16 Stupidest Comments About the Parkland Shooting Massacre (So Far)

By Rick Pearcey • February 28, 2018, 10:44 AM

John Nolte writes at Breitbart:

In the wake of the Parkland school shooting massacre, and in order to deflect away from the only answer to this contagion of school shootings (which of course is hardening school security), our media and the left in general have to manufacture one stupid hour after another in order to keep the focus on gun-grabbing.

The results of this cynical and desperate crusade have not only exposed these provincial elites as completely opposed to keeping our children safe, but as liars, and morons.

The Left's Strategic Objective in Their War on the NRA

By Rick Pearcey • February 26, 2018, 09:47 AM

Steven McCann writes at American Thinker:

The litany of major American companies severing their ties to the NRA continues to expand.

They are succumbing to the drumbeat of false accusations and hysteria ginned up by the left and its political arm, the Democratic Party, as well as the left's cohorts in the media.

The NRA has been in leftists' crosshairs for the past two decades.

However, the actual purpose of this targeting is far deeper than what the left proclaims to be its objective: the passage of "commonsense" gun laws and restrictions on gun ownership as an antidote to gun violence.

DirecTV Hikes Price of NFL Packages as Ratings Plummet

By Rick Pearcey • February 23, 2018, 11:31 AM

Dylan Gwinn writes at Breitbart:

Never let a little thing like declining ratings, a product in decline, and national public backlash, get in the way of making a buck. At least, that seems to be the message DirecTV is sending after the company raised prices for the NFL Sunday Ticket.

The Propagandists: CNN Anchor Drops All Pretense of Being Fair and Objective on Gun Control

By Rick Pearcey • February 21, 2018, 03:19 PM

Susan Jones writes at CNSNews.com:

Quivering with indignation, CNN's Alisyn Camerota "moderated" an on-air debate Tuesday morning between two Republicans with differing views on gun control.

But to Camerota, there is only one righteous side, and she defended it with all the passion of an activist.

Former U.S. Rep. David Jolly (R-Fla.) is a gun control advocate; Former Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) had the nerve to suggest that the newly minted student activists from Parkland, Florida may have had help from outside groups in coordinating their gun control campaign.

When you view the video embedded in this story, you see that CNN's Alisyn Camerota functions not as a debate moderator but as a committed advocate for the gun control side of the debate.

There is no problem with people arguing for gun control. There is a problem when a journalist who is supposed to be neutral and objective in fact argues and supports a particular position in a debate.

Umpires in baseball are tasked with calling balls and strikes. They are not tasked with rooting for a particular team to win and to shape their calls accordingly. That would be unfair and cheating.

Camerota's unfortunate performance is evidence for the proposition that much of the so-called MSM (mainstream media) has degenerated into MSP (mainstream propaganda).

Perhaps her perfomance is one reason CNN has "deep credibility problems" -- with some 50% of Americans answering "no" when polled on whether they "trust CNN to give you objective news and analysis."

Our role as viewers -- as human beings with free and inquiring minds -- is to think critically about whatever is being presented as news.

No matter the source of information (whether "trusted" or not), blind trust is beneath who we are as human beings designed to live and think free by a verifiable and knowable (and by no means "religious" as "faith" is so often categorized today) Creator.

KKKabortion: ACLU, Planned Parenthood Fight for "Absolute Right" to Abortion Based on Race, Down Syndrome

By Rick Pearcey • February 20, 2018, 03:45 PM

Mark Hodges reports at LifeSiteNews.com:

Planned Parenthood and the ACLU are fighting at a federal appeals court for the right to provide abortions based on the baby's race, sex, or diagnosis of possible Down syndrome.

The two organizations are opposing an Indiana law, signed by then-Gov. Mike Pence in 2016, that bans aborting a baby because of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, or diagnosis of a possible disability. The law also says aborted babies’ remains must be cremated or buried.

"We are talking about an absolute prohibition. . . . The woman has an absolute right as part of her privacy interests," Ken Falk, legal director of the ACLU of Indiana, told the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals during oral arguments on Thursday, according to WFYI Indianapolis. . . .

"Pro-lifers often point out the majority of Planned Parenthood affiliates are in minority neighborhoods, and PP founder Margaret Sanger initiated a campaign to eliminate 'undesirables,' including specifically targeting African American babies," Hodges continues.

"The U.S. Centers for Disease Control admits that while 13 percent of U.S. citizens are black, a wildly disproportionate 35 percent of abortions are committed against black babies," Hodges reports.

Fla. Student Activists: "Dismantle" NRA "Child Murderers," Trump Is "Disgusting," FBI Gets a Pass

By Rick Pearcey • February 19, 2018, 04:10 PM

Susan Jones writes at CNSNews.com:

The FBI failed to investigate warnings about the Florida school shooter, but never mind that. And the National Rifle Association has no control over school shootings, but never mind that, either.

