his extensive involvement in the Nazi party. . .

"Far more disturbing . . . is the ideology that is coalescing . . . in today's intellectual establishment. Cultural determinism; the reduction of all social relationships to issues of sheer power; the idea the one's identity is centered in one's ethnicity or race; the rejection of the concept of the individual -- such ideas have become academic commonplaces.

"The project in contemporary thought of dismantling Western civilization and critiquing 'humanistic values' (such as liberty, reason, and objective moral principles) is not new. All of the ideas are direct echoes of the fascist theories of the 1930s."

* Pop Culture: "The popular culture is the most fertile breeding ground for fascism."

* Mass Politics: "Instead of rational analysis of issues and reasoned debate, our political discourse turns on image manipulation through or mass media. . . . This was Goebbels' dream."

* Morality: "Moral issues are today almost impossible to discuss in objective terms. . . . Morality is reduced to social utility or the assertion of the will. This was precisely the Nazi ethic."

What Is Fascism?
"Only five decades ago, the world was in the nightmare of war and Holocaust. We seem to have forgotten everything. Putting aside images of goose-stepping villains from the movies, does anyone remember exactly what the fascists believed?"

"We must know what fascism is so that we can recognize it when we see it. . . . Racism alone cannot explain the virulence of Nazi anti-Semitism. . . .

"The fascists aligned themselves not only against the Jews but against what the Jews contributed to Western civilization. A transcendent God, who reveals a transcendent moral law, was anathema to fascists. . . .

"Fascism was essentially a spiritual movement. It was a revolt against the Judeo-Christian tradition, that is to say, against the Bible.

"Some fascists believe that Christianity could be purged of its Jewish elements; other believed it should be completely replaced. Some advocated a syncretistic Christianity, revising the faith to make it accord with the new culture. . . .

"The fascist rebellion against transcendence restored the ancient pagan consciousness. With it came barbarism, a barbarism armed with modern technology and intellectual sophistication.

"The liquidation of the transcendent moral law and 'Jewish' conscience allowed the resurgence of the most primitive and destructive emotions."

Veith's book is as relevant today as when it was first published, in 1993.

Dawkins: Nazi Eugenics "May Not Be Bad"?

By Rick Pearcey • November 23, 2006, 05:40 PM

The headline at LifeSite is stunning: "Anti-Religious Extremist Dawkins Advocates Eugenics." Moreover, says the kicker, Dawkins "says Nazi regime’s genocidal project 'may not be bad'."

The report begins: "A leading international anti-religion crusader and supporter of Darwinian theory, Dr. Richard Dawkins, has said that the pseudo-science of eugenics that drove the Nazi regime’s genocidal project 'may not be bad.'

"Since the end of the second world war," LifeSite reports, "the name of eugenics, the social philosophy that the human species or particular races ought to be improved by selective breeding or other forms of genetic manipulation, is one that conjures instant images of the Nazi death camps and 'racial hygiene' programs."

Now comes Dawkins: "In a letter to the editor of Scotland’s Sunday Herald, Dawkins argues that the time has come to lay this spectre to rest. Dawkins writes that though no one wants to be seen to be in agreement with Hitler on any particular, 'if you can breed cattle for milk yield, horses for running speed, and dogs for herding skill, why on Earth should it be impossible to breed humans for mathematical, musical or athletic ability?'”

People are outraged, as one might expect. But it's hard to disagree with Dawkins, if one accepts Darwinian presuppositions.

Evolutionary theory asserts an unbroken line of continuity between life and nonlife, from the empty void of nothingness, to the impersonal particle, to the unconscious amoeba, to the cute little monkey, to the magnificent artist decorating the Sistine Chapel.

In such a framework, there seems no logical or moral barrier to the breeding of human beings for particular kinds of purposes, whether that breeding is imposed by a secular state or promoted by the free market. If the Darwinian view is correct, then what evolutionists regard as our true creator -- the cosmos -- has produced a form of existence (humanity) which over time has come to possess the power to manipulate human reproduction.

That same cosmos, however, is silent regarding the morality of reproductive manipulation and control. The impersonal universe is indifferent to such concerns. In this view, there is no Heaven above, no Hell below, and the particles care not about peace on Earth.

Let us consider where this line of thinking would lead us, if we are to take it seriously as a reality-oriented truth-claim about life in this world. If it is agreeable in principle to breed humans for "mathematical, musical, or athletic ability," then what possible ethical objection could there be to breeding blacks for speed, Jews for herding, whites for swimming, and women for yielding milk?

The rocks do not cry when a baby dies. Electrons do not pause at half-time for a moment of silence. Venus does not remember where it was when JFK died.

If that’s all there is to existence -- variations on the theme of cold rocks and impervious particles –- then, in the impersonal Darwinian universe, what really is the spectre? "Hitler" isn't the spectre. We are, that is, humanity, those who wonder and question.

Yes, conceptually speaking, Hitler is at one with the ethically insensate cosmos, for he believed in the rule of power in the struggle for survival of the strong over the weak.

No, subjecting human reproduction to the eugenic machine in the struggle for survival isn’t the problem: We are. We resist. We question and slow things down. We ghosts of humanity are cogs in the machine.

So the question is: Who are we to stand in the way of progress? The Darwinists want to know. Who are we to question? The Darwinists want to know. And who are we to think we’re special, not exhaustively identified with nature? The secular priests know what to do: Let doubters be cast out as alienated misfits unreconciled to science.

But we revolt. We shake our fists against the indifferent, empty sky. And that is good. We accept the aspirations of meaning and worth and goodness that animate our lives. Our heartache in the face of worldviews too small tells us the sky may not be as empty as some presuppositions require.

There are voices other than those typified by Mr. Dawkins, who is driven to excess by the impress of his view of life. They are rebellious voices who ask questions first and trust later.

I have heard there are people abroad in the land, wild people. They think the science and the evidence and their humanity point in a direction shockingly different from Darwin. There is talk about a strange worldview founded upon a Creator who endows every single human being, every race, every color, with certain inalienable rights. Add a little water and sunlight, it is said, plus determination, and this worldview yields an amazing bounty of human freedom, creativity, beauty, and love.

Hope abounds. Sadly, some may not be able to endure the night without Darwin to console their emptiness. On the other hand, the shadowy world of eugenics and death camps seems less likely to last without Darwin's hand to block the light and justify the darkness.

Orthodox atheists may not like it, but the shouts of the evolutionary priesthood may signal the demise of a great secular dream. Besides, the alternative looks pretty good: There's something appealing about holding science up without casting humanity down.

Note: The entire LifeSite story is here.
