Allied forces had indeed landed on the beaches of everyday America and were making remarkably rapid progress inland toward liberating a people groaning under foreign occupation.

Once again, absolutely rock-hard elite opinion was felled by the stubborn facticity of a people in revolt against their oppressors.

When it comes to settled "truth" these days, much that elite society claims to know just "isn't so" (Hat tip: Ronald Reagan).

Perhaps politically correct society could use a heavy dose of critical thinking. Not the pretend kind that's in vogue in Washington-controlled government schools. But the real thing.

For a bunch so addicted to "orientations," ruling class elites have somehow missed one of the most important orientations of all: reality orientation.