Two newly minted gun control activists from Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida are defending the FBI, while demanding that NRA "child murderers" dismantle and disband. And they have declined an invitation to discuss their concerns with President Donald Trump, whom they call "disgusting."

"But on the Sunday talk shows, the students said their upcoming 'March for Our Lives' in Washington is not political'," Jones states.

By Rick Pearcey • February 16, 2018, 11:19 AM

Fox News reports:

An American flag at a high school in Southwest Utah was found destroyed and replaced with an ISIS flag Thursday, Fox 13 reported.

An unknown perpetrator had taken down the flag at Hurricane High School, which is in the Washington County School District, and replaced it with "what looked like a flag used by ISIS," police said.

The American flag was left shredded at the scene.

The words "ISIS is COMI" had been spray-painted on a wall on the school's east side, KUTV reported.

WALGREENS UNSAFE: Follows Target in Letting Men Who Say They're "Women" Into Women's Bathrooms

By Rick Pearcey • February 14, 2018, 09:34 AM

Mark Hodges reports at LifeSiteNews:

Walgreens has adopted a transgender bathroom policy that allows men in the women's toilets and vice versa, despite that same policy creating a public relations disaster and financial free fall for Target Corporation.

As of November 2017, Walgreens' 8,100 stores welcome "all individuals . . . to use restroom facilities that correspond to the individual's gender identity, regardless of the individual's sex assigned at birth." . . .

The American Family Association (AFA) reports that the new Walgreens pro-transgender policy is the result of pressure from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Southern California after a customer was not allowed to use a Walgreens women’s bathroom. . . .

Breitbart reported that Walgreens "bowed to pressure immediately."

"As the AFA did in response to Target's 2015 transgender changing rooms and bathrooms policy, the family defender created a petition to oppose Walgreen's policy," LifeSiteNews continues.

"Walgreens' store policy endangers women and children by allowing men to frequent women's restrooms," the petition states, according to LifeSiteNews.

The petition also "has more than 82,000 signatures," LifeSite reports.

"Walgreens' new policy could potentially result in female customers becoming victims of voyeurism, sexual assault and physical attack. Walgreens must immediately reverse its dangerous policy that allows men unrestricted access into women's restrooms," the petition also states, according to LifeSiteNews.

As points of action, AFA "urges concerned citizens to call Walgreens and voice their objection (1-800-925-4733), and/or call their local Walgreens store," LifeSiteNews reports.

Kim Jong-un's Smiling Sister Oversees Brutal Regime's Propaganda Machine

By Rick Pearcey • February 12, 2018, 02:40 PM

Kim Yo-jong -- the younger sister of the North Korea dictator Kim Jong-un -- did a super job of smiling her way "through breathess media coverage" during her three-day propaganda visit to the Winter Olympics now taking place in South Korea.

Even as she was turning the heads of American media stalwarts such as CNN and the New York Times, she "heads up the regime's department responsible for lying to its people about the behavior of a regime whose atrocities have been described as 'without parallel in the modern world'," Patrick Goodenough reports at CNSNews.com.

Outrage at Bette Midler Over Call for Rand Paul's Neighbor to Attack Him Again

By Rick Pearcey • February 9, 2018, 12:11 PM

Sasha Savitsky reports at Fox News:

Bette Midler shocked the Twitterverse on Thursday with a post suggesting Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., should be physically attacked for his stance on spending budget in Senate.

Midler tweeted Thursday evening, "Where's Rand Paul's neighbor when we need him?"

What is it with these Hollywood people?

First, Weinstein. Then Tarantino. And now Bette Midler.

Whether it's abortion, imposing counterfeit "marriage," sexually assaulting women, putting actors into life-threatening film-shoot scenarios, or calling for physical attacks on a U.S. senator, something seems seriously out of whack with this community of the rich and famous who constantly promote each other as loving, open-minded, and tolerant.

Perhaps I overstate. Let's try again: Apart from the killing, counterfeiting, sexually assaulting, disrespecting, and calls to punish others physically and violently over policy differences, this community is no doubt a swell bunch of well-adjusted folk with only the best interests of others always at heart.

Finally, as T.J. Eckert responded to Midler on Twitter: "So much for love trumps hate."

Northeastern Prof on Trump: "I Wouldn't Mind Seeing Him Dead"

By Rick Pearcey • February 8, 2018, 12:47 PM

Jessica Chasmar reports at the WTimes:

A professor at Northeastern University in Boston is under fire after he was recorded during a public lecture saying he "wouldn't mind" seeing President Trump dead.

"Sometimes I want to just see him impeached. Other times, quite honestly -- I hope there are no FBI agents here -- I wouldn't mind seeing him dead," Barry Bluestone, a professor of political economy, said during a Jan. 31 public event called "The Rule of Law in a Time of Polarization," Campus Reform first reported.

