Sickville: Homosex Teacher "Mentors" Homosex Teens, Molests Them, Dies in Murder-Suicide

By Rick Pearcey • September 2, 2016, 11:19 AM

A Minnesota teacher and his "husband" are "dead in an apparent murder-suicide, after both were placed under investigation for molesting several children," Blake Neff reports at The Daily Caller.

The two homosexuals "apparently lured in their victims by offering to 'mentor' gay youth and instead molesting them," the DC reports.

To build one's life upon a lie is to die. That's bad enough, that's sad enough -- and it's so much worse when you drag other people into your self-created Hell-on-Earth.

Yes, these unfortunate men lived a life of perversion. A life of perversion enabled by irrational happy talk about "diversity," "tolerance," "love," counterfeit "marriage," and a propaganda system designed to advance their unfortunate, unhealthy, immoral agenda.

So yes, they were "liberated." From reason, from ethics, and ultimately from life itself. To build one's life upon a lie is to die. To lie is to hate truth. To hate truth is to choose death. So sad.

"Make America Great Again?" Homosex PayPal Founder's RNC Speech Further Muddies Waters on Trump's Agenda

By Rick Pearcey • July 22, 2016, 12:29 PM

Lisa Bourne writes at LifeSiteNews:

Trump's mixed message on social issues was further augmented by the choice to feature [homosexual PayPal founder Peter] Thiel because of PayPal's record of support for Planned Parenthood and homosexual activism.

PayPal has spent years on Life Decisions International’s Planned Parenthood Boycott list, landing there as recently as 2015

The global payment company bowed several years ago to homosexual activist pressure to deny service to a Christian ministry and a Christian blogger because of their so-called "hate" and "extremism."

PayPal's more recent fiscal move against the state of North Carolina for enacting legislation supporting its residents’ privacy and security was a blow to both religious freedom and jobs in the area.

"PayPal pulled out of plans to open a global operations center in Charlotte in response to Gov. Pat McCrory having signed H.B. 2 into law, overturning the Charlotte City ordinance forcing businesses to give biological males access to female restrooms and showers. PayPal's move cost the area 400 jobs," Bourne writes.

Comment: If Donald Trump wants to "make America great again," he will need to reject any form of extremism that despises the building blocks of human freedom and dignity, as expressed politically and governmentally, for example, in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.

Despite its politically correct public relations, the homosexualist LGBTQ agenda is a prime example of such extremism, for it 1) despises the verifiable Judeo-Christian worldview that undergirds the U.S. founding, 2) despises an open, honest, fair, and fact-based analysis of its extremist viewpoint, and 3) is trying to replace the only known adequate basis for human freedom and dignity with a relativistic will-to-power agenda that has far too much in common with the brutal and bloody fascisms and socialisms of the 20th century than with any basis that could possible "make America great again."

Both intellectually and in practice, this homosexualist extremism bespeaks an agenda that is fanatical, imperious, and dangerous. Its pride is precisely the kind of pride that "goes before destruction."

Intelligence, freedom of thought, a respect for the facts of life, the affirmation of human freedom and dignity -- in a verifiable life in community with God and man, as opposed to the fear-of-facts anti-community required by homosexualist fanaticism -- this is the humane and mainstream position of the American experiment in political and human exceptionalism.

If Trump wants change that is positive and humane, this is the way to go. To share in the extremist LGBTQ agenda is to internalize the seeds of your own destruction.

This is true of individuals and of nations. But for the free-thinking person and for a liberty-minded nation, this need not be so and indeed cannot be so.

It is impossible to "make America great again" while rejecting the principles that made America great in the first place.

Surely, Donald Trump knows skyscrapers need strong foundations if they are to last, and that a mixture of shoddy work with exemplary work is a recipe for disaster -- no matter how good the PR or how shiny the press releases. May he apply that lesson to the challenge of making America great again.

Study: Children of Homosex "Parents" Twice as Likely to Be Depressed

By Rick Pearcey • July 20, 2016, 10:40 AM

Emily Blatter reports at CNSNews.com:

A recent study by Donald Paul Sullins, a research professor at the Catholic University of America, Department of Sociology, reveals that children raised by same-sex parents are twice as likely to suffer delayed-onset depression as their peers raised by heterosexual parents.

Specifically, "[a]t age 28, the adults raised by same-sex parents were at over twice the risk of depression as persons raised by man-woman parents," reads the study abstract.

"As the first study to examine children raised by same-sex parents into adulthood," says Sullins, "this exploratory study aims to contribute new information for understanding the effects of same-sex parenting through the life course transition into early adulthood."

"The research article is entitled, Invisible Victims: Delayed Onset Depression Among Adults With Same-Sex Parents, and was published in the journal Depression Research and Treatment," Blatter reports.

"Well-intentioned concern for revealing negative information about a stigmatized minority does not justify leaving children without support in an environment that may be problematic or dangerous for their dignity and security," the study concludes, according to Blatter.

Lying Homosexual "Pastor" Admits Hoax After Attacking Whole Foods

By Rick Pearcey • May 17, 2016, 08:24 AM

A homosexual Texas "pastor" who "sued Whole Foods after he bought a cake that he alleged had a slur written on it in icing has dropped his lawsuit against the grocer," the AP reports.

"Jordan Brown
of Austin dropped the suit and issued an apology on Monday. Brown said he was 'wrong to pursue this matter and use the media to perpetuate this story'," according to AP.

"Whole Foods vigorously denied the allegation when Brown first came forward in April. The Austin American Statesman reports the company released surveillance video that it said showed Brown was lying and filed a counter suit against him," AP reports.

Whole Foods "said in a statement Monday that given Brown's apology and public admission his story was false, it sees 'no reason' to move forward with its lawsuit," according to AP.

By the way, in this email to Whole Foods, Brown apologizes for just about everything except lying. Nowhere does he admit straight up that he lied and that he apologizes for lying.

Transfascism: Your Daughter Must Pee Next to a Man, and You Will Be Compelled to Agree

By Rick Pearcey • April 20, 2016, 10:38 AM

Ben Shapiro writes at Conservative Review:

The rules of bigotry according to the left represent a constantly shifting kaleidoscope of nonsense.

This week, we learned that if you don't want your small daughter peeing next to a giant man who thinks he is a woman, you are a bigot; if you are a woman who is uncomfortable with a man who thinks he is a woman whipping out his male genitalia to urinate in front of you, you are a bigot; if you are a religious person who doesn't want to participate in an activity you consider sinful, you are a bigot.

At the heart of this insanity is not bigotry but fascism -- the attempt by extremist secularists to use the absolutized idol of government to impose their relativistic will and aberrant desires upon the people of the United States.

The word "bigotry" does have meaning. But unfortunately for rainbow fascists, that meaning can be understood and sustained only where there is a sufficient basis for ethical moral norms that apply across the human condition.

You have that basis in the founding, liberating, and humane vision set forth in the Declaration of Indepdendence, which wisely roots unalienable human rights in a verifiable, transcendant Creator (not the immanent state) who has given rules for freedom.

Very sadly, however, those gripped by transfascism absolutely hate and despise that vision -- and therefore reject the very basis upon which to defy sin and death, alienation and decay.

Nothing but pain and suffering, tears and confusion, hatred and destruction, follow in the wake of this regressive extremism.

Those who hate the rules of freedom necessarily love the rule of bigotry. The transfascist bigot with no basis for love is consummed by a self-inflicted hatred that he, she, or it will never understand.

Insanity over against the basic biological facts of life regarding male and female is but the eve of destruction. And as night follows day, if sanity be not restored, there will be blood. In bathrooms and in streets there will be blood. Watch the evening news as the body politic bleeds out.

Intelligence coupled with humanity revolts.

Rev. Graham to Bruce Springsteen: "A Nation Embracing Sin" and "Political Correctness Is Not Progress"

By Rick Pearcey • April 12, 2016, 10:00 AM

Michael Chapman reports at CNSNews.com:

Reverend Franklin Graham criticized rocker Bruce Springsteen for canceling a concert in North Carolina because he opposes the new state law there that prohibits biological males from using women's locker rooms, showers, and bathrooms, stating that Springsteen's pro-homosexual views are not progressive, but conducive to "embracing sin" and worshipping "godless secularism and political correctness."

Franklin Graham: PayPal Deserves "Hypocrite of the Year Award"

By Rick Pearcey • April 7, 2016, 09:26 AM

Billy Hallowell writes at the Blaze:

Evangelist Franklin Graham is hitting back at PayPal's decision to cancel plans to expand to Charlotte, North Carolina, in protest over the state's enactment of a controversial transgender bathroom bill, saying that the company deserves the "hypocrite of the year award!"

"Congressman Robert Pittenger made a great point yesterday: 'PayPal does business in 25 countries where homosexual behavior is illegal, including 5 countries where the penalty is death, yet they object to the North Carolina legislature overturning a misguided ordinance about letting men in to the women’s bathroom? Perhaps PayPal would like to try and clarify this seemingly very hypocritical position'," Graham wrote on his Facebook page.

Graham "said that the North Carolina law, which was signed by Gov. Pat McCrory late last month, was advanced to help protect women and children against sexual predators, and that he applauds the effort," Hallowell reports.

Homosexualists Seek to Ban Movie "Pink" Depicting Kids Suffering From "Gay" Adoption

By Rick Pearcey • March 14, 2016, 01:40 PM

Matthew Cullinan Hoffman reports at LifeSiteNews.com:

A new motion picture now showing in Mexican theaters is exposing the public for the first time to a relentlessly realistic depiction of the dangers and harm suffered by children adopted by homosexual couples.

Pink: It's Not What They Say It Is, which debuted on two hundred screens this weekend in the Cinemex chain of theaters, is the story of a homosexual couple who adopt a boy, inevitably exposing him to the chaos and confusion generated by their promiscuous lifestyle.

Huckabee: Clerk Kim Davis and the "Criminalization of Christianity"

By Rick Pearcey • September 4, 2015, 08:57 AM

Cheryl Chumley reports at WND:

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee . . . jumped directly into the jailing of Kim Davis -- the Kentucky clerk who refused to grant gay wedding licenses and is now behind bars -- and said Americans need to wake up to the "criminalization of Christianity" that's coursing through the country.

According to Chumley, among Huckabee's statements on this issue are:

"What a world, where Hillary Clinton isn't in jail but Kim Davis is."

 And:

"Government is not God. No man, and certainly no unelected law, has the right to redefine the laws of nature or of nature’s God."

Rep. King Announces Bill to "Restrain the Judges on Marriage"

By Rick Pearcey • April 23, 2015, 09:24 AM

Lauretta Brown reports at CNSNews.com:

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) has introduced a bill that would block the federal courts, including the U.S Supreme Court, from hearing or deciding cases involving the definition of marriage.

King discussed his on legislation on Capitol Hill Wednesday, saying that it "follows Constitutional principles" as outlined in Article 3, Section 2, which reads: "The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish."

"King believes Congress has the authority to tell the federal courts they have no jurisdiction to hear any case on marriage," Brown reports.

"And we have the authority to prohibit any funding from being used to enforce or adjudicate any decision on marriage,” Kings is quoted as saying.

“Congress has the authority to establish all the federal courts, and we’re directed to establish one by the Constitution. That one is the Supreme Court. All the other federal courts are created by Congress at the discretion of Congress," King said, according to Brown.

What happens if King's proposal becomes law? "That would mean that the federal courts would no longer hear cases on marriage. They would revert back to the states, and the states then would define what marriage is, and most of the states have defined marriage between a man and a woman,” Brown quotes King as saying.

Comment: It should be noted that a) in speaking of courts and states "defining marriage," such governmental entities would be making merely legal definitions, and the b) such legal definitions may or may not be true to reality.

Clearly, if a court decides, or the voters of a state decide, that "marriage" allows, for example, that a U.S. president can "marry" a horse, it does not follow that marriage per se has been redefined.

Instead, what has happened is that a society has moved to a point where it cannot, or willfully refuses, to reject counterfeit "marriage" (between man and a man or a man and a horse, let us say) and the real thing (between one man and one woman).

Codifying a counterfeit never changes a sham into an actuality. "Homosex Marriage" is an oxymoronic sham of the first order. It has all the validity and purchase of Monoply money.

Honeymoon Over: Scott Walker Hires Pro-Amnesty, Pro-Abort, Pro-Homosex "Marriage" Staffer

By Rick Pearcey • March 17, 2015, 08:14 AM

Matthew Boyle writes at Breitbart.com:

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker made another massive misstep on Monday, hiring Liz Mair of Mair Strategies to handle communications and social media for his campaign-in-waiting.

Mair’s support for amnesty for illegal aliens, wide-open-borders immigration policies, and public advocacy for the Senate "Gang of Eight" amnesty bill is sure to dog Walker in Iowa, South Carolina, and other early presidential states.

"Steve Deace, a nationally syndicated conservative radio host based in Iowa, said in an interview with Breitbart News that Mair 'is on the wrong side of three issues that are non-starters, non-negotiables for Iowa conservatives'," Boyle continues.

"Deace said the issues that Mair is bringing into the Walker campaign are her support for amnesty, her support of same-sex marriage, and her support of abortion," Boyle states.

“If you go to her website, she’s got her own little pro-killing apologetic she posts up there,” Deace said, according to Boyle.

"Those are bad enough," Boyle also quotes Deace as saying, "but where this delves beyond just issue disagreement into amateur hour is the fact that while Scott Walker is having a debutante ball at the Iowa Freedom Summit hosted by Steve King . . . she is on Twitter ripping the event and ripping Iowans, saying Iowans are 'embarrassing' that as soon as Iowa loses its first in the nation status the better we’ll all be."

Freedom! Breakaway Diocese Wins Big in Battle Against Homosexualist Episcopal Church

By Rick Pearcey • February 6, 2015, 10:25 AM

Billy Hallowell reports at the Blaze:

Property battles that result from churches and dioceses splitting with denominations can become contentious, especially when there are millions of dollars on the line -- and as the battle over homosexuality continues to cause theological rifts, additional separations are likely.

In the latest property war, a court ruled Tuesday that the Episcopal Church no longer has rights to the breakaway Diocese of South Carolina’s property, nor can the Episcopal Church use or control the diocese’s associated names or symbols.

"We are grateful that Judge Goodstein’s decision protects South Carolina churches from being added to the long list of properties that [the Episcopal Church] seized then either abandoned or sold-off," Jim Lewis, Canon to the Ordinary, is quoted as saying.

"The decision protects our freedom to embrace the faith Anglicans have practiced for hundreds of years -- and not the new theology being imposed on [the Episcopal Church's] dwindling membership," Lewis is also quoted as saying.

"According to Charisma News, theological differences were cited as the reason for the split, including disagreement over the traditional definition of marriage, as the Episcopal Church now supports same-sex relationships," Blaze reports.

"Diocese of South Carolina Bishop Mark Lawrence said that the split was a long time coming," according to the Blaze.

"We’ve been on a collision course with the Episcopal Church for 20 years for issues such as trustworthiness of the holy Scriptures, the uniqueness of Jesus Christ, issues of anthropology -- including what is a human being -- questions of marriage and who receives the sacraments. All of those things are of theological concern to us," the Blaze quotes Bishop Lawrence as saying.

"This in mind, the Diocese of South Carolina sued the Episcopal Church in January 2013 to obtain the rights to its property. And with the conclusion of the court battle this week, 36 churches that are a part of the Diocese of South Carolina were officially granted an exit from the church, granting the diocese the rights to $500 million in property," the Blaze reports.

