Pearceys Meet With NFL Chaplains, Wives
Nancy and I enjoyed a tremendous "Seminar-Workshop" afternoon yesterday from approximately 1:30-4:20 pm with several NFL chaplains and their wives at the Hyatt Place near the Galleria in Houston.
Nancy presented some material on powerpoint, and both of us discussed a "test everything" Christian worldview and its holistic, real-world applications with this sharp group on staff with Athletes in Action.
Among the teams represented by chaplains were the Houston Texans, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One of the chaplains says he may be transitioning to work more in baseball, with the New York Yankees.
The individuals in this group are so intriguing and motivated, and our discussion so lively, that Nancy and I didn't actually get around to meeting everyone and noting all the teams represented. That just means we have more work to do the second half.