"Of natural causes," he later clarified with the help of journalist Robert Kuttner.

"Mr. Bluestone's remarks were recorded in a YouTube video uploaded by the school on Monday, but it has since been deleted," according to the Times.

"In my opinion, Trump is the most dangerous man on the planet because of his power of using lies and half-truths to galvanize his supporters and his ability to command vast military resources," the Times quotes Bluestone as saying.

How Sick Hollywood? The Quentin Tarantino Edition

By Rick Pearcey • February 7, 2018, 11:48 AM

In a NYPost column titled, "Tarantino: Polanski's 13-Year-Old Rape Victim 'Wanted to Have It'," Emily Smith writes:

Quentin Tarantino may be trying to act like a woeful choirboy in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein allegations, but he seems all the more mendacious in the light of an old interview in which he claimed Roman Polanski's 13-year-old rape victim "wanted to have it."

Tarantino defended Polanski during a 2003 Howard Stern interview -- which resurfaced on Jezebel -- saying, "He didn't rape a 13-year-old . . . he had sex with a minor. That's not rape."

When reminded by Stern sidekick Robin Quivers that Polanski's victim was plied with drugs and alcohol, Tarantino said, "No, that was not the case at all. She wanted to have it [sex] and dated the guy . . . Look, she was down with this."

According to the Post's Smith, Tarantino spoke "ruefully" of Weinstein and said, "I knew enough to do more than I did."

Tarantino has also been "accused by Uma Thurman of forcing her to do a car crash stunt in Kill Bill that left her injured," Smith reports.

In addition, Tarantino also reportedly "spat in her face and choked her with a chain because he didn't trust a trained actor to do it."

For his part, Tarantino "called the Uma crash 'one of the biggest regrets of my life'," according to the Post.

Smith concludes with these tweet comments from actor Jessica Chastain: "I keep imagining Tarantino spitting in Uma's face and strangling her with a chain . . . . How many images of women in media do we celebrate that showcase abuse? When did this become normalized 'entertainment'? . . . How can an actor feel safe when your director is strangling you?"

Judicial Watch Sues DOJ: Public Has Right to See How Obama WH "Justified Spying on the Trump Team"

By Rick Pearcey • February 6, 2018, 05:40 PM

Michael Chapman reports at CNSNews.com:

The government watchdog group Judicial Watch is suing the Department of Justice (DOJ) under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for FBI documents about the FISA warrants that were obtained to spy on Trump campaign associates in 2016, the oversight group announced on Feb. 2, after the memo on alleged FISA abuse was released by the House Intelligence Committee.

FISA is the acronym for the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, created in 1978. FISC refers to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, which approves or denies the warrants for the DOJ/FBI to surveil (spy on) Americans for foreign intelligence purposes.

"Today's House Russia FISA memo makes a compelling case that the FISA court was misled and severely abused by top officials in the Justice Department and FBI," CNSNews quotes Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton as saying in a statement.

"The American people should be able to see for themselves the details of how the Obama administration officials (and Rod Rosenstein of the Trump administration) justified spying on the Trump team," Fitton said, according to CNSNews.

Super Bowl Ratings Drop to 8-Year Low

By Rick Pearcey • February 5, 2018, 02:36 PM

"Super Bowl LII is the lowest-rated Super Bowl game since 2010, when the Colts and Saints, two smallish market teams, faced-off against each other," Dylan Gwinn reports at Breitbart.

Accodring to Austin Karp at SportsBusiness Daily, "If NBC drew a 47.4 overnight rating for the Super Bowl, that's down only 3% from last year (48.8 for Pats-Falcons on Fox). Not a dramatic drop. But lowest overnight for a Super Bowl since 2010 though (46.4 for Saints-Colts on CBS in 2010)."

Poll: 16% of NFL Fans Say They Will Not Watch the Super Bowl

By Rick Pearcey • February 2, 2018, 11:11 AM

Dylan Gwinn writes at Breitbart:

The predicted 16% percent drop among NFL viewers for Super Bowl Sunday is more severe than the 10% hit the league's ratings took in the regular season. Couple that with the 46% of respondents who said they disapproved of the anthem protests, and it's highly likely the anthem protest movement played a large role in souring interest in the Super Bowl.

Though, as Daniel Roberts of Yahoo! points out, the Super Bowl is still a cultural event, not merely a sporting event. Meaning the game has traditionally relied on its ability to draw non-traditional football fans to the television screens. So the question becomes, will there be enough non-traditional viewers to offset the drop in traditional NFL fans?

We will soon find out.

White House: Trump Not Doing Super Bowl Interview With NBC

By Rick Pearcey • February 1, 2018, 11:27 AM

The NFL is a joke. And for a while there, it was worth watching. Back when it was about sports.

It may recover. But it's dug itself a very deep hole.

Here's the Trump story from Newsmax.
