Pro-Same-Sex "Marriage" Lesbian: "Institution of Marriage Should Not Exist"

By Rick Pearcey • August 2, 2012, 12:09 PM

In a Stand to Reason blog post titled "Same-Sex Marriage Won't Be Enough," journalist and lesbian Masha Gessen is quoted as follows at the Sydney Writers Festival:

It’s a no-brainer that we should have the right to marry, but I also think equally that it’s a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist.

That causes my brain some trouble. And part of why it causes me trouble is because fighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we are going to do with marriage when we get there -- because we lie that the institution of marriage is not going to change, and that is a lie.

Update -- Aug. 6, 2012: Perhaps I might have noted in my post: These frank remarks were given during a panel discussion at the Sidney Writers Festival in Sidney, Australia.

Panel discussions in far away places often do not make news in the U.S. (just as they often do not even when occuring on Capitol Hill). It is possible that the frankness of the response is therefore also related to the relative obscurity of the occasion.

In any case, as Chick-fil-A's smashing success just last Wednesday demonstrates, the imposition of extremist, counterfeit views of marriage is far from a fait-accompli.

Physically, morally, socially, and politically, the homosexual embrace is a kiss of death. A free-thinking people that practices critical distance refuses to submit.

In addition, anti-Creator bigotry and discrimination are made all the more difficult in a body politic explicitly founded upon the Creator, who in the case of the U.S., is affirmed in the Declaration of Independence as the source of unalienable human rights.

The ill-described "gay" target is not "traditional marriage" but marriage per se (some "traditions" should be jettisoned; slavery, for example). For the radical, alienated homosexualist, no socially viable vestige of the Creator shall be allowed to stand. None.

What our female homosexual panelist is simply doing is laying bare what always has been at the theorectical core of the homosexualist worldview.

Every worldview seeks self-actualization, and every false worldview would eventually destroy the self (and much more, to the degree it achieves self-actualization). (This update originally appeared in Facebook.)