Atlanta Fire Chief Fired Over Views of Homosexuality Files Discrimination Complaint

By Rick Pearcey • January 30, 2015, 11:38 AM

Kate Scanlon reports at the Daily Signal:

Former Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran has filed a federal complaint that he is a victim of religious discrimination after losing his job after his writing about his views on homosexuality attracted attention.

Cochran, who is also a deacon at Elizabeth Baptist Church, was terminated after controversial passages about homosexuality were discovered in his book, Who Told You You Are Naked?, self-published in 2013.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Cochran was fired by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed after his objection to Cochran’s description of homosexuality as "vile, vulgar and inappropriate at work."

The complaint was filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of Cochran by his attorney, Jonathan Crumly, who alleges that Cochran’s termination is in violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

"Americans are guaranteed the freedom to live without fear of losing their jobs because of their beliefs and thoughts. We are continuing to evaluate all available legal options to vindicate Chief Cochran after his unjust termination," Crumly is quoted as telling the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

"Crumly is affiliated with Alliance Defending Freedom, an organization that defends freedom of religion," Scanlon reports.

Comment: Both the U.S. Constitution (1st Amendment) and Declaration of Independence (liberty, the pursuit of happiness) recognize Kelvin Cochran's unalienable human right to speak freely and publicly regarding the vile, vulgar, and inappropriate phenomenon of homosexuality.

What the mayor and his politically correct true believers in secularism are demonstrating is their hatred of real diversity, their hatred of real liberty, and their hatred of the transhistorical norms of freedom as expressed in the founding documents of the American experiment.

Moreover, Mayor Kasim Reed of Atlanta (photo) is actually the one who is discriminating. He discriminates not only against Mr. Cochran, but also against the knowable Creator and against the Creator's verifiable norms for human freedom and dignity.

In the real world, as opposed to that of secular superstition, you cannot have your cake and eat it too. No mayor, governor, Congress, or president can reject the norms of freedom and yet maintain a free society.

In the real world, when you pull a flower up by its roots, "liberating" it from its soil, its source of life, that flower is effectively dead unless returned to its source of life. The bloom may last a while, and the ignorant may believe the bloom of life continues as before.

But the executioners know better. As do any who know the relationship between life and the source of life.

Surely, the city of Atlanta can find a mayor who knows the difference between life and death, freedom and nonfreedom, the wrongful discrimination against the Creator and his blessings, and the rightful and compassionate critique of ethical breakdown.

Come on, Atlanta. Come on, Georgia. Up your game. Get in the fight for human freedom and dignity.

Down with authoritarianism masquerading as liberation. Up with liberty in community with God and neighbor.

Former Atlanta fire chief Kelvin Cochran is behaving as a man freed by truth to express that truth, and live that truth, across the whole of life, including public life.

This is his birthright under God. He takes it with him wherever he goes. Into the firehouse, it is his birthright. Into the house of government, it is his birthright. And in every public space, it is his birthright.

For he is a man. He is not a slave. He is a human being, he is not a slave. Wake up, Mr. Mayor. Wake up, Atlanta. Wake up.

Obama Administration Lifts Lifetime Ban on Male Homosexuals Donating Blood

By Rick Pearcey • December 30, 2014, 11:40 AM

Ben Johnson reports at LifeSiteNews:

The Obama administration announced [December 22] that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) was lifting a lifetime ban on homosexual or bisexual men from donating blood, as long as they had not had sex for at least a year.

The FDA action contradicts a decision earlier this month from its own expert panel, which did not recommend changing the lifetime ban for men having sex with men, as well as hearing expert testimony that a one-year ban would not be adequate to protect public health.

A panel of 17 experts on the FDA's Blood Products Advisory Panel voted against the change this month, but [a Health and Human Services] panel had backed the one-year limit.

"In a press release, the FDA insisted that it had 'carefully examined and considered the available scientific evidence' and taken into account 'the recommendations of advisory committees to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the FDA' before making its decision," Johnson reports.

"Although a sliver of the population, men who have sex with men (MSM) make up more than 60 percent of all new AIDS cases," according to LifeSiteNews."The percentage of HIV-positive men who knowingly have sex with other men without using a condom has increased over the last decade, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to nearly two-thirds (62 percent)."

"Members of the Blood Products Advisory Committee were clearly reluctant to recommend any change to the current policy in the absence of a national program of comprehensive monitoring of the entire blood transfusion system from donor to recipient," Peter Sprigg of the Family Research Council is quoted as saying.

"Research presented to the Committee confirmed the dramatically elevated risk of HIV infection among men who have sex with men (MSM) -- a risk 62 times higher than in the general public. This risk certainly justifies the highest level of vigilance, and political and social concerns must not be allowed to trump the public health," Sprigg said.

"It is shocking that the FDA did not even wait for a recommendation from their own Advisory Committee before rushing to the politically correct decision demanded by homosexual activist groups," Sprigg also said.

"The previous policy that no blood be collected from any male who has had sex with another male since 1977 had been in place since 1983," LifeSiteNews states.

Black Pastor: Homosex Mayor's Attack on Christian Pastors "Truly the Next Civil Rights Movement"

By Rick Pearcey • October 29, 2014, 10:24 AM

Penny Starr reports at CNSNews.com

The Reverend Bill Owens, founder and president of the Coalition of African American Pastors, said the attack on Christian pastors by the openly gay mayor of Houston, who subpoenaed their sermons and other communications after they opposed a city ordinance that allows transgender people to use any public restroom, signals the need for "the next civil rights movement."

Owens, speaking from Houston, told CNSNews.com that he and other pastors in his coalition held a press conference on Tuesday to support the Houston pastors and express their concern about this threat to religious liberty.

"Attacking ministers about what they preach is way over the line,” Owens is quoted as saying.

According to CNSNews, Pastor Owens "thinks the action taken by Mayor Annise Parker, a lesbian, and the city attorney is a violation of the Constitution’s First Amendment guarantee of freedom of religion, and church leaders need to fight back."

In addition, "Owens said the gay rights movement is trying to make expressing one’s Christian views on homosexuality 'hate speech'," CNSNews reports.

"It’s not hate," Owens is quoted as saying. "We don’t hate anyone. It’s expressing our religious beliefs."

Owens also "thinks this new civil rights struggle will require the same investment by churches and church leaders that was made by Martin Luther King Jr. and others who fought to gain equal rights for all Americans regardless of their race," according to CNS.

“Churches need to rise up,” CNS quotes Owens as stating, "adding that all faiths should be concerned about efforts to silent religious speech."

"I may not agree with all religions but I will defend their right to speak," Owens said, according to CNSNews.

David Limbaugh: 3 Outrages of Fascist Leftists in Houston

By Rick Pearcey • October 17, 2014, 10:19 AM

"There are at least three outrageous things about the Houston city government's recent actions pushing an ordinance to allow men and women to use each other's public restrooms," David Limbaugh, author of the new book Jesus on Trial: A Lawyer Affirms the Truth of the Gospel, writes in his latest column.

First Outrage: "The first is the substance of the ordinance itself, which allows men and women, irrespective of their biology, to use bathrooms designated for the opposite sex. The major driver of this law was Houston's lesbian mayor, Annise Parker."

Second Outrage: "The second outrage is that the city has greatly overreached in subpoenaing the pastors of the city for copies of their sermons and their communications to their congregations to determine whether they have violated this Godforsaken ordinance. Lest you think this was a mistake, the mayor tweeted, 'If the 5 pastors used pulpits for politics, their sermons are fair game.'

"There is no constitutional prohibition against pastors discussing politics."

Third Outrage: "The third outrage is the city's lawless disqualification and rejection of valid petitions filed by voters to challenge the law."

Limbaugh Concludes: "The extreme left, whose natural political habitat is the Democratic Party, is growing ever more intolerant, excessive, coercive, intimidating, lawless and frightening. People of ordinary sensibilities and traditional values and others are awakening to the fascism of extreme leftists in this country, which is one of the many reasons we're going to see a tsunami of voters voicing their outrage against such un-American behavior in November."

Houston Mayor Backs Off From Subpoenas to Pastors

By Rick Pearcey • October 16, 2014, 08:32 AM

Sarah Rumpf reports at Breitbart:

Houston Mayor Annise Parker has backed down from the subpoenas the City of Houston issued to several area pastors, Breitbart Texas has learned.
Breitbart Texas reported earlier about the controversy, stemming from litigation challenging the city's anti-discrimination ordinance and subpoenas asking the pastors for the content of their sermons, speeches, and communications with church members.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz weighed in, firmly supporting the pastors in their efforts to fight the subpoenas, while Mayor Parker initially remained adamant that the city had the right to request those records. Despite posting comments on Twitter just hours before that seemed to indicate she would continue to fight this issue, she told a Houston radio station that she had changed her mind.
"As reported by KTRH, Mayor Parker admitted that the subpoenas were too broad, and that the pastors' sermons should not have been included," according to Breitbart.

Houston Demands Ovesight of Sermons

By Rick Pearcey • October 14, 2014, 08:00 AM

Bob Unruh reports at WND:

Officials with the city of Houston, Texas, who are fighting for a controversial ordinance that would allow men to use women’s restrooms there now have demanded to see the sermons preached by several area pastors.

The recent move came in a subpoena from the city to pastors for copies of their sermons -- and copies of other communications from the pastors to their congregations -- in the city's fight over a "non-discrimination" plan that allows "gender-confused" people to use whatever public restrooms with which they identify.

A legal action challenging the city’s move has developed because the city allegedly violated its own charter in the process of adopting the Equal Rights Ordinance, which in May designated homosexuals and transgender persons as a protected class.

"Critics say the measure effectively enables sexual predators who dress as women to enter female public bathrooms, locker rooms, and shower facilities," WND reports. "And a coalition of activists that includes area pastors filed suit Aug. 6 against the city and lesbian Mayor Annise Parker after officials announced a voter petition to repeal the measure didn’t have enough signatures to qualify for the election ballot."

Commission Tells Christian Business Owners to Leave Their Religion at Home

By Rick Pearcey • October 8, 2014, 12:47 PM

Todd Starnes writes at Fox News:

The Human Rights Commission in Lexington, Kentucky has a chilling message for Christian business owners who refuse service to LGBT organizations: leave your religion at home.

"It would be safe to do so, yes," Executive Director Raymond Sexton told me. "Or in this case you can find yourself two years down the road and you’re still involved in a legal battle because you did not do so."

Human beings must, of course, reject this fascism all dolled up as non-discrimination and anti-bigotry.

What is actually occurring is that the Human Rights Commission in Lexington is pushing a homosexualist worldview -- it's a powerplay seeking to impose the feelings of an extremist minority that stands in direct opposition to the rules of freedom and of humanness -- rules so well articulated, for example, in the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution.

The verifiable Creator set forth in the Declaration is both the originator of the human family and of human sexuality. And as Martin Luther King, Jr., recognized, this same Creator is the proper ethical basis for standing against racism.

But on this basis there also is responsibility. To avoid abuse and manipulation, it must be recognized that every call to nondiscrimination is not valid simply by the yelling, simply by the presence of media voices, or even of protest. Rather, such calls must be ethically sound as measured against He who is the ultimate ethical environment in the universe.

In fact, the human being is called to resist evil and overcome it with good. Thus, in a moral universe, an enlightened humanity knows the difference between a proper discriminating against racism (because all people are created in the image of God) and the cowardly acceptance of homosexualism (because this unfortunate dysfunction violates the "laws of nature and of nature's God").

And, by the way, attempts to use relativist "law" to run people out of business, or otherwse shut people up, is just more evidence of fascism animating homosexualism.

Real human rights, real unalienable rights, are sourced in the Creator; they are not to be found in hatred and discrimination against that Creator. This is very bad news for homosexualists and their networks of enablers.

No matter what emotional banner a politically activist group might wave ("We're Victims!" "Equality!" "Non-Discrimination!" "Human Rights!", etc., etc.), any society that rejects the rules of freedom simply cannot remain free.

The Creator is the verifiable ground of human liberty and dignity, and His liberating truth touches every aspect of life and thought, producing wonderful results in science, medicine, the arts, politics, and so on. It is a liberation inside the home, but also a liberation beyond the home. It is a liberation that rejects the trendy fascisms that now again rear their ugly heads.

The wholistic person rejects invitations to hypocrisy. For it is an invitation to hypocrisy to demand of people seeking to live in community with God and man to "leave your religion at home."

As if truth could be confined within the small mind of secularism, which preaches fragmentation, not wholeness. As if truth could be reduced to dumbed-down secularist redefinitions of "religion."

And what a misguided attack! You might as well tell people to leave love at home, leave goodness at home, leave the pursuit of excellence at home. What a blindlingly innane and inhumane philosophy these secularists are seeking to impose upon Americans. In fact, nowhere in creation is submission to inhumanity acceptable.

Or we can make the point more broadly: All of creation is "home" for the human being.

What followers of Jesus of Nazareth are seeking to practice is therefore not somebody's private little religion. Rather, what is affirmed is a comprehensive way of life rooted in verifiable information concerning God, man, and the cosmos. This is an information-rich approach to living.

Maybe it's the secularists and the humanity-denying agenda of the so-called "Human Rights Commission" in Lexington, Kentucky, that should leave their narrow-minded agenda at home. It's too small for the human being.

"Inclusive" Principal Bans Sandwich Donations From Chick-Fil-A

By Rick Pearcey • September 16, 2014, 10:04 AM

Dustin Siggins reports at LifeSiteNews:

A California principal has banned donations on campus from a local Chick-Fil-A because of alleged discrimination by the fast food chain.

Ventura High School Principal Val Wyatt told the Ventura County Star that the company's "political stance on gay rights" was reason enough to prevent 200 donated lunches from being used by the school's booster club to raise money for the school's football team.

"Because the students of Ventura High School and their parents would be at the event, I didn’t want [Chick-Fil-A] on campus," Wyatt is quoted as saying. "Her position has been backed by Ventura Unified School District Superintendent Trudy Little Arriaga, who said that 'we value inclusivity and diversity on our campus and all of our events and activities are going to adhere to our mission," according to LifeSiteNews.

So, you see it's all so simple: If you agree with the extremist homosexualist agenda, then you willl be included in the "inclusivity and diversity." If not, thou shalt not be tolerated.

People who think for themselves, who question political correctness, who affirm the U.S. founding vision of unalienable rights in community with the Creator (as opposed to pseudo-rights dreamed up by California high school principals, etc., etc.) are otherized.

Well, we'll keep our freedom. And we reject the narrow-minded secular dogma that requires moral and intellectual suicide when in the presence of "diversity" and "inclusiveness."

Meanwhile, to find a Chick-Fil-A near you, click here

Farm Halts Weddings After Lesbian Tyrants Impose Their Private "Morality"

By Rick Pearcey • September 1, 2014, 08:21 AM

Breitbart reports:

Cynthia and Robert Gifford, owners of Liberty Ridge Farm in New York, used to rent out their farm so couples could get married on the grounds. They will no longer offer such services because the state ruled they had to violate their Christian beliefs and allow same-sex weddings on their property.

"The state had fined the Giffords $13,000 when they refused to allow a lesbian couple, Jennifer McCarthy and Melisa Erwin, to be married on their farm in 2012. The Giffords were against a wedding ceremony for the lesbian couple but said a wedding reception would be permissible," according to Breitbart.

McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, said that transgenderism is a "mental disorder" that merits treatment, that sex change is "biologically impossible," and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with and promoting a mental disorder.

Judge: Tenn. Ban on Homosex "Marriage" Is Constitutional

By Rick Pearcey • August 12, 2014, 11:10 AM

Michael Gryboski reports at Christian Post:

A judge has ruled that Tennessee's constitutional amendment banning legal recognition of same-sex marriage is legal, breaking a streak of judicial losses for the traditional marriage side.

Circuit Court Judge Russell E. Simmons Jr. ruled last week against the claim that the state constitutional ban on same-sex marriage violates the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

"In 2006, Tennessee was one of multiple states in the U.S. to have a majority of voters approve a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage," Gryboski writes. "Known as Amendment 1, the ballot initiative passed overwhelmingly with 81 percent of voters in favor. In the same election cycle, Virginia, Wisconsin, South Dakota, South Carolina, Idaho and Colorado approved similar bans."

This win for marriage against its counterfeits is to be applauded. Tennesseans are right to protect marriage and family life, and judges who stand against homosexualist extremism are to be commended.

The U.S. Constitution was drawn up and ratified to apply to governance and society the principles of freedom as set forth in the Declaration of Independence.

That Declaration, as every schoolboy and schoolgirl ought to know, understands human freedom and dignity as rooted in unalienable rights from the Creator, who, it turns out, is also the same origin for the remarkable and liberating center of civil society known as marriage and family.

The protection of marriage -- in Tennessee and elsewhere -- is the protection of human freedom and dignity against the ravages and discriminations of many kinds of barbarism, including that of the current faddish, but false and extremist, homosexualist movement.

Christians Not Welcome in Baton Rouge?

By Rick Pearcey • July 29, 2014, 11:12 AM

From Tony Perkins of the Family Research Center:

The degrading comments of a city councilman aligned with the Baton Rouge Area Chamber and other prominent businesses in my hometown are sending a message to Christians and conservative businesses that they are not welcomed in Louisiana’s Capital City.

In attempting to pass a special rights measure based upon sexual behavior last Wednesday, Councilman John Delgado ironically lashed out at opponents in his closing remarks alleging that their opposition to the controversial ordinance was using the council to impose a  "Christian version of Sharia law on the citizens of Baton Rouge."

The comments came after three and half hours of public comment on the so-called "Fairness Ordinance," a measure similar to the one recently adopted by the Houston, Texas, council and now the focus of a citizen-led referendum to overturn it.

The "Fairness Ordinance" would create a new cause of action in District Court for allegations of discrimination on the basis of various categories, including sexual orientation and gender identity, something the Louisiana Constitution explicitly prohibits.

"Led by my good friend Gene Mills of the Louisiana Family Forum, over 75 different churches and a number of prominent pastors assembled at the Metro Council meeting in opposition to the ordinance," Perkins continues, "many making the point it was not Christians and churches trying to make impositions upon the citizens but rather homosexual activists that are less than 3% of the population."

"Spiritual Warfare": Duck Dynasty’s Jase Robertson on GQ Interview

By Rick Pearcey • July 14, 2014, 09:02 AM

Michael Chapman reports at CNSNews.com:

The controversial GQ interview of Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson, which led to his temporary suspension from the popular A&E show in December -- and sparked a national debate on free speech and sexual morality -- was a form of "spiritual warfare," said Jase Robertson, who added that as the interview went on, "it felt more like an attack because our family has a prayer at the end of the show."

Duck Dynasty’s Jase Robertson, the second oldest son of Phil and "Miss Kay" Robertson, related his experience of that GQ session -- which was initially attended by the show’s entire cast but they eventually walked out because of its hostile questioning -- in an interview with CNSNews.com on July 8 in Washington, D.C.

Jase Robertson and his family were at the nation’s capital to attend a press conference to raise awareness about cleft palate and lip, a condition their 10-year-old daughter Mia was born with and for which she has undergone several corrective surgeries.

"Prior to the press conference, CNSNews.com spoke with Jase Robertson about his new book, Good Call: Reflections on Faith, Family, and Fowl, where he touches on the GQ interview, stating it was the only one he ever walked out on and that he had asked his father 'to stop the interview because the questions were hypothetical, argumentative, and controversial'," CNSNews.com reports.

Flawed Study Does Not Show Children of Homosex Parents Better Off

By Rick Pearcey • July 11, 2014, 09:45 AM

Katrina Trinko writes at the Daily Signal:

There’s been no shortage of media coverage of a new study that purportedly shows that children raised by same-sex partners fare better than other children.

"Children of same-sex couples are happier and healthier than peers, research shows," was the headline of a Washington Post story. "Largest-ever study of same-sex couples' kids finds they’re better off than other children," proclaimed Vox, while NBCNews.com announced, "Children of Same-Sex Parents Are Healthier: Study."

But the actual study is a little more, well, complicated.

Or as University of Texas professor Mark Regernus put it, because of flaws in the study, "we simply cannot know whether claims like . . . 'happier and healthier' are true, valid, and on target."

"Plans for homosexual marriage met with massive French opposition from the French people, and it looks like gender re-education has taken a major hit as well," say Reisman and Hampson at WND.

Nancy Pelosi Warns Catholic Bishop Not to March for Marriage

By Rick Pearcey • June 16, 2014, 09:27 AM

William Bigelow writes at Breitbart:

In an astonishing challenge to traditional Catholic doctrine, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, nominally Catholic, has taken to telling San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone that he should not attend the National Organization for Marriage’s June 19 march on the Supreme Court in Washington D.C.

Cordileone is scheduled to be a featured speaker at the event, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, which is consistent with his championing of Proposition 8 in 2008. Cordileone helped raise $1.5 million for the initiative, which intended to ban same-sex marriage in the state. He once said, "The ultimate attack of the evil one is the attack on marriage."

According to Breitbart, "Pelosi, who called the event 'venom masquerading as virtue,' wrote to Cordileone, 'We share our love of the Catholic faith and our city of San Francisco,' adding that the event would feature some participants displaying 'disdain and hate towards LGBT persons,' and asserting, 'If someone is gay and is searching for the Lord and has good will, then who am I to judge him?'

The Benham Brothers and "Truly Being Persecuted" in America Now

By Rick Pearcey • May 26, 2014, 11:02 AM

Ken McIntyre writes at The Foundry

The twin brothers who lost their reality TV show when a website attacked their Christian beliefs say they’ll not only "stand up" to bullying intolerance but also keep a commitment to six families by selling their properties without taking a cent.

David and Jason Benham, who recently met and prayed with the six families scheduled to be on their canceled show, told Dana Loesch on her online show on TheBlaze TV that Christians in other countries face far worse than losing television deals.

"We are really not being persecuted in this country yet. We’ve got a lot to be thankful for," David Benham said. "So we just remember those folks that are truly being persecuted. And it really strengthens our resolve in this nation to really stand up to this bully, this agenda to silence, and say: 'OK, enough is enough.'"

The Benham brothers are correct to stand up to bullies, but the evidence suggests that they miss the mark when they say they are not "truly being persecuted."

True enough, the brothers are not being physically attacked, but physical assault is a later indicator, not an early indicator, of persecution.

I address this topic in "Easter and Other Four-Letter Words":

The "systematic efforts by those who seek to eradicate Christian principles from our schools and the public square should be seen for what it is -- persecution," said Rena Lindevaldsen, an attorney with Liberty Counsel. "Any avid observer of First Amendment issues will recognize that the efforts made by certain groups to 'maintain the separation of church and state' are blatantly discriminatory." For "only Christian teachings and beliefs are targeted for removal," and yet "secular humanism runs rampant in the schools" and "students are regularly taught Buddhist principles and Muslim beliefs."

But haven’t we been told that real persecution happens in other countries? Besides, how can Christians possibly be persecuted here in America, where they are in the majority? A brief look at the Biblical information on the word "persecution" may help clarify what we are talking about, and help us avoid overstating, or understating, what confronts us here in the States.

Biblically speaking, "persecution" can be understood to include a range of hostile actions against Christians. Consider the activities of Saul. In Acts 8, we learn that there "arose a great persecution against the church" and that "Saul was ravaging the church." Here the persecution was "great" but did not include killing or maiming, for Saul limited himself to dragging off "men and women" and committing "them to prison."

In Acts 9:1, Saul was "still breathing threats and murder against the disciples." Here, the persecution includes "threats" and a strong desire to kill Christians, as well as Saul’s attempt to acquire the authority to carry out the threats. Later, the great persecutor would be on hand to witness the stoning of Stephen, but Saul’s own action as a persecutor demonstrates that persecution is an activity that includes but is not limited to killing or maiming.

Consider also the career of Saul-turned-Paul, for he who once persecuted Christians later embraced Christianity. In 2 Tim. 3:11,12, Paul talks about the "persecutions and sufferings that happened" to him at "Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra." When we turn to Acts 13 and 14, we discover that "persecutions" include several elements. In Antioch, Paul’s teaching was opposed by people who drove Paul and Barnabas out of the district. In Iconium, unbelievers "poisoned [Gentiles’] minds" against Christianity and intended to "mistreat" and "stone" Paul and Barnabas, but the two of them left -- thus, Paul and Barnabas suffered persecution even though they had the good sense to leave before experiencing ill-treatment in a physically intense form.

In Lystra, the opposition pursued Paul and turned the crowds against him. He was stoned, dragged out of the city, and left for dead. Here we see persecution in many of its elements: Pursuit of the Christian, stirring up anti-Christian animus, and then decisive physical action based on that anti-Christian animus. It is this range of Biblical data that led one of my former professors in New Testament Greek to conclude that there are different kinds of persecutions: "physical, social, mental, and spiritual" (see W. Harold Mare, "Persecution," in Baker’s Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology).

It seems clear that what we see in contemporary America is a form of persecution. This is simply to state a fact, a fact that should always be kept in balance even as it is acknowledged. "As a boy," Os Guinness of Trinity Forum told me, "I lived through the Chinese revolution and its wave of savage persecution against Christians, so we must always keep a sense of perspective. And of course, we must always respond, not with victim-playing, but in the way Jesus taught his followers to face hatred and opposition. But there's no doubt that prejudice and discrimination against the 'old faith' are mounting and that extreme persecution may be in the wings." . . .

"Persecution is simply the clash between two irreconcilable value-systems," wrote John R.W. Stott in Christian Counterculture: The Message of the Sermon on the Mount. This is not to say that the clash of irreconcilable systems necessarily always results in physical or legal violence -- and Christians especially should take care not to persecute those with whom they have theological differences, as for example occurred when pre-Reformer Jan Hus was burned at the stake in July 1415 at the Council of Constance.

And yet, Stott’s comment about the clash of irreconcilable systems offers insight into much of what we have today: A smaller, but more organized and culturally powerful secular elite gripped by an anti-Christian worldview has successfully targeted the larger but less-organized and culturally less-powerful Christian community in America.

The two groups represent mutually irreconcilable worldviews, with the secularists declaring that Christianity is at best a subjective crutch that belongs in the closet and that, at worst, is responsible for just about all the ills of the modern world. A smaller group with a vision, plan, and the will to execute the plan, often has the advantage over a larger group, even a majority, if that larger group lacks these strengths and instead fears its loss of privilege, influence, or its "personal peace and affluence," as Francis Schaeffer once put it.

The Christian community as a whole has yet to mount an effective answer to the challenge of today’s low-intensity persecution in America. What is needed is an answer that says (and demonstrates, observably) that Christianity is a total way of life based on verifiable truth about God, humanity, and the universe, and that the Judeo-Christian worldview alone gives an adequate intellectual and livable basis for the dignity of man and human creativity, the fight against evil and injustice, and the possibility of substantial healing across the whole of private and public life, including government, law, and education. We have to ask ourselves: If we have yet to sufficiently challenge the milder opposition we now face in America, what makes us think we will be ready if we have to face forms of "extreme persecution” that "may be in the wings"?

Thankfully, we in America have not yet faced the kind of systematic persecution that Guinness lived through as a boy in China and that others even now face in North Korea, China, in Islamic nations, and so on, around the globe. We should be thankful not just because friends and families are not being harmed, but also because the relative freedom we still enjoy in this land can be used to better provide aid to our brothers and sisters afflicted elsewhere around the globe.

Having said this, let us not forget that Christians in America have been subjected to a measure of lethal anti-Christian violence. We can think of the three students in Paducah, Ky., who in December 1997 were gunned down at Heath High School, where they had gathered in the lobby to pray. Five other members of the group were wounded. Then in April 1999, among the many casualties of Columbine High School in Colorado were one wounded and two murdered Christian students (the killers reportedly asked students, "Do you believe in God?").

Then in September 1999, seven people died and seven were wounded at Wedgewood Baptist Church in Ft. Worth after a gunman fired into a congregation gathered for a Wednesday night prayer meeting. Those who think that severe, organized persecution could never happen here may want to consider the implications of abortion in America: that secularists are willing to spill human blood, even that of the innocent unborn, if they have the power and the law behind them. Is there anything more fascist than abortion?

"Social ostracism," wrote E.M. Blaiklock in The Christian in Pagan Society, "in the early history of the church preceded official persecution." There is a pattern in the move from milder to more extreme forms of persecution: First ostracize and demonize, then destroy. How many more years of the demonization of Christians will it take before the power-centers of society feel sufficiently emboldened to act against those who refuse to bend the knee to a modern Nero-class of government elites protected by activist supporters in the press, Hollywood, and on campus?

If the church, for example, can be demonized as a kind of cancer (which happened to a local congregation in Castle Hills, Texas, as Limbaugh’s Persecution reports), do we really think that anti-Christian hate groups will not employ this kind of sentiment to justify the attempt to remove the church and other "cancerous" groups from the body of society for the health of society? Christians are being persecuted in America, admitted one critic of the Limbaugh book, and they should be, according to this person -- because we live in a multicultural society.

"If Christians do not fight for the right to express their faith, they will soon find themselves living in an America where the more severe forms of persecution become mainstream," cautioned Lindevaldsen. Clearly, resisting the spirit of Herod and Pilate is not nearly as difficult as it some day may be, should the opposition actually enjoy the support of most Americans.

I concluded at that time, in days before Easter 2004: "There’s no need to wait for the arena and the full blast of evil against good. We can act now by waging love in small ways. Easter is at the door. Let the Easter eggs roll. Enjoy the colors of the day and the rising of the sun as it breaks over the horizon and casts the darkness away.

"But we might also remember to tell a friend what it’s all about. That there was in space and time and history circa A.D. 33 a huge stone that you could touch with your hands. The rock was set in front of a tomb owned by Joseph of Arimathea, guarded by flesh-and-blood Roman guards whose lives depended upon making sure the body of Jesus of Nazareth remained undisturbed by friend or foe. Everything went according to plan, according to fate, the laws of life and death, the gods of Rome, and according to the wishes of the political and religious elites. Until the stone moved."

FYI -- For more on persecution in America, please see Persecution: How Liberals Are Waging War Against Christianity, by David Limbaugh. I was honored to serve as primary editor of this book.

Banned Benham Brothers Will Let "Free Market" Decide Fate of TV Show

By Rick Pearcey • May 14, 2014, 09:03 AM

Ken McIntyre and Alissa Tabirian write at The Foundry:

Twin brothers whose Christian beliefs on marriage and the sanctity of life got their real estate show canceled by a cable network before it ever aired say they’re open to other TV offers if "the free market" will allow it.

