Green Shock! Australia Repeals Carbon Tax

To the shock and perturbation of the green lobby, Australians are repealing their carbon tax. But it's the right move and a big one at that -- a good way to start turning around all the silliness over climate change. . . .
[Prime Minister Tony] Abbott and Australia's lawmakers made the only rational choice. To tax carbon dioxide emissions is pointless. It is also economically harmful. . . .
Carbon dioxide is a naturally occurring trace gas. Humans exhale it, plants breathe it.It is not toxic, nor is it a pollutant, unless its atmospheric concentrations reach so high -- 40,000 parts per million rather than the 400 parts per million now found in our air -- that it crowds out the oxygen humans need to breathe.
"Abbott's repeal is a handful of outback sand tossed in the grinding gears of the green lobby's carbon tax campaign. And if there's any justice, it will set a precedent for other clearer-thinking nation," IBD observes.
"That's why global warm-mongers are in such a froth. They're afraid their decades of data manipulation and scare tactics will begin to unravel."