Pressure generated by a left-wing website led to HGTV’s dropping Flip It Forward, the show that was to feature David and Jason Benham. The unstated reason: One or both twins expressed what they consider Bible-based views in support of marriage as a man-woman union and in opposition to abortion on demand.

Now, though, one or more other networks could make a play for the Benham brothers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A dispatch by Paul Bond identifies INSP -- a "traditional values" television outlet that reaches 75 million household -- as one suitor.

Comment (updated, from my Facebook page):

I would like to see this show make it to the air. The Benham brothers have been attacked for remaining true to marriage (as opposed to marriage counterfeits) and respectful of all humans (even the preborn!).

Their views are consistent with science, biology, the Declaration of Independence (unalienable rights), and sound ethics rooted in verifiable information from a knowable Creator who welcomes questions and dialogue from free-thinking human beings.

Unfortunately, homosexual activists and their allies are so into their agenda that they have abandoned the rules of freedom in pursuit of what they want.

Not surprisingly, having abandoned the rules of freedom, homosexualists now impose unfreedom -- they oppress, silence, castigate, and condemn.

Not exactly "gay," if you ask me. More like victimizer than victim, if you ask me.

A people of freedom and dignity questions this.

In the face of such rage and ugliness, yes, we ask questions.

Intelligence revolts.

Fascist Love: Meet the New Nazis -- and Their Victims

By Rick Pearcey • May 12, 2014, 08:34 AM

David Kupelian writes at WND:

Remember when, a few weeks ago, Newt Gingrich called the forced resignation of Brendan Eich as Mozilla CEO an "open, blatant example of the new fascism"? Charles Krauthammer called it "totalitarian," Pat Buchanan labeled it "the new blacklist" and RedState headlined it as "a fascist purge." Even foulmouthed leftist comedian Bill Maher described the perpetrators as the "gay mafia," while well-known "gay" media personalities condemned it, Andrew Sullivan saying it "disgusts me" and radio talker Tammy Bruce calling out the "gay gestapo."

As everyone knows, Eich -- the tech prodigy who created JavaScript and co-founded Mozilla, maker of the popular Firefox browser -- had committed the unpardonable sin of donating, years earlier, $1,000 to California’s Proposition 8 upholding traditional marriage. And when he was forced out as CEO of his company, it seemed everyone was shocked -- shocked -- at this singularly egregious injustice.

However, in reality, what happened to Brendan Eich -- widely denounced as "fascist," "totalitarian," "mafia"-like and "gestapo"-like -- is not only not unusual in today’s America, it has become a routine and disgraceful part of the normal warp and weft of our daily lives . . . .

Homosexual Movement’s Push for Adult-Child Sex

By Rick Pearcey • April 29, 2014, 11:39 AM

"Shocking allegations by former child actor Michael Egan against openly 'gay' X-Men director and producer Bryan Singer have stunned Hollywood into relative silence. I say 'relative silence' because, unless he’s a Catholic priest, the relativist left’s false narrative is that a 'gay' man is always the victim and never the victimizer," Matt Barber writes.

"Nonetheless, this latest episode has once again shined the spotlight on the long-established link between the homosexual lifestyle/movement and pedophilia -- a link that, despite 'progressive' denials to the contrary, is hiding in plain sight," says Barber.

"Long-Trusted" Christian Publisher Planning Pro-Homosexual Book

By Rick Pearcey • April 14, 2014, 11:00 AM

Matt Barber writes at Barbwire:

WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group is planning to release, through its liberal imprint Convergent Books, a manuscript titled God and the Gay Christian: The Biblical Case in Support of Same-Sex Relationships.

Is the Christian world about to suffer through another World Vision moment?

The book’s author, Matthew Vines is a homosexual activist and Bible revisionist known for manipulating Christian terminology to advance the counter-Christian homosexualist agenda.

Despite his frequent use of a Christian-like lexicon, Vines surprisingly admits to running an apostate enterprise that he calls The Reformation Project.

"An unabashed denier of Biblical teaching on sexual morality, Vines has publicly acknowledged that his goal is to 'reform church teaching on sexual orientation and gender identity'," Barber writes. "The book is scheduled to be published on April 22, 2014."

If I may, here is another title Multnomah might consider publishing: God and Atheism: The Biblical Case in Support of the Non-Existence of Yahweh.

There is no doubt a twenty-something author out there willing to assert that when the Bible says, "The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God'" (Psalm 14:1), what is being given is culturally conditioned by ancient thought-forms in a temporal milieu shaped by the struggle for human liberation and survival against a plethora of gods and goddesses evoked by privileged elites of wealth and power.

Further study of the living text reveals what it actually means is: "The wise man says in his heart, 'There is no God.'"

Thus is achieved a "third way" of church reformation that transcends old dichotomies of existence and non-existence. Thus, the Bible liberates human beings from all idolatry! How cool and affirming is that! I mean, how can there be idolatry is there are no gods whatsoever?

O the joy that "honors scripture" and "those who are different." And O the wonder of being released from the shadows of idolatry!

On the other hand, April 22, 2014, may go down in Multnomah history as the date marking the decline and fall of a once-trusted Christian publisher. Time, and the choices people make in the next days and weeks, will tell. Meanwhile, intelligence revolts.

Italian Parents Push Back Against "Gender Deconstruction" in Schools

By Rick Pearcey • April 8, 2014, 11:23 AM

Hilary White reports at LifeSiteNews.com:

This week, a group of parents told the city administration in the small Tuscan town of Pontassieve that they would not go along with the introduction of the homosexualist "gender" ideology in their schools.

The parents addressed the proposed "ECOS -- Deconstructing to Build" program that aims to "help eliminate the stereotypes associated with gender." Parents quoted the Italian Constitution and the European Convention on Human Rights that say in the area of public education, the state "must respect the right of parents to ensure such education and teaching is in conformity with their own religious and philosophical convictions." The school, they said, "must not invade the field of education within the family."

The parents said, "The appropriate and necessary fight against bullying and all forms of discrimination cannot be manipulated by anyone or used to spread messages of other kinds, such as the affirmation of gender identity."

"While a project to make 'diversity education' standard throughout Italy’s schools has been successfully blocked in Parliament, the same work is proceeding at the municipal level," White reports. "It was recently blasted by the Archbishop of Turin who called it an attempt to turn local schools into 're-education camps' for the extreme left."

LifeSiteNews also reports that, "at the same time, a set of government guidelines instructs journalists never to portray homosexuals or 'transsexuals' in a negative light. The document, created according to a mandate by the Council of Europe, threatens journalists with unnamed 'professional sanctions' and even possible jail time for failing to comply."

Pink Is the New Brown: Mozilla, Homofascism, and the Pink Swastika

By Rick Pearcey • April 7, 2014, 11:43 AM

Attorney and author Scott Lively writes at BarbWire:

The cover-up of the homosexual roots of Nazism is one of, if not the greatest, feat of historical revisionism the world has ever seen. The sheer volume of documentation that has been suppressed to protect the homosexual movement from its own past is staggering.

Kevin [Abrams] and I are now working on the fifth edition of The Pink Swastika, a slow process, because, believe it or not, there is still such an enormous volume of additional material that our researchers have uncovered. I am methodically working (in my spare time) through a three-foot stack of photocopied pages from at least 200 new sources. The fifth edition may be over 500 pages long by the time we get finished with it.

Importantly, and alarmingly, The Pink Swastika’s claims linking homosexuality with fascism are also being proven by the emergence of a form of homo-fascism in our own society. The forced resignation of Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich is the latest example, but there are many in recent years. "Gay" bullies have become the new Brownshirts (just as they were the original Brownshirts).

Lively concludes: "History never repeats identically, there are always variations colored by culture of the day. The cultural color of Nazi Germany was brown, but in millennial America pink is the new brown."

Furor at Catholic High School After Nun Presents Church Teaching on Homosexuality

By Rick Pearcey • April 3, 2014, 11:21 AM

Kirsten Andersen reports at LifeSiteNews:

A North Carolina Roman Catholic school [held a meeting April 2] to address the concerns of parents and students who say they are outraged about remarks a visiting nun made criticizing homosexuality, divorce, and sex outside of marriage during a recent speech.

Dominican Sister Jane Dominic Laurel, who often speaks to high school and college-age students on matters of sexuality, gave an hour-long presentation to students at Charlotte Catholic High School on March 21 called "Masculinity and Femininity: Difference and Gift." School officials told the Catholic News Herald she spent about half her allotted time discussing homosexuality, blaming its rising influence in part on fatherless homes created by divorce and extramarital sex. . . .

Although the Catholic Church has always held both homosexual behavior and sex outside of marriage to be gravely sinful, students and parents at the Catholic school reacted to her remarks with shock and anger, launching both an online petition and a letter-writing campaign calling the sister’s words "offensive and unnecessarily derogatory."

"Not all students were upset by the nun’s presentation," LifeSiteNews reports. "A group of students who adhere to Catholic teaching on sexuality have launched a counter-petition condemning the protesters’ actions. 'We are outraged that the topics talked about are being debated within a community where the shared faith teaches us what truly is holy and that anyone would stand up against a nun, who has given her life for the Lord, and blantly [sic] deny God's teachings,' the petition reads."

Legal Expert Calls for Mozilla Boycott After CEO Apologizes for Backing Marriage

By Rick Pearcey • April 1, 2014, 11:38 AM

Thaddeus Baklinski reports at LifeSiteNews:

A noted Catholic academic and leading marriage defender is calling for a boycott of tech company Mozilla after homosexualist pressure from inside and outside the company led newly-appointed CEO Brendan Eich to apologize for previously supporting true marriage and pledge his "active commitment to equality."

Eich had contributed $1,000 in 2008 to support California’s Proposition 8, a ballot initiative that opposed same-sex "marriage."

"The employees of Mozilla evidently think that people like me, and perhaps you, are not morally fit to be employees of their company," wrote Dr. Robert P. George, a Princeton University professor of jurisprudence, whom the NY Times called America’s "most influential conservative Christian thinker."

"I have just deleted Mozilla Firefox from my computer," writes Dr. George, according to LifeSiteNews. "If I'm not morally fit to be their employee, I'm not morally fit to use their products."

World Vision Homosex "Marriage" Fiasco: Is an Apology Enough?

By Rick Pearcey • March 28, 2014, 09:09 AM

Here are a few responses to World Vision's reversal of its "decision to hire 'married' homosexuals."

In "World Vision Withdraws From the Brink," Mark Tooley at American Spectator writes, "Kudos to World Vision for relatively quickly rediscovering its doctrinal and intestinal fortitude. . . . Groups like World Vision will need double doses of such warming fortitude in the cold, secularist Winter ahead."

Not so fast, writes Bryan Fischer in an article titled "An Apology Is Not Enough -- World Vision Needs to Clean House," published at BarbWire. "This is not the end of testing for World Vision but the beginning," Fischer writes. "They had better make sure they have leaders who are up to the task. Right now, they don’t."

Also, I stated on Facebook: "The mere fact that World Vision has people in leadership anywhere close to thinking in this manner raises significant questions about the group's understanding, ethos, staffing, and direction."

In addition:

Whether with prodigals or with organizations, forgiveness and long-suffering are always in order. Legitimate concerns about forgiveness, etc., are issues separate from what should or should not happen structurally at a place such as World Vision in the aftermath of such a debacle.

As for "guts" and "showing fidelity," etc., there are other explanations that account for their quick reversal. The threat of massive donor pullout, for example. . . .

I, for one, would prefer a leadership who have demonstrated an understanding that the Lordship of Christ applies holistically across all of life -- to content and to methods.

Being clueless about the issue of marriage in the face of today's cultural breakdown is stunning, to say the least.

"A loss of funding may be the least of the organization's problems," I concluded earlier in Pro-Existence.

Palin Celebrates "Duck Dynasty" at CPAC: "We Pushed Back and We Won"

By Rick Pearcey • March 10, 2014, 08:43 AM

"Sarah Palin left no stone unturned" during her CPAC keynote address last weekend, writes Jennifer Burke at TPNN, "even addressing the victory
. . . in the case of Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson vs. the anti-Christian and politically correct police from the left. In doing so, she exposed the hypocrisy of the left."

Burke quotes from Palin's remarks:

They claim to want tolerance and open debate. But their goal is to shut anyone up who doesn’t toe their line.

Phil Robertson, our buddy from Duck Dynasty. Here’s Phil talking about faith with a reporter from GQ. (First mistake) In between saying he loves humanity, he loves all sinners and leave it to God to judge, he quoted the Bible. He got colorful in expressing his opinion.

They fired the devout Christian for expressing his devout Christian views on a television show about his devout Christian family because nothing is ever wrong on cable TV.

In another time, Phil might have stayed fired. But not this time. People all over America knew that Phil’s right to express himself was our right. We pushed back and we won. And now everyone is happy, happy, happy.

Pink Jackboots: Opposing the Rising Tide of Homosexual Intolerance

By Rick Pearcey • March 7, 2014, 08:38 AM

E.W. Jackson, Sr., writes at the Washington Times:

As a descendant of slaves, I have a deep aversion to discrimination. It is born of the suffering of my ancestors because of their race. Nonetheless, homosexual behavior cannot be compared with the color of one’s skin, no matter how vigorously elites try to conflate them. . . .

Christians are not denying homosexuals entrance into their establishments, directing them to a special gay section in the back of the store or telling them to go to the back door. That is what Jim Crow laws did to Americans of African descent. Therefore, the comparison is disrespectful and needs to stop
. . . .

"Until now, America has honored freedom of conscience," Jackson continues. "That is what distinguishes us from authoritarian and dictatorial countries."

Jackson concludes: "Many Christians have been martyred for refusing to bow to human authority, which places itself above God. Therefore, in spite of liberals and homosexual activists slanderously likening our stand to slavery and Jim Crow, we will continue to love them and, at the same time, oppose their efforts to make us bow to same-sex marriage.

"In the past, standing up for the truth of God’s word has cost Christians their jobs, businesses, reputations and even their lives. It may come to that again, but we will never be silent, and we will not bow."

Convicted Terrorist Worked as Obamacare Navigator in Illinois

By Rick Pearcey • February 28, 2014, 09:32 AM

Jillian Kay Melchior writes at National Review:

A terrorist from Jordan briefly worked as an Obamacare navigator in Illinois while authorities remained unaware of her conviction for involvement in a deadly grocery store bombing and two other attacks.

Rasmieh Yousef Odeh was convicted in Israel for her role in several bombings, including the 1969 attack on an upscale Shufersol grocery store, which killed two Hebrew University students who had stopped in to buy groceries for a hiking trip in the Jerusalem hills. Leon Kanner and Eddie Joffe were killed by a bomb hidden in a candy box tucked on a shelf, which also injured nine or 10 others, according to a website maintained by the Israeli government to commemorate terror victims.

The Illinois Department of Insurance quietly revoked Odeh’s certification as a Navigator In-Person Counselor on November 24, explaining in a disciplinary report that the decision was "based on an investigation which revealed that she had been convicted in Israel for her role in the bombings of a supermarket and the British Consulate in Jerusalem and failed to reveal the conviction on her application."

One wonders what other terrorists, convicted or otherwise, are trolling in the shadows of Obamacare.

But let's not go overboard, here.

As long as Christians are forced to submit to homosexualist desires in Arizona, the motherland shouldn't experience too many speedbumps on the way to Obama's fundamentally transformed nation formerly known as America.

Sad Story of "Gay" Footballer Michael Sam

By Rick Pearcey • February 10, 2014, 12:02 PM

Missouri All-American Michael Sam says he is a homosexual, which means the "defensive end could become the first openly homosexual player in the NFL," AP reports.

"We admire Michael Sam's honesty and courage," the NFL said in statement, according to AP.

Perhaps not so admirable is that homosexuality disrespects the human body and that its disciples are enabling a political ideology that opens the door to unlimited statism

And there might be one or two health concerns.

Fanatics needn't bother about any of this, of course, because reality will bend to their religious desires. By "religious," I mean the word in the dumbed-down secular usage of "faith" that is uninterested in facts or in careful evaluation.

Free-thinkers, however, follow the evidence. Even in the face of that oh-so-dreaded peer pressure that substitutes for ethics these days.

Intelligence revolts.

Will "Duck Dynasty" Controversy Awaken Americans to Homofascist Juggernaut?

By Rick Pearcey • January 8, 2014, 11:20 AM

The following statement is released by Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays:

The gay bullying and intimidation deployed against Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson is nothing new to the ex-gay community.

For too long in this country, gay rights organizations have incorporated ex-gay bashing as an integral part of their mission. Christian ex-gays are ridiculed for their faith, while people seeking therapy for unwanted same-sex attractions are painted as dangerously delusional.

On this one-way street of intolerance, former homosexuals are accused of being liars or fakes while transgenders are celebrated for changing their gender identity.

Using their political power and mainstream media support, gay activists work to keep ex-gays in the closet while demanding legal recognition of single-sex marriage as an equal right.

This well-organized and heavily-funded bullying of former homosexuals and ex-gay speech is known by the ex-gay community as "homofascism."

Like Phil Robertson, ex-gays are subjected to demands that they apologize for their existence and views. For gay "civil rights" groups, it seems that no worse sin exists than renouncing one’s own homosexuality.

For this cardinal offense, ex-gays and their supporters have to endure retaliation, public humiliation and economic loss unless they submit to public repentance, otherwise known as a gay "teaching opportunity."

Now we see that straights like Phil Robertson and his Christian family are also being subjected to homofascism.

Under homofascism, Mr. Robertson and ex-gays are expected to publicly atone, become enlightened, and proclaim that homosexual sex is normal, natural and healthy, despite medical facts to the contrary, their own personal religious beliefs, and an escalating AIDS rate among male homosexuals.

Anyone deviating from this sacramental belief is treated as a heretic, to be bullied into submission or censorship.

Those individuals who no longer want to act out homosexually, including minors who have been molested by a same-sex adult, are treated like the lepers in the Bible. They are seen as a dangerous threat to society, and their attempts to seek therapeutic help must be outlawed.

Is bullying and persecution a gay civil right? No, it’s not; homofascism is wrong.

Unless we stop it now as was accomplished with the Duck Dynasty backlash, homofascism will spread to persecute anyone who dares to disagree with the gay lobby, regardless if you live in Manhattan or the woods of Louisiana -- no one will be spared.

When irrational fears of male-female heterosexuality instigate demands for public censorship and obedience to the gay lobby, silence is not an option.

All who call themselves Christians must speak out against injustice and homofascism. Otherwise, we will lose America -- and our souls.

Supreme Court Halts Homosex "Marriage" in Utah

By Rick Pearcey • January 7, 2014, 08:55 AM

Dustin Siggins reports at LifeSiteNews.com:

In a shock to homosexual activists, the Supreme Court halted all same-sex "marriages" in Utah on Monday morning.

The state began handing out marriage licenses to same-sex couples last month after Judge Robert Shelby's ruling that Utah's voter-approved constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman violates the U.S. Constitution. However, last week, Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes asked the Supreme Court to "stay" Judge Shelby's decision until the state's appeal makes its way through the courts.

"The decision by a single federal judge to redefine marriage in Utah is lawless," said National Organization for Marriage president Brian Brown in a statement released yesterday. NOM is "pleased that the Supreme Court has put this decision on hold to allow the state to appeal it in an orderly fashion."

"If Shelby's decision is upheld, that would make Utah the ninth state where gay 'marriage' has been legalized by judicial decree, out of the 18 states that recognize such unions," according to LifeSiteNews. "Voters in the majority-Mormon state voted to uphold traditional marriage in 2004."

"Duck Dynasty" Fans Plan "Chick-Phil-A" Appreciation Day

By Rick Pearcey • December 28, 2013, 08:21 AM

"Diehard fans of the A&E show 'Duck Dynasty' are planning to show their loyalty by holding a Phil Robertson appreciation day at Chick-fil-A franchises nationwide on Jan. 21," Fox News reports.

"According to the Chick-Phil-A Day Facebook page, Robertson supporters are encouraged to wear 'Duck Commander or camouflage gear' to their local Chick-fil-A to 'stand for free speech' and 'sit for good food'," Fox News states.

"The event already has over 24,000 likes and nearly 60,000 listed attendees since its creation on Dec. 20," Fox reports.

Yesterday, A&E released an announcement stating that the network has decided to "resume filming . . . with the entire Robertson family."

A&E Statement on Phil Robertson, "Duck Dynasty": "Resume Filming . . . With the Entire Roberston Family"

By Rick Pearcey • December 28, 2013, 07:50 AM

The following statement from the Arts and Entertainment Network was published yesterday at The Hollywood Reporter:

As a global media content company, A+E Networks' core values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect. We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into people's homes, and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principles.

That is why we reacted so quickly and strongly to a recent interview with Phil Robertson. While Phil's comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the "coarse language" he used and the misinterpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would "never incite or encourage hate." We at A+E Networks expressed our disappointment with his statements in the article and reiterate that they are not views we hold.

But Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man's views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family . . . a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness. These are three values that we at A+E Networks also feel strongly about.

So after discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.

We will also use this moment to launch a national public service campaign (PSA) promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people, a message that supports our core values as a company and the values found in Duck Dynasty. These PSAs will air across our entire portfolio.

Duck Flap: Truth Is "Hate" to Those Who Hate Truth

By Rick Pearcey • December 23, 2013, 12:36 PM

The following column is by Professor of Law J. Matt Barber:

As widely reported, Phil Robertson, the patriarch in A&E’s breakaway hit "Duck Dynasty," recently ran a-fowl of homosexual pressure groups, ruffling "progressive" feathers throughout concentrated pockets of deep blue America. He remains suspended "indefinitely" for candidly summarizing, in a recent interview with GQ Magazine, the millennia-long "Love the sinner, hate the sin" Biblical stance on homosexual practice.

"It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me," he bluntly opined. "I'm just thinking: There's more there! She's got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes!"

Dudes worldwide -- save self-styled "gays," Pajama Boy and a few liberal men actually rumored to be heterosexual -- responded: "Eww! I know, right."

"You know what I’m saying?" continued Robertson. "But hey, sin: It's not logical, my man. It's just not logical," he noted.

Robertson also addressed other sins, paraphrasing 1 Corinthians 6:9-10"Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers -- they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It's not right."

"I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me," he later added. "We are all created by the Almighty, and like Him, I love all of humanity."

Barring a handful of "progressive" revisionists, Christian theologians have since observed that, while Robertson's position on sexual sin is 100 percent Biblically, morally and biologically correct, it is, nonetheless, precisely 0 percent politically correct.

Furthermore, Robertson seems to have been quoting directly from the rare, though accurate, "Louisiana Revised Standard Living Translation."

Even so, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) was outraged. GLAAD spokesman Francis Twinklebean offered a scathing, though typically insightful, analysis of Robertson’s opinion: "Quack quack quack bigot," said Twinklebean. "Quack quack vile quack intolerance quack quack homophobia quack," he added, finally demanding: "A&E must fire Phil Robertson."

The "gay"-activist Human Rights Campaign (HRC) was no less distressed, as evidenced by HRC mouthpiece Randy Van Grindr: "The First Amendment? That’s so 1776," he said. "This is 2013. Speech isn’t free, you know. Intolerance will not be tolerated. Give us our pound of flesh! A&E must fire Phil Robertson."

A&E, which had already begun censoring the cast’s Christian speech with fake bleeps to cover words like Jesus and Christ, dutifully complied. "We’re just sick of all this redneck Jesusy stuff," A&E representative Moe Ronic told reporters. "And besides, making truckloads of money is really overrated," he added, referencing the show’s No. 1 all-time ranking.

"In fact," he continued, "just the other day I was sharing an Appletini with Bob, our program director, and he was pining for the good ol' days -- back when we had ratings like MSNBC's "Winter Solstice Generic Holiday Special."

"You know, more money means more work -- what, with the bookkeeping and all," he pointed out. "Most of us at A&E are actually quite excited to get back to the utter irrelevance and obscurity from whence we came."

Meanwhile, the Fox Network and a bevy of cable channels have reportedly lined up with drool bibs to pounce on the show should relations with A&E go deeper south.

A Fox source offered comment on condition of anonymity: "Remember that time someone disagreed with Christianity and got fired?" he asked. "Me neither. A&E needs the Robertsons more than they need A&E."

Still, questions remained as to who’s got it right on homosexuality; GLAAD, HRC and other "progressives," or Phil Robertson and Christianity. To get answers, we went straight to the Source: God, Author of all truth, sovereign Creator of the universe and Maker of mankind.

God said to relax. The issue has been long settled.

All sexual sin -– adultery, fornication, bestiality, incest and, yes, the practice of homosexuality -- is "contrary to sound doctrine," He noted unequivocally (1 Timothy 1:10). "Guys, when I said, 'You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination,' I meant it," He added (Leviticus 18:22).

The Creator then offered an urgent admonition to GLAAD, HRC, and others living under both sexual deception and the unrepentant homosexual lifestyle. He warned that unnatural behaviors beget natural consequences: "Because of this, [I] gave [you] over to shameful lusts. Even [you ladies] exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way [you fellas] also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. [You’ve] committed shameful acts with other men, and [have] received in [yourselves] the due penalty for [your] error" (Romans 1:26-27).

Still, being both wholly righteous and merciful beyond measure, The Heavenly Father then offered hope for homosexuals, as well as for every other sinner on the planet (that would be all of us). He was quick to point out that no one person is better than another, and that He loves us all, not because of our sins -– to include the "intrinsically disordered" homosexual identity and lifestyle -- but in spite of them. "None is righteous, no, not one," He said (Romans 3:10).

We are all lost and in need of the Savior, He further urged (especially yours truly), saying, with specific reference to homosexuality, adultery and other forms of sexual immorality: "And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by [My Spirit]" (1 Corinthians 6:11).

As untold thousands -– likely millions -– of former homosexuals will attest, through the unmatched grace of Christ, there can be freedom from all forms of bondage to sin -- even "LGBT" behavior.

Meanwhile, since the Duck flap hit, Jesus Himself has reportedly reached out to Phil Robertson with a Word of encouragement. He told him to keep fishing for souls and hunting for ducks. He said that Robertson shouldn’t sweat the small stuff -- like the ongoing assault for speaking truth in love.

"Phil," He said, "You will be hated by everyone because of me, but [if you] stand firm to the end, [you] will be saved" (Matthew 10:22).

"Oh, and by the way," Jesus added: "Well done my good and faithful servant."

Apple Approves Homosexual Meetup App for 12-Year-Olds

By Rick Pearcey • December 17, 2013, 09:25 AM

Kirsten Andersen reports at LifeSiteNews.com:

While previous homosexual dating apps like Grindr and Manhunt have been exclusively 18+ due to their focus on facilitating anonymous sexual encounters, Distinc.tt managed to win approval for users 12 and up by advertising itself as the “LGBT app that you can bring home to Mom.”

The app was intended to facilitate dating for people who are already out and about, but one commenter on a gay website warned that those who fail to disable the default tracking settings will constantly broadcast their location to other users even when they are at home.  That may concern parents of children who download the app, as predators could use the information to find vulnerable targets.

LifeSiteNews publishes the following contact information for Apple: Apple Inc., 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA 95014, (408)-996-1010.

Baker Says He’d Rather Go to Jail After Judge Orders Him to Service Homosex "Weddings"

By Rick Pearcey • December 12, 2013, 10:45 AM

Kirsten Andersen reports at LifeSiteNews.com:

A Denver cake baker who was ordered by a judge last week to service same-sex "weddings" or face punishing fines has told Fox News that he would rather shut down his business and serve jail time than violate his beliefs and play a role in facilitating gay nuptials.

Just as this baker should not be forced to accept counterfeit "money" for his services, neither should he be forced sell his services to facilitate counterfeit "marriage."

Refusing counterfeits is wise. Imposing counterfeits is tyranny. A free people revolts.

Alec Baldwin, Fired by MSNBC, Asks Why Not Martin Bashir?

By Rick Pearcey • November 27, 2013, 10:38 AM

Alec Baldwin's MSNBC show "Up Late" has been taken off the air for good, but the outspoken star notes that MSNBC host Martin Bashir remains on the cable news channel.

Baldwin came under fire for allegedly using a gay slur against a photographer on the street, while Bashir called for Republican tea party favorite Sarah Palin to be administered unprintable punishments from the days of slavery. Bashir's remarks were scripted and made it onto his program.

"Martin Bashir's on the air, and he made his comment on the air! I dispute half the comment I made," Baldwin told the Gothamist.

New South Wales Rejects Homosex "Marriage"

By Rick Pearcey • November 20, 2013, 10:46 AM

Thaddeus Baklinski reports at LifeSiteNews:

Members of the State Legislative Council of New South Wales, Australia voted earlier this week by a narrow margin of 21 to 19 to uphold the true meaning of marriage.

"It’s a no-brainer that we should have the right to marry, but I also think equally that it’s a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist," said lesbian and journalist Masha Gessen at the Syndey Writers Festival in June 2012.

"That causes my brain some trouble," Gessen went on to say. "And part of why it causes me trouble is because fighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we are going to do with marriage when we get there -- because we lie that the institution of marriage is not going to change, and that is a lie."

National Cathedral Leader: "Homophobia" a Sin; Cathedral Website: Homosex "Marriages" Will Be Performed

By Rick Pearcey • October 7, 2013, 03:15 PM

Penny Starr reports at CNSNews.com:

The Very Rev. Gary Hall, chief ecclesiastical leader and executive officer of the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., said in a sermon on Sunday that "homophobia" and "heterosexism" are sins.

"In its wisdom, the church came to its senses and labeled both racism and sexism as sinful," Hall said. "And now we find ourselves at the last barrier -- call that barrier homophobia, call it heterosexism."

"We must now have the courage to take the final step and call homophobia and heterosexism what they are," Hall said.

"They are sin."

"Homophobia is a sin," Hall said. "Heterosexism is a sin."

"Shaming people for whom they love is a sin," Hall said. "Shaming people because their gender identity doesn’t fit neatly into your sense of what it should be is a sin."

"On the National Cathedral’s website, under the Equality of Marriage banner’s FAQ section, it states the church will perform same-sex weddings following the law passed in the District of Columbia allowing same-sex marriage," according to CNSNews.

Homosex Activist to Ted Cruz Staffer: "May Your Children All Die"

By Rick Pearcey • September 20, 2013, 06:48 PM

Drew Zahn reports at WND:

When a speechwriter for Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, took to Twitter to tout her boss’ recent work, a California Democrat Party official blasted back, wishing death and "debilitating diseases" upon her children.

Amanda Carpenter [photo], a speechwriter and senior communications adviser to Cruz, tweeted out Friday morning, "GOP beat gun control, changed Obama’s mind on Syria, is holding the line on amnesty. We can defund Obamacare, too!"

But Allan Brauer [photo], who works as the communications chair for the Democratic Party of Sacramento County in California, fired back a shocking reply, "@amandacarpenter May your children all die from debilitating, painful and incurable diseases."

"It wasn’t the first time, however, that Brauer, a longtime activist in the homosexuality movement who co-chaired the University of Chicago’s Lesbian/Gay Student Organization in the 1970s, has used Twitter as an outlet for scathing, personal attacks," WND reports.

“Anarchaqueer? Proudly Destroys College 9/11 Memorial

By Rick Pearcey • September 17, 2013, 09:48 AM

Mark Tapson writes at Frontpagemag.com:

Last week at more than 200 colleges and high schools across the nation, students came together to arrange memorials on campus featuring thousands of flags representing each victim of Islamic terrorism on that date.

Who could find that gesture offensive?

Five student protesters at Middlebury College in Vermont, brainwashed by multiculturalist nonsense, that’s who.

For an exploration into the "mind" of an "'anarchaqueer' who 'hates the police' and whose goal is to 'dismantle all systems of oppression,'" and who "decided to respect the massacred dead by dismantling a 9/11 memorial respectful of massacred Americans," read Tapscott's column here.

"Remember," Tapscott concludes, "this is a woman ["queer" Amanda Lickers, photo] who was invited to facilitate a workshop on settler responsibility and decolonization on campus, so there are students at Middlebury supportive enough of her radical multiculturalism to attend a workshop and at least one person there -- a professor or administrator -- with the authority to invite her. Hopefully her vandalism and subsequent unhinged statement will give them second thoughts about asking her back."

Human Rights Groups Support Russian Law Protecting Children From Homosexualist Propaganda

By Rick Pearcey • August 30, 2013, 12:51 PM

Stefano Gennarini writes at C-Fam.org:

Human Rights Organizations from around the world are supporting Russia’s effort to protect children from homosexual propaganda.

A statement from civil society affirms the recently enacted Russian law, which imposes fines on individuals and groups that promote homosexuality among minors, as important steps towards fulfilling international obligations towards the family and minors.

"Organizations from around the world are 'rushing' to offer their support, according to Profesionales por la Etica, the Spain-based organization coordinating the effort. In just one week 71 organizations have offered their support," Gennarini writes.

"Russia is protecting 'genuine and universally recognized human rights against artificial and fabricated false values' like sexual orientation and gender identity, according to the statement" from Profesionales por la Etica, Gennarini continues.

"The statement recognizes the Russian law as an effort to protect the family, the fundamental group unit of society. The law is about protecting the 'innocence of children' and the 'rights of parents,'" according to Gennarini.

"While critics of the Russian law claim it violates the human rights of homosexuals, they find it difficult to address to the stated reason for enacting the laws, namely the negative health consequences of homosexual activity, Gennarini observes.

For example, "the Lancet reported last summer that homosexuals are 18 times more likely to contract HIV than heterosexuals, due to a combination of biological and behavioral risks associated with homosexual activity," Gennarini writes. "Moreover, HIV is receding in most of the world, except among homosexual populations where it is skyrocketing. Homosexuals are also at higher risk for substance abuse, suicide, and depression."

Homosexual Lawmaker to Parents -- We'll Take Your Children

By Rick Pearcey • August 28, 2013, 06:56 AM

Columnist and lawyer Matt Barber writes:

Few people doubt that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie hopes to become president in 2016. Unfortunately for him, he may have just signed away any chance of that.

On Monday, [August 19,] Christie signed A3371, a draconian piece of legislation that bars licensed therapists from helping children overcome unwanted same-sex attractions, behavior or identity. This law bans help for minors even when -- as is so often the case -- those same-sex attractions arise from childhood sexual abuse by the likes of a Jerry Sandusky.

This law will prohibit minors and their parents from receiving counseling they desire and will force counselors to violate ethical codes because they will not be able to help clients reach their own counseling goals. This law would enslave children -- whether abused or not -- to a subjectively determined sexual identity that they reject.

The connection between homosexual abuse and "gay identity" is undeniable. Consider this: Researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have found that homosexual men are "at least three times more likely to report CSA (childhood sexual abuse)" than heterosexual men.

Moreover, the Archives of Sexual Behavior -- no bastion of conservatism -- determined in a 2001 study that nearly half of all gay-identified men were molested by a homosexual pedophile: "46 percent of homosexual men and 22 percent of homosexual women reported having been molested by a person of the same gender. This contrasts to only 7 percent of heterosexual men and 1 percent of heterosexual women reporting having been molested by a person of the same gender," noted the study.

For obvious reasons, this politically motivated law has been dubbed the "Jerry Sandusky Victimization Act." Liberty Counsel, one of the fastest growing civil rights law firms in the country, has stepped in to protect New Jersey children, parents, and licensed therapists. We’ve filed suit to block the law, as we’ve already blocked a similar law in California.

In his signing statement, Gov. Christie wrote: "Government should tread carefully into this area and I do so here reluctantly. I have scrutinized this piece of legislation with that concern in mind. However, I also believe that on issues of medical treatment for children we must look to experts in the field to determine the relative risks and rewards."

Beyond the fact that Christie and the New Jersey Legislature have just violated the First Amendment rights of New Jersey parents, children, and counselors, there remains another problem with his assertion. It’s not true. As with any form of therapy, the "experts" are all over the board on the issue of change therapy.

For instance, both New Jersey Democrats and Christie cited the American Psychological Association, or APA, as justification for this gross infringement on the right of self-determination. Although, no doubt, the highly liberal APA supports this and similar Sandusky Laws for political reasons, the group’s own task force on change therapy -- led entirely by members who themselves are "gay"-identified or known political activists -- has had to admit, nonetheless, that homosexuality itself "refers to feelings and self-concept."

The taskforce confessed that such therapy has shown "varying degrees of satisfaction and varying perceptions of success." It acknowledged within its own skewed, very limited "study" that some people had "altered their sexual orientation. . . . [P]articipants had multiple endpoints, including LGB identity, ex-gay identity, no sexual orientation identity, and a unique self-identity. . . . Individuals report a range of effects from their efforts to change their sexual orientation, including both benefits and harm."

Reports of "both benefits and harm"? Exactly what might be expected from any form of therapy.

But that’s for adults. Here’s the kicker: The APA also acknowledged that there is no evidence whatsoever that change therapy harms minors. Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, addressed this, the most outrageous aspect of the law: "The very report that the governor cited for signing this law also admitted that there is absolutely zero research -- none -- regarding the effect of change therapy with minors."

Get that? Gov. Christie just signed into law a bill purporting to prevent harm to minors from change therapy, citing, as the reason, an APA report that admits there is neither research nor empirical evidence to suggest that change therapy harms minors.

Is your head swimming? It should be.

The governor is one of three things. He is either: 1) ill-informed, 2) politically motivated, or 3) stupid.

I don’t know, I guess he could be 4) all of the above.

Meanwhile, there are many experts outraged over this gross overreach by Christie and other New Jersey liberals. Dr. Nicholas Cummings, former president of the APA, wrote in USA Today: "Contending that all same-sex attraction is immutable is a distortion of reality. Attempting to characterize all sexual reorientation therapy as 'unethical' violates patient choice and gives an outside party a veto over patients' goals for their own treatment. A political agenda shouldn’t prevent gays and lesbians who desire to change from making their own decisions."

Dr. Cummings has testified to personally helping hundreds of formerly homosexual clients achieve the change they desired.

Things get more sinister yet.

On Wednesday, New Jersey Assemblyman Tim Eustace, who sponsored the bill and is openly homosexual, bombastically compared change therapy to "beating a child" and suggested that the government take children seeking change away from their parents. He told Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, "What this does is prevent things that are harmful to people. If a parent were beating their child on a regular basis we would step in and remove that child from the house. If you pay somebody to beat your child or abuse your child, what’s the difference?"

Mat Staver responded on the same program: "It is shocking to hear the law’s sponsor threaten parents that the state will remove their children from them if they provide the counsel they need and which helps them. This is the ultimate nanny state," he said.

I’ll take it a step further, and I think I speak for many Christian fathers. None of my three children suffer from unwanted same-sex attraction, but if any of them did and they decided to seek change therapy to reconcile their feelings with their faith, Mr. Eustace and the rest of his Gaystapo would be extremely ill-advised to crest my front porch with designs on taking my children.

Is this George Washington’s America, or Joseph Stalin’s Russia?

"Gay" Human Rights Commissioner to Evangelical Pastor: You and Your Family "Deserve to Burn in Hell"

By Rick Pearcey • July 24, 2013, 12:33 PM

Kirsten Andersen reports at LifeSiteNews:

An Evangelical pastor in Sioux City is requesting the removal of a newly-appointed member of the city’s Human Rights Commission because of hateful and threatening comments the official posted to the pastor’s Facebook page in 2010.

Pastor Cary Gordon of Cornerstone World Outreach says that Human Rights Commissioner Scott Raasch, who is homosexual, wrote on Facebook that because Gordon had encouraged voters to toss out three Supreme Court judges whose court order made same-sex "marriage" legal in Iowa, he was a "hater" and a "bigot" and that he should "burn in hell" along with his entire family.

"I advocated for the removal of our state supreme court judges in 2010, because they violated their oaths of office while pretending to be lawmakers, forcing gay 'marriage' on our state," Gordon recounted in a blog post. "Thankfully, a significant majority of Iowa citizens agreed with my advocacy for the rule of law and the restricted jurisdiction of judges and responded by firing the 3 who were up for the Iowa retention vote."

The pastor argues that a "man who gives 'death wishes' to a local pastor's wife and children at Christmas guarantees an atmosphere where prosecutorial powers of the HRC are likely to become abusive and threatening to people of faith in Sioux City."

Says Gordon, "Let's hope our City Council will do the right thing and remove Scott Raasch from this unmerited position of authority posthaste."

GLAAD Silent on Trayvon Martin "Gay" Panic Revelation

By Rick Pearcey • July 17, 2013, 12:08 PM

Patrick Howley reports at the Daily Caller:

The gay-rights advocacy group GLAAD has yet to respond to new revelations that Trayvon Martin may have been under the impression that George Zimmerman was a "gay rapist" at the time of their tragic fistfight.

"And people need to understand, he didn’t want that creepy a-- cracker going to his father or girlfriend’s house to go get -- mind you, his little brother was there. You know -- now, mind you, I told you -- I told Trayvon it might have been a rapist,” Jeantel told CNN host Piers Morgan.

"Jeantel made clear that she was not referring to general fears of a neighborhood rapist but specifically to the sexual orientation of men who are 'that kind of way'," the DC reports. "Morgan, the low-rated British replacement for beloved talker Larry King, declined to draw her out on the point."

"Definitely after I say may be a rapist, for every boy, for every man, every -- who’s not that kind of way, seeing a grown man following them, would they be creep out?," Jeantel is quoted as saying.

The DC notes that "GLAAD did not return a Daily Caller request for comment."

This is despite GLAAD's having "spoken out against the 'gay panic' defense used by defendants accused of violent acts against people they perceive to be gay," the Daily Caller reports.

Bishop: Catholic Mom Murdered by Homosexual "Died a Martyr for Her Faith"

By Rick Pearcey • July 15, 2013, 01:23 PM

Michael Chapman reports at CNSNews.com:

A Catholic mother who was brutally murdered by a gay man because she challenged him about his homosexual lifestyle "died as a martyr for her faith," according to Bishop Thomas Paprocki, head of the Catholic diocese in Springfield, Ill., who also said the woman’s "murder was widely ignored by the media," apparently for political reasons.

The woman, Mary Stachowicz, a 51-year-old mother of four children and devout Catholic, was beaten, stabbed, raped, and strangled to death by then-19-year-old Nicholas Gutierrez on Nov. 13, 2002. He then wrapped her body in plastic and stuffed it under the floorboards of his apartment. After his arrest, Guttierrez gave a videotaped statement to police saying "he attacked Stachowicz after she confronted him for being a homosexual," reported the Chicago Tribune.

Christian-Based Program Forms as Alternative to Intolerant Boy Scouts

By Rick Pearcey • July 11, 2013, 11:47 AM

Andrea Billups reports at Newsmax:

A coalition of youth groups is creating a national organization for boys as an alternative to the Boy Scouts of America, following the Boy Scouts' decision to allow openly gay members to join, the Washington Examiner reported.

The new organization will officially launch on Jan. 1, 2014, but will begin chartering new units around the country in November, according to a statement released Tuesday by the as-yet-unnamed group's interim executive director, Rob Green of Spartanburg, S.C.

Now that the Boy Scouts have caved to homosexualist hatred against the "laws of nature and of nature's God," and thereby now embrace discrimination against the verifiable Creator's norms for liberating human sexuality, marriage, and family living, courageous folks are stepping up provide a positive, life-affirming alternative.

Human beings are called to excellence in every area of life, and it is terrific to see people reject apathy and instead create new alternatives to the relativism and pretended absolutes that homosexualists are trying to impose upon society. Intelligence revolts.

Rand Paul: Marriage Not a Defining Issue

By Rick Pearcey • June 28, 2013, 09:45 AM

Kirsten Andersen reports at LifeSiteNews:

Senator Rand Paul told ABC News on Wednesday that he agreed with the Supreme Court decision striking down a key portion of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) on the grounds that he believes marriage should be regulated by states, not the federal government. He praised the author of the decision, Justice Anthony Kennedy, for trying to "keep up with opinion" on the issue and said that members of the Republican Party would have to "agree to disagree" on the definition of marriage.

Paul, who is widely expected to be a top contender for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, said that he felt Justice Kennedy's majority opinion "tried to strike a balance" and praised Kennedy as "someone who doesn’t just want to be in front of opinion but wants government to keep up with opinion. . . .

"As a country, we can agree to disagree," said Paul.

Sen. Paul’s spokesman, Doug Stafford told LifeSiteNews.com on Thursday that, while Paul personally believes in "traditional marriage between one man and one woman," he also "believes the issue is a state issue and not a federal one."

Rand Paul is wrong on this. Marriage is not a personal issue about which one may disagree or about which the nation can agree to disagree.

Rather, the verifiable Creator has given objective publicly actionable information regarding the pre-government ontic status of marriage, and neither Rand Paul, the individual states, nor the federal government has the authority to alter this unalienable institution of society, which is also an ontic fact of life. This I assert not religiously as a matter of private belief (which is the false secular dumbed-down notion of "faith") but rather humanly and Biblically as a matter of fact grounded in the real world, just as the avant-garde Founders moved forward on the basis of the publicly actionable verifiable truth communicated by the Creator (see, for example, the Declaration of Independence).

Of course, through sheer power, human beings can try to redefine marriage. But the reality of marriage per se does not change just because arrogant human beings ascribe to themselves the authority of Deity or the power to alter the liberating constants of the universe.

Societies indeed can transform themselves by "reimagining" the definition of marriage. But then those societies are ripe for social disintegration and massive governmental control to avoid total collapse. Slavery seems a high price to buy the extremist line about "marriage equality."

When I liberate a plant from soil, it dies. A nation liberated from the soil of freedom can look alive for a while, but it dies, too. Of course, extremists can agitate for such "liberation" in the name of any number of issues, including "marriage equality," but the trajectory and unfortunate outcome remain the same.

Rand Paul has harmed his chances to win the 2016 GOP nomination for president. Americans who desire a full-bodied advance on the basis of the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights would do well to press Paul on this matter -- and simultaneously to look elsewhere for more sure champions of human freedom and dignity.

ABC News Fails to Find "Homophobes" in Texas

By Nancy Pearcey • June 24, 2013, 09:32 AM

John Nolte at Breitbart writes about an attempted setup in Amarillo:

ABC News displays its own kind of bigotry by setting up their hidden cameras at a famous steakhouse in Amarillo, Texas, to hunt for homophobes.

Three child actors dressed as Boy Scouts sit at a community table. One comes out to his friends as gay, and ABC News is there to capture the Southern-fried bigotry. . . .

"If anchor John Quinones had even a hint of moral courage, he would turn that hidden camera on his colleagues who work in the powerful world of media. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see what the media would do in certain situations involving conservatives, Christianity, Barack Obama, oh, and Southerners?," Nolte observes. "But Quinones isn't about afflicting the comfortable; he is a bullying cultural enforcer targeting the powerless."

Exxon Says No to Homosexualist Aggression

By Rick Pearcey • June 3, 2013, 10:39 AM

Thaddeus Balinski reports at LifeSiteNews.com:

At its annual shareholder meeting this week, the world's largest oil company, ExxonMobil, rejected a proposal demanding changes to its Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policy that would have granted special rights to homosexual employees.

The proposal, voted down by 81 percent of ExxonMobil's shareholders on May 30 read, "The Shareholders request that ExxonMobil amend its written equal employment opportunity policy to explicitly prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity and to substantially implement the policy."

"This vote marks the 14th year in a row that the company has refused to cave in to the demands of gay activists for special rights for homosexuals," LifeSiteNews reports. "ExxonMobil said it already prohibits 'all forms of discrimination' and 'believes the proposal is unnecessary'."

In point of fact, saying "no" to homosexualist aggression against the verifiable Creator's liberating and protective norms for human sexuality and married life is not discrimination, but rather, sanity and a mark of intelligence.

In addition, civil rights that are real civil rights are rooted in the same Creator who is the source of unalienable human rights, a source that the defining mainstream of American form and freedom has long respected (see the Declaration of Independence).

Any "civil right" that is alienated from the Author of unalienable human rights is actually an attack on human freedom and human dignity. Such attacks may use the language of rights, but they in fact reject the true basis of those rights. The result is relativism and statism, not human freedom and dignity.

Exxon is to be commended for wanting to be a good corporate citizen -- and to do so, it needs intentionally to base its practice of good corporate citizenship upon the only known adequate foundation for human rights and human dignity. That happens to be the Creator (who is verifable and not a matter of blind faith) and not the state or any particular activist group or agenda that depises and discriminates against that self-same Creator and against those who respect a life of love and truth in community with God and man.

Brazilians Fight Back as Regulatory Agency Tries to Impose Homosex "Marriage" on Entire Country

By Rick Pearcey • May 17, 2013, 10:19 AM

LifeSiteNews.com reports:

Brazilian pro-family politicians have announced that they will fight a decree issued by the country’s National Council of Justice (CNJ) that orders all of Brazil’s registrars to accept applications for homosexual "marriage" and threatens them with legal action if they refuse.

The decree, which was issued on May 14, claims to implement a 2011 decision by the country’s Supreme Federal Tribunal, which ruled that homosexual unions are eligible to be registered as "stable unions," similar to common-law marriages in Anglophone countries.

However, parliamentarians from the Social Christian Party and other pro-family representatives are crying foul, pointing out that the Tribunal’s decision does not mention "marriage." They say they intend to file suit with the Tribunal against the CNJ to nullify the decree.

Stimulus: $152K to Get Lesbians Ready for "Adoptive Parenthood"

By Rick Pearcey • May 16, 2013, 09:23 AM

Elizabeth Harrington reports at CNSNews.com:

While the White House claims its stimulus package "supported as many as 3.5 million jobs," none were yielded from a $152,000 project to ready lesbians for "adoptive parenthood."

The $833 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), commonly known as the stimulus, awarded the tustees of Clark University, in Worcester, Mass., $152,000 to interview roughly 50 lesbian couples about their adoption experiences.

"The goal of this project is to investigate the unique strengths and potential challenges of lesbian couples across the transition to adoptive parenthood," the grant states.

"Given that parental mental health has implications for child development, and the fact that adoption can be a challenging process, it is important to understand these couples' adjustment to the parental role."

Placing children for adoption into what is by definition a counterfeit family structure demonstrates the fanaticism and extremism of the homosexualist agenda and those politicians who serve it.

Columbus Bishop Risks Jail Defending Catholic School That Fired Homosexual Teacher

By Rick Pearcey • May 6, 2013, 12:47 PM

Kirsten Andersen reports at LifeSiteNews.com:

Columbus Bishop Frederick Campbell has weighed in publicly on the firing of a lesbian teacher from a diocesan high school, telling The Columbus Dispatch that Catholic schools have a "fundamental responsibility" to make sure their teachers uphold the teachings of the faith.

Gym instructor Carla Hale was fired from Bishop Watterson High School last month after an anonymous parent wrote to the Diocese of Columbus to complain that in an obituary for Hale’s mother, Hale was listed as a surviving family member together with her longtime lesbian partner, Julie.

Hale signed a morality clause as part of her contract, affirming that "Catholic school personnel are expected to be examples of moral behavior and professionalism," and acknowledging her employment could be terminated for "immorality" or "serious unethical conduct." Because the Roman Catholic Church holds homosexual behavior to be gravely immoral, the Diocese of Columbus found her to be in violation of her contract, and fired her.

"Hale wants her job back and has filed a grievance with the teachers union, along with a formal complaint with the Columbus Community Relations Commission accusing the school of violating Columbus’s anti-discrimination ordinance," LifeSiteNews reports.

"City law deems it is a misdemeanor for an employer to discriminate against an employee based on sexual preference, or to have policies which do so," and "there is no exemption for religious organizations or other employers who object to homosexuality on religious grounds," according to LifeSiteNews. "A guilty verdict carries penalties of up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. The Community Relations Commission will evaluate Hale’s claim and decide whether to pass it on to the city prosecutor’s office."

Blaze Reports on Lesbian's "Surprisingly Candid Speech" on Homosex "Marriage"

By Rick Pearcey • April 30, 2013, 11:52 AM

In an article titled, "Lesbian Activist’s Surprisingly Candid Speech: Gay Marriage Fight Is a 'Lie' to Destroy Marriage," Mike Opelka writes at The Blaze:

A 2012 speech by Masha Gessen, an author and outspoken activist for the LGBT community, is just now going viral and it includes a theory that many supporters of traditional marriage have speculated about for years: The push for gay marriage has less to do with the right to marry -- it is about diminishing and eventually destroying the institution of marriage and redefining the "traditional family."

We noted Ms. Gessen's remarks in August 2012, in a Pro-Existence post titled, "Pro-Same-Sex 'Marriage' Lesbian: 'Institution of Marriage Should Not Exist.'"

Ms. Gessen's remarks are also commented upon March 13 of this year in "The Revolt of Intellience Against 'Marriage Equality," published at The Pearcey Report and American Thinker.

I'm encouraged to see this information made available to another circle of readers. It was also discussed on the Glenn Beck radio show yesterday.

Matthew Hoffman reports at LifeSiteNews:

The Senate of Colombia voted down a bill to create homosexual "marriage" yesterday by an overwhelming majority of 51-17, with 32 senators either not present or abstaining.

The defeat of the bill means that it will not pass to the lower Chamber of Deputies, and is effectively dead. However, the country is rapidly approaching a deadline set by the Constitutional Court in a July 2011 ruling requiring homosexual couples to be given benefits similar to those associated with marriage.

Brazil, in Portuguese: Nancy Pearcey on Homosex "Marriage" Opening Door to "Unlimited Statism"

By Rick Pearcey • April 10, 2013, 11:16 AM

On March 29, we published at Pro-Existence Nancy's remarks, "Memo to Conservatives: Accepting Homosex 'Marriage' Opens Door to 'Unlimited Statism'."

It's terrific to report that her observations now appear in Portuguese at this website in Brazil.

Thank you (obridado!) Jorge Alberto for translating Nancy's column -- and a hat tip to our São Paulo and Mackenzie University friend Mauro Meister for posting on Facebook.

Fed-Up Christians Out to Defeat "Homofascism"

By Rick Pearcey • April 7, 2013, 03:26 PM

Bob Unruh reports at WND:

Hunt for the word "homophobia" -- purportedly a fear of homosexuality -- and Merriam-Webster, the ADL, Wikipedia, Oxford Dictionary, The Free Dictionary, the Reference Dictionary and others are ready to provide help.

But look for "homofascism" -- the use of homosexuality to bludgeon and batter the religious rights of Christians and others -- and the logical resources are silent, leaving it to blogs and others to define.

For example, at DefendProclaimtheFaith.org, a blogger wrote, "In light of all the information that I already posted and current information in this digest, I believe I may have coined a phrase. I am no longer titling the information as homosexual but homofascism. . . . I am going to use it because it fits this movement."

Public School Boots Cub Scouts

By Rick Pearcey • April 2, 2013, 02:12 PM

Todd Starnes reports at Fox News:

A federal civil rights complaint has been filed against the Salt Lake City School Board after a principal booted a Cub Scout pack from an elementary school.

About 30 eight to 11 year-olds were told they could no longer meet at Mountain View Elementary School because the Boy Scout’s ban on gay members in leaders conflicted with the school district’s anti-bias policy.

The ban drew the ire of Michael Clara, a school board member and lifetime Boy Scout. Clara filed the federal complaint on behalf of two Latino parents.

"It is an assault on the founding principles of our country for school officials to attempt to exclude a voice no less legitimate than its own from public school participation," Clara is quoted as telling Fox News.

In fact, the pro-family voice of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts is more legitimate than that of a pro-homosexual school board, for the Scouts ban on homosexuals stands in the mainstream of the family, married life, and the norms of freedom, which are ultimately rooted in the "created equal" of the Creator (see Declaration of Independence) and not in the social constructs of secularized academics, alienated politicians, or an estranged federal state.

In contrast, the homosexualist movement stands outside of that enduring mainstream and therefore, by definition, occupies the extreme -- against family, against marriage, and even against the human body. It is an ideology that harms.

"A marketplace of ideas devoid of competitive viewpoints engenders an insidious society of conformity, contrary to the fundamental precepts of our Constitution," Clara is also quoted as saying. "It’s unfortunate this principal has the backing of the district to implement their own form of discrimination and racism."

By the way, Clara "describes himself as a Christian conservative Republican who supports gay rights," according to Fox News. It should be noted that a belief in "gay rights" faces a huge challenge intellectually insofar as it operates on the basis of a relativistic social construct, which undercuts the very concept of morality and of rights and offers no sound basis for "unalienable rights."

The slogan "homosexual rights" is actually an assertion of raw power, organized anarchy, and it possesses all the authenticity of a $3 bill. Anything you can buy with this counterfeit will be of no value. Fortunately for human freedom, all the yelling, screaming, hating, and name-calling in the world -- as well as removing from schools -- cannot change this fact.

Meanwhile, the name of the principal of Mountain View Elementary School is James Martin. He can be contacted by email at james.martin@slcschools.org, according the school's public website.

These are your schools, parents. These are your schools, taxpayers. The principals work for you, the school board works for you. You pay their salaries. Ultimately, in community with the God who liberates, you are the boss and you call the shots. It's time for Wisdom to rise up. It's time for Wisdom to rise up.

Keller: "I Do Not" Support Legalizing Homosex "Marriage"

By Rick Pearcey • April 1, 2013, 05:56 PM

Keller writes:

In explaining the Anabaptist tradition, I was quoted saying, "You can believe homosexuality is a sin and still believe that same-sex marriage should be legal." I did say that -- but it was purely a statement of fact. It is possible to hold that position, though it isn't my position, nor was I promoting or endorsing the position. I was simply reporting on the growth of that view.

"I can see how some readers might be confused at these points
. . . and think that I support the legalization of same-sex marriage. I do not. I hope that clarifies things for those of you who asked about this article," Keller writes.

Rev. Tim Keller "Deluded" on Legalization of Homosex "Marriage"

By Rick Pearcey • April 1, 2013, 05:12 PM

Erick Erickson wrote March 28 at RedState:

1,980 years ago tomorrow, the world put God on trial. When offered a choice, the world surrendered up God to be tortured, crucified, and killed and asked that Pontius Pilate free the criminal Barabbas instead.

There is no compromise between Christ and the world. Young evangelicals, complacent in the United States and unharassed, would do wise to remember this.

Tim Keller, a noted preacher in my denomination (Presbyterian Church in America), made news yesterday when he talked about evangelicals coming to terms with gay marriage. In particular he said that "you can believe homosexuality is a sin and still believe that same-sex marriage should be legal."

"Young evangelicals have bought into the notion that by proclaiming the standards of the Bible they are judging," Erickson continues. "They seek accommodation and given tacit approval to sin lest they be accused of judging or casting stones."

In fact, Erickson counters, "There is no accommodation on this issue with the world. Young evangelicals, Tim Keller, and the rest are deluded if they think they can seek a compromise with the world."

Erickson began his column by quoting Jesus' unflinching affirmation that "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon" (Matt. 6:24).

Erickson concludes: "Mammon chose Barabbas and too many young evangelicals are choosing Mammon."

My recommendation: Join "The Revolt of Intelligence Against 'Marriage Equality'."

Conservatives, Christians, Fox News Bashed at Annual Taxpayer-Sponsored LGBT Youth Event

By Rick Pearcey • March 30, 2013, 07:23 PM

Kristine Marsh writes at CNSNews.com:

An Iowa anti-bullying conference is planning to teach students and adults how "to fight back against propaganda from the extreme right wing, from Fox News and Rush Limbaugh to Bob Vander Plaats and Jan Mickelson."

The event is being put on by Iowa Safe Schools, a gay advocacy group affiliated with the Iowa Civil Rights Commission. This is its eighth annual Iowa Governor's Conference on LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning) Youth, and taxpayers and students are sponsoring it, at least in part.

The conference, that takes place April 3, will feature anti-conservative and anti-Christian workshops.

"A documentary entitled For the Bible Tells Me So will be shown, along with a discussion afterwards," CNSNews reports. "The event description asks, 'Is the Bible an excuse to hate?' Another event describes how religion is a 'form of oppression' alongside racism, sexism, and homophobia."

This extreme homosexualist approach smacks of rank propaganda that discriminates against the Creator and his liberating norms for marriage, human sexuality, and unalienable rights (as opposed to pretend rights socially constructed in San Fransciso thought ghettos).

Free minds, of course, revolt and refuse to submit to organized bullying and to organized hatreds, especially when those hatreds try to hide their intent behind slogans such as "safe schools" and other deceptions designed not to inform but to conquer.

Stand up, Iowa. Stand up to your oppressors. In love and in truth, yes, but stand. Hate must be resisted, and lies knocked down by truth. Live free. Live free.

Son of Lesbian in Paris: Meet the "Gay" Police State

By Rick Pearcey • March 30, 2013, 12:54 PM

Robert Oscar Lopez writes:

On March 24, 2013, as I stood with other speakers waiting to take the stage at Paris's "manif pour tous" against homosexual marriage, I saw tear gas sail through the air at a crowd of peaceful protesters.

Children, elderly people, and elected officials were hit by the gas. Christine Boutin, the president of a major political party, passed out. Some videos showing what happened are posted on my blog here. . . .

The images of a police force, commanded by a gay Socialist mayor (Bernard Delanoe), shooting tear gas at children was worse than the imagery of Lt. Pike pepper-spraying college students in Davis, and worse, I would say, than the Jim Crow police force using dogs and water hoses on black children during the famous protests led by Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. . . .

Having spent so many years in the gay community, I found myself falling into an emotional nadir as violence marred events, both in Brussels and Paris. In both cases, it was the side militating for gay parenting that used physical intimidation: a combination of riled street thugs and armed riot police, the deadly cocktail of "unofficial" and "official" violence that characterizes the dynamics of so many police states. . . .

"Whatever becomes of same-sex marriage in the United States," Lopez concludes, "the gay movement poses a much longer-term problem. Homosexuality is not a sexual orientation, but rather an ideology. The LGBT movement is not a community, but rather a political machine. . . .  [I]t is the face of an ancient urge which must always be resisted: the lust for power and domination."

Memo to Supreme Court: Who Respects the Human Body? Not Homosexuals

By Nancy Pearcey • March 28, 2013, 08:57 AM

Editor's Note: Nancy Pearcey's analysis below seems to have particular relevance now that the Supreme Court has heard arguments on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California's Prop 8:

The ruling by Judge Vaughn Walker to strike down Proposition 8 raises a host of issues that go far beyond the California case. Especially troubling is Walker’s view of gender. His ruling makes the sweeping assertion that “gender no longer forms an essential part of marriage.”

This declaration is being quoted in astonishment for its sheer breathtaking exaggeration. Yet it reveals a pivotal element in the liberal view of human sexuality.

Liberal ethics is based on a fragmented view of the human being that pits biology against choice. Its roots go back to the French philosopher Rene Descartes, who proposed that the body is a machine controlled by a completely separate thing called the mind. The ghost in the machine.

As philosopher Daniel Dennett explains, “Since Descartes in the 17th century we have had a vision of the self as a sort of immaterial ghost that owns and controls a body the way you own and control your car.” In other words, the body is no longer regarded as an integral part of the human person but as sub-personal, functioning strictly on the level of biology and chemistry -- almost like a possession that can be used to serve the self’s desires.

This is the philosophy that underlies arguments for same-sex “marriage.” The assumption is that our bodies have nothing to do with our identity as persons. And that, therefore, anatomy can be overridden by sheer self-expressive choice.

The denigration of physical anatomy does not stop with same-sex “marriage.” The cutting edge issue today is transgenderism, a movement that rejects the distinction between male and female itself as a mere social construction -- and an oppressive one at that.

According to the New York Times, several universities now offer separate bathrooms, housing and sports teams for transgender students who do not identify themselves as either male or female. Some schools no longer require students to check male or female on their health forms. Instead, they are asked to “describe your gender identity history." In other words: Which genders have you been over the course of your lifetime?

Gender has become a postmodern concept -- fluid, free-floating, completely detached from physical anatomy.

Several states have already passed laws mandating that schools and workplaces accommodate transgenders, and supporters are pushing hard for the same laws at the national level. In 2007, California passed a law requiring schools to permit transgender students to use the restroom or locker room of their preferred gender, regardless of their anatomical sex. The new law redefines sex as socially constructed gender: “Gender means sex and includes a person’s gender identity and gender related appearance and behavior whether or not stereotypically associated with the person’s assigned sex at birth.”

Note the assumption that your sex is “assigned” to you, as though it were purely arbitrary instead of an anatomical fact. The law is being used to impose a secular liberal worldview that dismisses physical anatomy as insignificant, inconsequential and completely irrelevant to gender identity.

As I show in Saving Leonardo, this represents a devastatingly disrespectful view of the physical body. It alienates people from their own bodies, treating anatomy as having no intrinsic dignity. No dignity is accorded to the unique capabilities inherent in being male or female.

Ironically, Christians are often dismissed as prudes and Puritans because of their “repressive” sexual morality -- and yet the Christian worldview actually affirms a much higher view of the body than the liberal, utilitarian view. It offers the radically positive affirmation that the material world was created by God, that it will ultimately be made whole by God and that God was actually incarnated (made flesh) in a human body.

In the ancient world, these claims were so astonishing that the Gnostics rejected them, and tried to turn Jesus into an avatar who only appeared to have a human body. They could not accept the idea of a Creator who celebrates our material, biological, sexual nature.

Today’s liberal elites such as Judge Walker may pose as enlightened liberators, but in fact they are secular Gnostics, treating physical anatomy as having no intrinsic dignity or purpose. In an unexpected twist of history, it is once again Christians who are defending a high and holistic view of the human person.

"Marriage Equality" Spells "Marriage Extinction"

By Rick Pearcey • March 23, 2013, 02:08 PM

In his most recent column, Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel Action writes:

Next week the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on two of the most critical cases of our time. On Tuesday, March 26, attorneys will make the pitch both for and against California’s Proposition 8. This, of course, is the Golden State’s pro-marriage amendment. It maintained the timeless definition of natural marriage as between man and wife.

Then, on Wednesday, March 27, the high court will consider the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), passed in 1996 with overwhelming bipartisan support and signed into law by then President Bill Clinton. It, likewise, secured the definition of legitimate marriage for purposes of federal law.

Will the high court revolt on behalf of intelligence against "marriage equality"?

Will the justices assert a critical distance that allows them to see beyond the well-practiced PR boom-boom and recognize, as I wrote last week, "that the kind of 'equality' promoted in 'marriage equality' is alien in theory, and inferior in results, to the genuinely liberating concept of 'created equal' we find in planted in the Declaration of Independence?"

Or will they lose perspective and fail to realize, as Barber notes, that the "fierce push for 'gay marriage' has nothing to do with 'marriage equality' and everything to do with 'marriage extinction'"?

The Supreme Court may find it of interest that lesbian journalist Masha Gessen signaled the real endame of "marriage equality" during a conference last summer in Sydney, Australia.

"It's a no-brainer," she said, "that the institution of marriage should not exist."

We can honestly posit that Gessen holds her views sincerely. And yet, however she holds them, they reflect a personal attachment to what ultimately is an arbitrary and relativistic approach to marriage.

It is a counterfeit complaining about the authentic, the spurious complaining about the injustice of the genuine.

And if U.S. justices follow her lead, the result will not be law, but legalized anarchy enforced by legalized crime.

If yesterday crime "was put on trial," warns Albert Camus, "today it determines the law." That is regress, not progress; reactionary, not humanitarian.

The revolt of intelligence says Masha Gessen is welcome to her private feelings but that she, and others who share her sentiments, should refrain from trying to impose them upon the rest of us. That would be intolerant, oppressive, and profoundly discriminatory.

Pro-Homosex "Marriage" AAP Doesn’t Speak for all Pediatricians

By Rick Pearcey • March 21, 2013, 06:30 PM

Peter Sprigg writes at the FRC blog:

The media has jumped on a new "Policy Statement" issued by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) which endorses the redefinition of marriage, arguing, 'Scientific evidence affirms that children . . . receive similar parenting whether they are raised by parents of the same or different genders.'

This is a highly misleading claim, especially in light of the research published last year by University of Texas sociologist Mark Regnerus -- the most methodologically-sound research on the subject ever done, using a large and representative population-based sample -- which showed children whose parents had a homosexual relationship suffered numerous disadvantages compared with children raised by their married, biological mother and father.

"In any case," Sprigg continues, "it is unclear whether the 'Policy Statement' [accurately] represents the views of any more pediatricians than the two lead authors and the six members of the AAP’s 'Committee on Psychosocial Aspects of Child and Family Health'."

"It is certain," Sprigg says, "that they do not speak for all pediatricians -- as indicated by the press release . . . issued today by an alternative group, the American College of Pediatricians."

Here is the press release from the American College of Pediatricians:

Gainesville, Florida (March 21, 2013) -- The American College of Pediatricians reaffirms that the intact, functional family consisting of a married (female) mother and (male) father provides the best opportunity for children. The College, therefore, disputes the American Academy of Pediatrics’ (AAP) claim that supporting same-sex unions promotes the "well-being of children."

In its newly released statement, "Promoting the Well-Being of Children Whose Parents Are Gay or Lesbian," the AAP ignores important research on risks to children in favor of the wants of adults.

"The College does not support the alteration of this time-honored and proven standard to conform to pressures from 'politically correct' groups. No one concerned with the well-being of children can reasonably ignore the evidence for maintaining the current standard, nor can they or we ignore the equally strong evidence that harm to children can result if the current standards are rejected," says Den Trumbull, MD, President of the American College of Pediatricians.

"The AAP ignores generations of evidence of health risks to children in advocating for the legality and legitimacy of same-sex marriage and child-rearing."

As I have shown in "The Revolt of Intelligence Against 'Marriage Equality'," the openly admitted trajectory of the homosexualist push for "equality" in marriage is not marriage at all, but rather "'marriage equality' becomes 'marriage elasticity,' with the ultimate goal of 'marriage extinction'."

Or as one lesbian journalist put it last summer while speaking at a conference, "The institution of marriage should not exist."

MN Legislators Can’t Answer Child’s Question: "Which Parent Do I Not Need -- Mom or My Dad?"

By Rick Pearcey • March 21, 2013, 05:24 PM

Fred Lucas reports at CNSNews:

Minnesota state legislators considering a same-sex "marriage" bill for the state did not have an answer to an 11-year-old girl’s question on which parent is not needed.

"Since every child needs a mom and a dad to be born, I don’t think we can change that children need a mom and a dad. I believe God made it that way,” Grace Evans, 11, said before the Minnesota House Committee on Civil Law last week. "I know some disagree, but I want to ask you this question: Which parent do I not need -- my mom or my dad?"

"She paused for eight seconds as the legislators on the committee sat silent," CNSNews reports. "Evans then said, 'I’ll ask again, which parent do I not need -- my mom or my dad?' She paused again, this time for 13 seconds of silence from state lawmakers."

And then the brave Minnesota lawmakers struck silent by the question of an 11-year-old "voted in favor of the gay 'marriage' bill and sent it to the full House."

Be Glad Portman's Son Isn't a Serial Killer

By Rick Pearcey • March 19, 2013, 03:04 PM

Joseph Farah writes at WND:

I’ve heard some wacky excuses by politicians for changing their minds on some of the most important moral issues facing American, but Ohio Sen. Rob Portman’s rationale for flip-flopping on same-sex marriage takes the proverbial wedding cake.

In case you haven’t heard, his son is a homosexual.

"I have come to believe that if two people are prepared to make a lifetime commitment to love and care for each other in good times and in bad, the government shouldn’t deny them the opportunity to get married," Portman wrote in a commentary published Friday in the Columbus Dispatch.

I guess we should all be grateful Rob Portman’s son didn’t choose to become a polygamist or a serial killer.

I have no doubt Rob Portman is sincere in his newfound opinion.

However, that’s all it is -- an opinion.

And opinions don’t determine what is right and what is wrong. Opinions don’t determine what is sinful and what is not sinful. Opinions don’t determine what is truth and what is a lie.

Blaze: "Famed Christian Pastor" Issues "Shocking" Homosex "Marriage" Endorsement

By Rick Pearcey • March 19, 2013, 09:48 AM

Billy Hallowell reports at The Blaze:

Controversial faith leader Rob Bell spoke over the weekend at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, Calif., where the former pastor openly endorsed gay marriage. When asked about the controversial issue by The Very Rev. Dr. Jane Shaw, who was moderating the event, he offered up a clear and concise response -- one that will serve as a surprise to many conservative evangelicals.

"Yes, I am for marriage. I am for fidelity. I am for love," he said, going on to get more specific. "Whether it’s a man and a woman, a woman and a woman, a man and a man -- I think the ship has sailed and I think the church needs to just -- this is the world we’re living in and we need to affirm people wherever they are."

Bell's relativistic stance represents not just an extremist departure from a Christian mind, but also an extremist departure from a free mind, as he endorses the organized political hatreds of the moment.

"The endgame" of so-called marriage equality "is not to make marriage equally available to all but to make it equally unavailable to all," I write in my latest column, "The Revolt of Intelligence Against 'Marriage Equality'," published at American Thinker and The Pearcey Report

Instead of capitulation to ideological passions, which is not compassionate, what is needed is an awareness that the trajectory of "marriage equality" is "'marriage elasticity,' with the ultimate goal of 'marriage extinction'."

The denial of truth spoken in love is inhumane, uncivil, and profoundly un-Christian.

Pope Francis on Homo-Sex "Marriage": "A Move of the Father of Lies," "A Total Rejection of God's Law"

By Rick Pearcey • March 13, 2013, 06:52 PM

Terence P. Jeffrey reports at CNSNews.com:

In 2010, when his native Argentina was considering a proposal to legalize same-sex marriage, Pope Francis I, then archbishop of Buenos Aires, said that the legislation was a total rejection of God's law and an effort by the father of lies to confuse and deceive humanity. . . .

"At stake is the identity and survival of the family: father, mother and children," said Cardinal Bergoglio. "At stake are the lives of many children who will be discriminated against in advance, and deprived of their human development given by a father and a mother and willed by God. At stake is the total rejection of God’s law engraved in our hearts."

"Let us not be naive: This is not simply a political struggle, but it is an attempt to destroy God’s plan," said the future pope. "It is not just a bill (a mere instrument) but a 'move' of the father of lies who seeks to confuse and deceive the children of God."

State Department Will Issue "Female" Passports to Anatomical Males

By Rick Pearcey • March 11, 2013, 07:48 PM

Penny Starr reports at CNSNews.com:

The U.S. State Department's policy on dealing with transgendered people will allow Americans who are anatomically male but identify themselves as female to secure U.S. passports that match their gender "identity" rather than their anatomy.

But what if, O gods of State, an individual should feel simultaneously male and female? What oppression these simultransgendered pioneers must feel.

Research Reinforced: Homosexuality Is Unhealthy

By Rick Pearcey • March 7, 2013, 07:06 AM

From Instant Analysis:

A new study comparing same-sex couples to married heterosexuals shows that the former are less healthy than the latter.

Matt Barber, vice president of Liberty Counsel Action, tells American Family News the latest numbers were published in the Journal of Health and Social Behavior. It found that same-sex cohabiting men were 61 percent more likely to report "poor or fair heallth"than an equitable number of men reporting from heterosexual marriages. Likewise, same-sex cohabiting women were 46 percent more likely to report the same when compared to heterosexual married women."

"LifeSiteNews explains that these results held after controlling the socioeconomic status of the 1,659 same-sex couples reporting,"  according to Instant Analysis.

Why Are Boy Scouts Contemplating Suicide?

By Rick Pearcey • January 29, 2013, 10:00 AM

David Kupelian writes at WND:

The Boy Scouts of America -- one of the last truly great American institutions, which for 100 years has prepared tens of millions of boys for responsible manhood -- is reportedly on the verge of changing its policy on homosexuals. . . .

America is in a time of great crisis on many fronts, and much that is good we are in danger of permanently losing. The Boy Scouts of America is one of the most important and loved and truly valuable organizations in American history. It is literally a sacred trust between one generation and the next. The Supreme Court is on their side. Public opinion is on their side. God is on their side.

Why on earth would they trade all this away by giving in to pressure from people who detest them and everything they stand for?

"A little bit of America will die if the Boy Scouts organization gives in to the pressure and makes this decision," Kupelian concludes.

"You might want to let them know how you feel. You can reach the Boy Scouts of America at 972-580-2000. Tell them how much you appreciate them -- and tell them to stand strong."
